2014-01-01net: llc: fix order of evaluation in llc_conn_ac_inc_vr_by_1Daniel Borkmann
Function llc_conn_ac_inc_vr_by_1() evaluates via macro PDU_GET_NEXT_Vr() into ... llc_sk(sk)->vR = ++llc_sk(sk)->vR & 0xffffffffffffff7f ... but the order in which the side effects take place is undefined because there is no intervening sequence point. As llc_sk(sk)->vR is written in llc_sk(sk)->vR (assignment left-hand side) and written in ++llc_sk(sk)->vR & 0xffffffffffffff7f this might possibly yield undefined behavior. The final value of llc_sk(sk)->vR is ambiguous, because, depending on the order of expression evaluation, the increment may occur before, after, or interleaved with the assignment. In C, evaluating such an expression yields undefined behavior. Since we're doing the increment via PDU_GET_NEXT_Vr() macro and the only place it is being used is from llc_conn_ac_inc_vr_by_1(), in order to increment vR by 1 with a follow-up optimized modulo, rewrite the expression into ((vR + 1) & CONST) in order to fix this. 2013-12-31usbnet: mcs7830: rework link state detectionOctavian Purdila
Even with the quirks in commit dabdaf0c (mcs7830: Fix link state detection) there are still spurious link-down events for some chips where the false link-down events count go over a few hundreds. This patch takes a more conservative approach and only looks at link-down events where the link-down state is not combined with other states (e.g. half/full speed, pending frames in SRAM or TX status information valid). In all other cases we assume the link is up. Tested on MCS7830CV-DA (USB ID 9710:7830). 2013-12-31Smack: File receive audit correctionCasey Schaufler
Eric Paris politely points out: Inside smack_file_receive() it seems like you are initting the audit field with LSM_AUDIT_DATA_TASK. And then use smk_ad_setfield_u_fs_path(). Seems like LSM_AUDIT_DATA_PATH would make more sense. (and depending on how it's used fix a crash...) He is correct. This puts things in order. 2013-12-31Smack: Rationalize mount restrictionsCasey Schaufler
The mount restrictions imposed by Smack rely heavily on the use of the filesystem "floor", which is the label that all processes writing to the filesystem must have access to. It turns out that while the "floor" notion is sound, it has yet to be fully implemented and has never been used. The sb_mount and sb_umount hooks only make sense if the filesystem floor is used actively, and it isn't. They can be reintroduced if a rational restriction comes up. Until then, they get removed. The sb_kern_mount hook is required for the option processing. It is too permissive in the case of unprivileged mounts, effectively bypassing the CAP_MAC_ADMIN restrictions if any of the smack options are specified. Unprivileged mounts are no longer allowed to set Smack filesystem options. Additionally, the root and default values are set to the label of the caller, in keeping with the policy that objects get the label of their creator. 2013-12-31vlan: Fix header ops passthru when doing TX VLAN offload.David S. Miller
When the vlan code detects that the real device can do TX VLAN offloads in hardware, it tries to arrange for the real device's header_ops to be invoked directly. But it does so illegally, by simply hooking the real device's header_ops up to the VLAN device. This doesn't work because we will end up invoking a set of header_ops routines which expect a device type which matches the real device, but will see a VLAN device instead. Fix this by providing a pass-thru set of header_ops which will arrange to pass the proper real device instead. To facilitate this add a dev_rebuild_header(). There are implementations which provide a ->cache and ->create but not a ->rebuild (f.e. PLIP). So we need a helper function just like dev_hard_header() to avoid crashes. Use this helper in the one existing place where the header_ops->rebuild was being invoked, the neighbour code. With lots of help from Florian Westphal. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2013-12-31ASoC: imx-spdif: Use snd-soc-dummy CODEC driver to link cardNicolin Chen
This is a quick fix for the below two issues when building spdif as modules. 1) If modprobing modules in order: (Step 1) snd-soc-fsl-spdif -> (Step 2) snd-soc-imx-spdif -> (Step 3) snd-soc-spdif-tx/rx, we will fail to create imx-spdif card and dai link unless we rmmod snd-soc-imx-spdif and modprobe it again due to the execution platform_driver_unregister() in probe() when meeting -EPROBE_DEFER at Step 2. 2) After "imx-spdif sound-spdif.17: dit-hifi <-> 2004000.spdif mapping ok", 'rmmod snd-soc-imx-spdif' would cause kernel dump with warning: WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 1301 at /home/rmk/git/linux-rmk/fs/sysfs/dir.c:915 sysfs_hash_and_remove+0x84/0x90() sysfs: can not remove 'dapm_widget', no directory This should be caused by disordered resourse releasing of the whole link. And trying to unregister the card and then CODEC dev can't fix this issue. Thus this patch just provides a simple fix to these two bugs by using the snd-soc-dummy in the core instead of seperate snd-soc-spdif-tx/rx so that there's no need to handle the registering and unregistering of CODEC or CODEC dai any more.
