2017-02-28ARM: 8640/1: Add support for CONFIG_DEBUG_VIRTUALFlorian Fainelli
x86 has an option: CONFIG_DEBUG_VIRTUAL to do additional checks on virt_to_phys calls. The goal is to catch users who are calling virt_to_phys on non-linear addresses immediately. This includes caller using __virt_to_phys() on image addresses instead of __pa_symbol(). This is a generally useful debug feature to spot bad code (particulary in drivers). 2017-02-28ARM: 8639/1: Define KERNEL_START and KERNEL_ENDFlorian Fainelli
In preparation for adding CONFIG_DEBUG_VIRTUAL support, define a set of common constants: KERNEL_START and KERNEL_END which abstract CONFIG_XIP_KERNEL vs. !CONFIG_XIP_KERNEL. Update the code where relevant. Acked-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@armlinux.org.uk> Signed-off-by: Florian Fainelli <f.fainelli@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2017-02-28ARM: 8638/1: mtd: lart: Rename partition defines to be prefixed with PART_Florian Fainelli
In preparation for defining KERNEL_START on ARM, rename KERNEL_START to PART_KERNEL_START, and to be consistent, do this for all partition-related constants. 2017-02-28ARM: 8637/1: Adjust memory boundaries after reservationsLaura Abbott
adjust_lowmem_bounds is responsible for setting up the boundary for lowmem/highmem. This needs to be setup before memblock reservations can occur. At the time memblock reservations can occur, memory can also be removed from the system. The lowmem/highmem boundary and end of memory may be affected by this but it is currently not recalculated. On some systems this may be harmless, on others this may result in incorrect ranges being passed to the main memory allocator. Correct this by recalculating the lowmem/highmem boundary after all reservations have been made. 2017-02-28ARM: 8636/1: Cleanup sanity_check_meminfoLaura Abbott
The logic for sanity_check_meminfo has become difficult to follow. Clean up the code so it's more obvious what the code is actually trying to do. Additionally, meminfo is now removed so rename the function to better describe its purpose. 2017-02-28drm/atmel-hlcdc: Simplify the HLCDC layer logicBoris Brezillon
An HLCDC layers in Atmel's nomenclature is either a DRM plane or a 'Post Processing Layer' which can be used to output the results of the HLCDC composition in a memory buffer. atmel_hlcdc_layer.c was designed to be generic enough to be re-usable in both cases, but we're not exposing the post-processing layer yet, and even if we were, I'm not sure the code would provide the necessary tools to manipulate this kind of layer. Moreover, the code in atmel_hlcdc_{plane,layer}.c was designed before the atomic modesetting API, and was trying solve the check-setting/commit-if-ok/rollback-otherwise problem, which is now entirely solved by the existing core infrastructure. And finally, the code in atmel_hlcdc_layer.c is over-complicated compared to what we really need. This rework is a good excuse to simplify it. Note that this rework solves an existing resource leak (leading to a -EBUSY error) which I failed to clearly identify. 2017-02-28drm/i915/dsi: VLV/CHT Only wait for LP00 on MIPI PORT AHans de Goede
On some devices only MIPI PORT C is used, in this case checking the MIPI PORT A CTRL AFE_LATCHOUT bit (there is no such bit for PORT C on VLV/CHT) will result in false positive "DSI LP not going Low" errors as this checks the PORT A clk status. In case both ports are used we have already checked the AFE_LATCHOUT bit when going through the for_each_dsi_port() loop for PORT A and checking the same bit again for PORT C is a no-op. 2017-02-28drm/i915/dsi: Make intel_dsi_enable/disable directly exec VBT sequencesHans de Goede
The drm_panel_enable/disable and drm_panel_prepare/unprepare calls are not fine grained enough to abstract all the different steps we need to take (and VBT sequences we need to exec) properly. So simply remove the panel _enable/disable and prepare/unprepare callbacks and instead export intel_dsi_exec_vbt_sequence() from intel_dsi_panel_vbt.c and call that from intel_dsi_enable/disable(). No functional changes. 2017-02-28drm/i915/dsi: Move intel_dsi_clear_device_ready()Hans de Goede
Move the intel_dsi_clear_device_ready() function to higher up in intel_dsi.c this pairs it with intel_dsi_device_ready(); and pairs intel_dsi_*enable* with intel_dsi_*disable without intel_dsi_clear_device_ready() sitting in the middle of them. This commit purely moves code around, it does not make any changes what-so-ever. 2017-02-28drm/i915/dsi: Add intel_dsi_unprepare() helperHans de Goede
The enable path has an intel_dsi_prepare() helper which prepares various registers for the mode-set. Move the code undoing this to a new intel_dsi_unprepare() helper function for better symmetry between the enable and disable paths. No functional changes. 2017-02-28drm/i915/dsi: Merge intel_dsi_disable/enable into their respective callersHans de Goede
intel_dsi_disable/enable only have one caller, merge them into their respective callers. Change msleep(2) into usleep_range(2000, 5000) to make checkpatch happy, otherwise no functional changes. The main advantage of this change is that it makes it easier to follow all the steps of the panel enable / disable sequence when reading the code. 2017-02-28drm/i915/dsi: Move calling of wait_for_dsi_fifo_empty to mipi_exec_send_packetHans de Goede
Instead of calling wait_for_dsi_fifo_empty on all dsi ports after calling a drm_panel_foo helper which calls VBT sequences, move it to the VBT mipi_exec_send_packet helper, which is the one VBT instruction which actually puts data in the fifo. This results in a nice cleanup making it clearer what all the steps on intel_dsi_enable / disable are and this also makes the VBT code properly wait till a command has actually been send before executing the next steps (typically a delay) in the VBT sequence.
