2013-08-28KVM: x86: update masterclock when kvmclock_offset is calculated (v2)Marcelo Tosatti
The offset to add to the hosts monotonic time, kvmclock_offset, is calculated against the monotonic time at KVM_SET_CLOCK ioctl time. Request a master clock update at this time, to reduce a potentially unbounded difference between the values of the masterclock and the clock value used to calculate kvmclock_offset. 2013-08-28spi: altera: Simplify altera_spi_txrx implementation for noirq caseAxel Lin
This patch simplifies the code and makes it better in readability. Now the logic in the while loop is simply "write to ALTERA_SPI_TXDATA then read from ALTERA_SPI_TXDATA". There is a slightly logic change because now we avoid a read-write cycle when hw->len is 0. Since the code in bitbang library will call bitbang->txrx_bufs() only when t->len is not 0, this is not a problem. 2013-08-28pinctrl: Pass all configs to driver on pin_config_set()Sherman Yin
When setting pin configuration in the pinctrl framework, pin_config_set() or pin_config_group_set() is called in a loop to set one configuration at a time for the specified pin or group. This patch 1) removes the loop and 2) changes the API to pass the whole pin config array to the driver. It is now up to the driver to loop through the configs. This allows the driver to potentially combine configs and reduce the number of writes to pin config registers. All c files changed have been build-tested to verify the change compiles and that the corresponding .o is successfully generated. 2013-08-28pinctrl: core: Add proper mutex lock in pinctrl_request_gpioAxel Lin
This one is missed in commit 42fed7ba "pinctrl: move subsystem mutex to pinctrl_dev struct". I think this fixes the race between pin_free() and pin_request() calls. It protects accessing the members of pctldev->desc. (e.g. update desc->mux_usecount, desc->gpio_owner, desc->mux_owner, etc) Current code grabs pctldev->mutex before calling pinmux_free_gpio(), but did not grab the mutex while calling pinmux_request_gpio(). 2013-08-28arm64: Fix mapping of memory banks not ending on a PMD_SIZE boundaryCatalin Marinas
The map_mem() function limits the current memblock limit to PGDIR_SIZE (the initial swapper_pg_dir mapping) to avoid create_mapping() allocating memory from unmapped areas. However, if the first block is within PGDIR_SIZE and not ending on a PMD_SIZE boundary, when 4K page configuration is enabled, create_mapping() will try to allocate a pte page. Such page may be returned by memblock_alloc() from the end of such bank (or any subsequent bank within PGDIR_SIZE) which is not mapped yet. The patch limits the current memblock limit to the aligned end of the first bank and gradually increases it as more memory is mapped. It also ensures that the start of the first bank is aligned to PMD_SIZE to avoid pte page allocation for this mapping. 2013-08-28i2c: designware: get SDA hold time, HCNT and LCNT configuration from ACPIMika Westerberg
Some Intel LPSS I2C devices make the SDA hold time and *CNT parameters available via SSCN (standard mode) and FMCN (fast mode) ACPI methods. 2013-08-28i2c: designware: make HCNT/LCNT values configurableMika Westerberg
The DesignWare I2C controller has high count (HCNT) and low count (LCNT) registers for each of the I2C speed modes (standard and fast). These registers are programmed based on the input clock speed in the driver. The current code calculates these values based on the input clock speed and tries hard to meet the I2C bus timing requirements. This could result non-optimal values with regarding to the bus speed. For example on Intel BayTrail we get bus speed of 315.41kHz which is ~20% slower than we would expect (400kHz) in fast mode (even though the timing requirements are met). This patch makes it possible for the platform code to pass more optimal HCNT/LCNT values to the core driver if they are known beforehand. If these are not set we use the calculated and more conservative values.
