Linux doesn't run on i386, anymore. See:
commit d55c5a93db2d5fa95f233ab153f594365d95b777
Author: H. Peter Anvin <hpa@linux.intel.com>
Date: Wed Nov 28 11:50:24 2012 -0800
x86, 386 removal: Remove CONFIG_CMPXCHG
All 486+ CPUs support CMPXCHG, so remove the fallback 386 support
code.
Furthermore, as the commit-message states, all 486+ CPUs support the
CMPXCHG instruction and thus even legacy DRM can run fine.
Drop the now superfluous "x86 == 3" check.

A memory allocation failure could cause nfsd_startup_generic to fail, in
which case nfsd_users wouldn't be incorrectly left elevated.
After nfsd restarts nfsd_startup_generic will then succeed without doing
anything--the first consequence is likely nfs4_start_net finding a bad
laundry_wq and crashing.

devel-stable
Two different fixes for the same problem making some ARM nommu configurations
not boot since 3.6-rc1. The problem is that user_addr_max returned the biggest
available RAM address which makes some copy_from_user variants fail to read
from XIP memory.
Even in the presence of one of the two fixes the other still makes sense, so
both patches are included here.
This problem was the last one preventing efm32 boot to a prompt with mainline.

make reset control optional for i.MX27
The patch "[media] coda: add reset control support" introduced a build failure
if CONFIG_RESET_CONTROLLER is disabled:
drivers/media/platform/coda.c:3734:2: error: implicit declaration of
function 'devm_reset_control_get'
Since not all SoCs containing CODA VPUs do have a system reset controller,
use devm_reset_control_get_optional to make it optional.

pca954x may be power lost during suspend, so after resume we also suffer
the issue fixed by commit cd823db8b1161ef0d756514d280715a576d65cc3,
"pca954x power-on default is channel 0 connected. If multiple pca954x
muxes are connected to the same physical I2C bus, the parent bus will
see channel 0 devices behind both muxes by default."
What's more, when resume bootloader may also operate the mux, so the
the channel connected after that may not be the one driver thought.
We fix this problem by putting the mux to disconnected state and
clearing last_chan in the resume hook.

The i2c timing values specified in the driver are the minimun values
defined in the I2C specifications. The I2C specification does not
specify any default or maximum values.
Some I2C devices are out of spec, such as the HDMI link of the Toshiba
19AV600 TV, and might not work properly with minimum values.
This patch adds a 10% margin on all the timings in both Normal and Fast modes.
Trial and error method have been used to find the minimum margin necessary to
have the out-of-spec device working, and a security margin has been added.

When the wake-up is triggered by the PMIC RTC, the RTC driver is trying
to read the PMIC interrupt status over I2C and fails because the I2C
controller is not resumed yet.
Let's resume the I2C controller earlier in the _noirq phase
(as other hardwares are doing), so we can properly get the wake-up
condition.

When building on 64 bit architectures the use of bitwise negation generates
constants larger than 32 bits which won't fit in u32s used to represent
32 bit register values on the device. Explicitly cast to let the compiler
