2024-01-09drm/amd/display: Request usb4 bw for mst streamsPeichen Huang
[WHY] When usb4 bandwidth allocation mode is enabled, driver need to request bandwidth from connection manager. For mst link, the requested bandwidth should be big enough for all remote streams. [HOW] - If mst link, the requested bandwidth should be the sum of all mst streams bandwidth added with dp MTPH overhead. - Allocate/deallcate usb4 bandwidth when setting dpms on/off. - When doing display mode validation, driver also need to consider total bandwidth of all mst streams for mst link. 2024-01-09drm/amd/display: Disconnect phantom pipe OPP from OPTC being disabledGeorge Shen
[Why] If an OPP is used for a different OPTC without first being disconnected from the previous OPTC, unexpected behaviour can occur. This also applies to phantom pipes, which is what the current logic missed. [How] Disconnect OPPs from OPTC for phantom pipes before disabling OTG master. Also move the disconnection to before the OTG master disable, since the register is double buffered. To avoid the problem, take a BO reference in svm_range_schedule_evict_svm_bo instead of in the worker. Prior to this patch all processes were marked as SECINITSID_KERNEL before the SELinux policy was loaded, making it difficult to distinquish early boot userspace processes from the kernel in the SELinux policy. For most users this will be a non-issue as the policy is loaded early enough during boot, but for users who load their SELinux policy relatively late, this should make it easier to construct meaningful security policies. - Cleanups to the selinuxfs code by Al, mostly on VFS related issues during a policy reload. The commit description has more detail, but the quick summary is that we are replacing a disconnected directory approach with a temporary directory that we swapover at the end of the reload. - Fix an issue where the input sanity checking on socket bind() operations was slightly different depending on the presence of SELinux. This is caused by the placement of the LSM hooks in the generic socket layer as opposed to the protocol specific bind() handler where the protocol specific sanity checks are performed. Mickaël has mentioned that he is working to fix this, but in the meantime we just ensure that we are replicating the checks properly. We need to balance the placement of the LSM hooks with the number of LSM hooks; pushing the hooks down into the protocol layers is likely not the right answer. - Update the avc_has_perm_noaudit() prototype to better match the function definition. - Migrate from using partial_name_hash() to full_name_hash() the filename transition hash table. This improves the quality of the code and has the potential for a minor performance bump. - Consolidate some open coded SELinux access vector comparisions into a single new function, avtab_node_cmp(), and use that instead. A small, but nice win for code quality and maintainability. - Updated the SELinux MAINTAINERS entry with additional information around process, bug reporting, etc. We're also updating some of our "official" roles: dropping Eric Paris and adding Ondrej as a reviewer. - Cleanup the coding style crimes in security/selinux/include. While I'm not a fan of code churn, I am pushing for more automated code checks that can be done at the developer level and one of the obvious things to check for is coding style. In an effort to start from a "good" base I'm slowly working through our source files cleaning them up with the help of clang-format and good ol' fashioned human eyeballs; this has the first batch of these changes. In of_parse_phandle_with_args_map() the inner loop that iterates through the map entries calls of_node_put(new) to free the reference acquired by the previous iteration of the inner loop. This assumes that the value of "new" is NULL on the first iteration of the inner loop. Make sure that this is true in all iterations of the outer loop by setting "new" to NULL after its value is assigned to "cur". Extend the unittest to detect the double free and add an additional test case that actually triggers this path. 2024-01-09ksmbd: validate the zero field of packet headerLi Nan
The SMB2 Protocol requires that "The first byte of the Direct TCP transport packet header MUST be zero (0x00)"[1]. Commit 1c1bcf2d3ea0 ("ksmbd: validate smb request protocol id") removed the validation of this 1-byte zero. Add the validation back now. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/vbabka/slab Pull slab updates from Vlastimil Babka: - SLUB: delayed freezing of CPU partial slabs (Chengming Zhou) Freezing is an operation involving double_cmpxchg() that makes a slab exclusive for a particular CPU. Chengming noticed that we use it also in situations where we are not yet installing the slab as the CPU slab, because freezing also indicates that the slab is not on the shared list. This results in redundant freeze/unfreeze operation and can be avoided by marking separately the shared list presence by reusing the PG_workingset flag. This approach neatly avoids the issues described in 9b1ea29bc0d7 ("Revert "mm, slub: consider rest of partial list if acquire_slab() fails"") as we can now grab a slab from the shared list in a quick and guaranteed way without the cmpxchg_double() operation that amplifies the lock contention and can fail. As a result, lkp has reported 34.2% improvement of stress-ng.rawudp.ops_per_sec - SLAB removal and SLUB cleanups (Vlastimil Babka) The SLAB allocator has been deprecated since 6.5 and nobody has objected so far. We agreed at LSF/MM to wait until the next LTS, which is 6.6, so we should be good to go now. This doesn't yet erase all traces of SLAB outside of mm/ so some dead code, comments or documentation remain, and will be cleaned up gradually (some series are already in the works). 2024-01-09md: Fix md_seq_ops() regressionsYu Kuai
Commit cf1b6d4441ff ("md: simplify md_seq_ops") introduce following regressions: 1) If list all_mddevs is emptly, personalities and unused devices won't be showed to user anymore. 2) If seq_file buffer overflowed from md_seq_show(), then md_seq_start() will be called again, hence personalities will be showed to user again. 3) If seq_file buffer overflowed from md_seq_stop(), seq_read_iter() doesn't handle this, hence unused devices won't be showed to user. Fix above problems by printing personalities and unused devices in md_seq_show(). 2024-01-09dt-bindings: ignore paths outside kernel for DT_SCHEMA_FILESAndré Draszik
If the location of the kernel sources contains the string that we're filtering for using DT_SCHEMA_FILES, then all schemas will currently be matched, returned and checked, not just the ones we actually expected. As an example, if the kernel sources happen to be below a directory 'google', and DT_SCHEMA_FILES=google, everything is checked. More common examples might be having the sources below people's home directories that contain the string st or arm and then searching for those. The list is endless. Fix this by only matching for schemas below the kernel source's bindings directory. Note that I opted for the implementation here so as to not having to deal with escaping DT_SCHEMA_FILES, which would have been the alternative if the grep match itself had been updated. 2024-01-09dt-bindings: tpm: Convert Google Cr50 bindings to DT schemaLukas Wunner
Convert the devicetree bindings for the Google Security Chip H1 running Cr50 firmware to DT schema. The chip can be attached to SPI or I²C. Existing devicetrees use the same "google,cr50" compatible string for both cases without additionally specifying a generic "tcg,tpm_tis-spi" or "tcg,tpm-tis-i2c" compatible. The chip therefore cannot be documented in the tcg,tpm_tis-spi.yaml and tcg,tpm-tis-i2c.yaml schemas: The validator would select both of them and complain about SPI properties when the chip is an I²C peripheral. So document the chip in a schema of its own which includes both, SPI and I²C properties by reference. 2024-01-09dt-bindings: tpm: Consolidate TCG TIS bindingsLukas Wunner
A significant number of Trusted Platform Modules conform to the "TIS" specification published by the Trusted Computing Group ("TCG PC Client Specific TPM Interface Specification"). These chips typically use an SPI, I²C or LPC bus as transport (via MMIO in the latter case). Some of them even support multiple of those buses (selectable through a config strap) or the same chip is available in multiple SKUs, each with a different bus interface. The devicetree bindings for these TPMs have not been converted to DT schema yet and are spread out across 3 generic files and 2 chip-specific files. A few TPM compatible strings were added to trivial-devices.yaml even though additional properties are documented in the plaintext bindings. Consolidate the devicetree bindings into 3 yaml files, one per bus. Move common properties to a separate tpm-common.yaml. Document compatible strings which are supported by the TPM TIS driver but were neglected to be added to the devicetree bindings. Document the memory-region property recently introduced by commit 1e2714bb83fc ("tpm: Add reserved memory event log").
