2025-02-17ALSA: seq: Drop UMP events when no UMP-conversion is setTakashi Iwai
When a destination client is a user client in the legacy MIDI mode and it sets the no-UMP-conversion flag, currently the all UMP events are still passed as-is. But this may confuse the user-space, because the event packet size is different from the legacy mode. Since we cannot handle UMP events in user clients unless it's running in the UMP client mode, we should filter out those events instead of accepting blindly. This patch addresses it by slightly adjusting the conditions for UMP event handling at the event delivery time. 2025-02-17drm/i915: Make sure all planes in use by the joiner have their crtc includedVille Syrjälä
Any active plane needs to have its crtc included in the atomic state. For planes enabled via uapi that is all handler in the core. But when we use a plane for joiner the uapi code things the plane is disabled and therefore doesn't have a crtc. So we need to pull those in by hand. We do it first thing in intel_joiner_add_affected_crtcs() so that any newly added crtc will subsequently pull in all of its joined crtcs as well. The symptoms from failing to do this are: - duct tape in the form of commit 1d5b09f8daf8 ("drm/i915: Fix NULL ptr deref by checking new_crtc_state") - the plane's hw state will get overwritten by the disabled uapi state if it can't find the uapi counterpart plane in the atomic state from where it should copy the correct state Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Reviewed-by: Maarten Lankhorst <maarten.lankhorst@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Ville Syrjälä <ville.syrjala@linux.intel.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20250212164330.16891-2-ville.syrjala@linux.intel.com (cherry picked from commit 91077d1deb5374eb8be00fb391710f00e751dc4b) Signed-off-by: Rodrigo Vivi <rodrigo.vivi@intel.com>

Add locking to `vf610_gpio_direction_input|output()` functions. Without this locking, a race condition exists between concurrent calls to these functions, potentially leading to incorrect GPIO direction settings. To verify the correctness of this fix, a `trylock` patch was applied, where after a couple of reboots the race was confirmed. I.e., one user had to wait before acquiring the lock. With this patch the race has not been encountered. It's worth mentioning that any type of debugging (printing, tracing, etc.) would "resolve"/hide the issue. There are certain registers on AMD Zen systems that can only be accessed through SMN. Introduce a new interface that provides debugfs files for accessing SMN. As this introduces the capability for userspace to manipulate the hardware in unpredictable ways, taint the kernel when writing. 2025-02-17x86/amd_node: Add SMN offsets to exclusive region accessMario Limonciello
Offsets 0x60 and 0x64 are used internally by kernel drivers that call the amd_smn_read() and amd_smn_write() functions. If userspace accesses the regions at the same time as the kernel it may cause malfunctions in drivers using the offsets. Add these offsets to the exclusions so that the kernel is tainted if a non locked down userspace tries to access them. 2025-02-17x86/amd_node, platform/x86/amd/hsmp: Have HSMP use SMN through AMD_NODEYazen Ghannam
The HSMP interface is just an SMN interface with different offsets. Define an HSMP wrapper in the SMN code and have the HSMP platform driver use that rather than a local solution. 2025-02-16ASoC: tas2764: Wait for ramp-down after shutdownHector Martin
When we shut down the amp, we need to wait for the built-in ramp-down before we can remove the TDM clocks. There is no documented status regiter to poll, so the best we can do is a delay. Datasheet says 5.9ms for ramp-down and 1.5ms between shutdown and next startup, so let's do 6ms after mute and 2ms after shutdown. That gives us a cumulative 8ms for ramp-down and guaratees the required minimum shutdown time. 2025-02-16ASoC: tas2764: Power up/down amp on mute opsHector Martin
The ASoC convention is that clocks are removed after codec mute, and power up/down is more about top level power management. For these chips, the "mute" state still expects a TDM clock, and yanking the clock in this state will trigger clock errors. So, do the full shutdown<->mute<->active transition on the mute operation, so the amp is in software shutdown by the time the clocks are removed. This fixes TDM clock errors when streams are stopped. 2025-02-16smb: client: fix chmod(2) regression with ATTR_READONLYPaulo Alcantara
When the user sets a file or directory as read-only (e.g. ~S_IWUGO), the client will set the ATTR_READONLY attribute by sending an SMB2_SET_INFO request to the server in cifs_setattr_{,nounix}(), but cifsInodeInfo::cifsAttrs will be left unchanged as the client will only update the new file attributes in the next call to {smb311_posix,cifs}_get_inode_info() with the new metadata filled in @data parameter. Commit a18280e7fdea ("smb: cilent: set reparse mount points as automounts") mistakenly removed the @data NULL check when calling is_inode_cache_good(), which broke the above case as the new ATTR_READONLY attribute would end up not being updated on files with a read lease. Fix this by updating the inode whenever we have cached metadata in @data parameter.
