The raw_spin* namespace was taken by lockdep for the architecture
specific implementations. raw_spin_* would be the ideal name space for
the spinlocks which are not converted to sleeping locks in preempt-rt.
Linus suggested to convert the raw_ to arch_ locks and cleanup the
name space instead of using an artifical name like core_spin,
atomic_spin or whatever
No functional change.

Separate spin_lock and rw_lock functions. Preempt-RT needs to exclude
the rw_lock functions from being compiled. The reordering allows to do
that with a single #ifdef.

This commit adds the vmwgfx driver for the VWware Virtual GPU aka SVGA.
The driver is under staging the same as Nouveau and Radeon KMS. Hopefully
the 2D ioctls are bug free and don't need changing, so that part of the
API should be stable. But there there is a pretty big chance that the 3D API
will change in the future.

This adds a new category of symbols to the relocs program: symbols
which are known to be relative, even though the linker emits them as
absolute; this is the case for symbols that live in the linker script,
which currently applies to _end.
Unfortunately the previous workaround of putting _end in its own empty
section was defeated by newer binutils, which remove empty sections
completely.
This patch also changes the symbol matching to use regular expressions
instead of hardcoded C for specific patterns.
This is a decidedly non-minimal patch: a modified version of the
relocs program is used as part of the Syslinux build, and this is
basically a backport to Linux of some of those changes; they have
thus been well tested.

It is not very good to do IO in udf_clear_inode. First, VFS does not really
expect inode to become dirty there and thus we have to write it ourselves,
second, memory reclaim gets blocked waiting for IO when it does not really
expect it, third, the IO pattern (e.g. on umount) resulting from writes in
udf_clear_inode is bad and it slows down writing a lot.
The reason why UDF needed to do IO in udf_clear_inode is that UDF standard
mandates extent length to exactly match inode size. But when we allocate
extents to a file or directory, we don't really know what exactly the final
file size will be and thus temporarily set it to block boundary and later
truncate it to exact length in udf_clear_inode. Now, this is changed to
truncate to final file size in udf_release_file for regular files. For
directories and symlinks, we do the truncation at the moment when learn
what the final file size will be.

Some disks do not contain VAT inode in the last recorded block as required
by the standard but a few blocks earlier (or the number of recorded blocks
is wrong). So look for the VAT inode a bit before the end of the media.

Struct dev_pm_ops is not configured in current i2c bus type. i2c drivers
only depends on suspend/resume entries in struct dev_pm_ops are not
informed of PM suspend and resume events by i2c framework.

These macros simply declare an enum, so drivers might as well declare
it themselves. This puts an end to the arbitrary limit of 8 chip types
per i2c driver.

Struct i2c_client_address_data only contains one field at this point,
which makes its usefulness questionable. Get rid of it and pass simple
address lists around instead.

This patch updates the default configuration for ATNGW100 (also for the
EVKLCD10X configs), ATSTK1002 and ATSTK1006.
By default all kernels will now have support for EXT2/3/4 out of the box, this
is handy if the user wants to boot from SD-Card.

This patch adds board support for ATNGW100 mkII. This board is an upgrade of
the ATNGW100 where the difference is an additional 256 MB NAND flash device and
128 MB 32-bit SDRAM instead of the 32 MB 16-bit SDRAM on ATNGW100.

The MSR driver would compute the values for cpu and c at declaration,
and then again in the body of the function. This isn't merely
redundant, but unsafe, since cpu might not refer to a valid CPU at
that point.
Remove the unnecessary and dangerous references in the declarations.
This code now matches the equivalent code in the CPUID driver.

read_lock(&tasklist_lock) does not protect
sys_sched_get_rr_param() against a concurrent update of the
policy or scheduler parameters as do_sched_scheduler() does not
take the tasklist_lock.
The access to task->sched_class->get_rr_interval is protected by
task_rq_lock(task).
Use rcu_read_lock() to protect find_task_by_vpid() and prevent
the task struct from going away.

tasklist_lock is held read locked to protect the
find_task_by_vpid() call and to prevent the task going away.
sched_setaffinity acquires a task struct ref and drops tasklist
lock right away. The access to the cpus_allowed mask is
protected by rq->lock.
rcu_read_lock() provides the same protection here.

read_lock(&tasklist_lock) does not protect
sys_sched_getscheduler and sys_sched_getparam() against a
concurrent update of the policy or scheduler parameters as
do_sched_setscheduler() does not take the tasklist_lock. The
accessed integers can be retrieved w/o locking and are snapshots
anyway.
Using rcu_read_lock() to protect find_task_by_vpid() and prevent
the task struct from going away is not changing the above
situation.

There is still some more work to do to disentangle map creation
from DSO loading, but this happens only for the kernel, and for
the early adopters of perf diff, where this disentanglement
matters most, we'll be testing different kernels, so no problem
here.
Further clarification: right now we create the kernel maps for
the various modules and discontiguous kernel text maps when
loading the DSO, we should do it as a two step process, first
creating the maps, for multiple mappings with the same DSO
store, then doing the dso load just once, for the first hit on
one of the maps sharing this DSO backing store.
