2016-03-03fsl/fman: Initialize fman->dev earlierIgal Liberman
Currently, in a case of error, dev_err is using fman->dev before its initialization and "(NULL device *)" is printed. This patch fixes this issue. Signed-off-by: Igal Liberman <igal.liberman@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2016-03-03stmmac: Fix 'eth0: No PHY found' regressionGabriel Fernandez
This patch manages the case when you have an Ethernet MAC with a "fixed link", and not connected to a normal MDIO-managed PHY device. The test of phy_bus_name was not helpful because it was never affected and replaced by the mdio test node. Change ALSA driver to use Media Controller API to share media resources with DVB and V4L2 drivers on a AU0828 media device. Media Controller specific initialization is done after sound card is registered. ALSA creates Media interface and entity function graph nodes for Control, Mixer, PCM Playback, and PCM Capture devices. snd_usb_hw_params() will call Media Controller enable source handler interface to request the media resource. If resource request is granted, it will release it from snd_usb_hw_free(). If resource is busy, -EBUSY is returned. Media specific cleanup is done in usb_audio_disconnect(). 2016-03-03[media] Revert "[media] tvp5150: document input connectors DT bindings"Javier Martinez Canillas
This reverts commit 82c2ffeb217a ("[media] tvp5150: document input connectors DT bindings") since the DT binding is too device driver specific and should instead be more generic and use the bindings in Documentation/devicetree/bindings/display/connector/ and linked to the tvp5150 using the OF graph port and endpoints. There are still ongoing discussions about how the input connectors will be supported by the Media Controller framework so until that is settled, it is better to revert the connectors portion of the bindings to avoid known to be broken bindings docs to hit mainline. 2016-03-03ovl: copy new uid/gid into overlayfs runtime inodeKonstantin Khlebnikov

2016-03-03ovl: ignore lower entries when checking purity of non-directory entriesKonstantin Khlebnikov
After rename file dentry still holds reference to lower dentry from previous location. This doesn't matter for data access because data comes from upper dentry. But this stale lower dentry taints dentry at new location and turns it into non-pure upper. Such file leaves visible whiteout entry after remove in directory which shouldn't have whiteouts at all. Overlayfs already tracks pureness of file location in oe->opaque. This patch just uses that for detecting actual path type. Comment from Vivek Goyal's patch: Here are the details of the problem. Do following. $ mkdir upper lower work merged upper/dir/ $ touch lower/test $ sudo mount -t overlay overlay -olowerdir=lower,upperdir=upper,workdir= work merged $ mv merged/test merged/dir/ $ rm merged/dir/test $ ls -l merged/dir/ /usr/bin/ls: cannot access merged/dir/test: No such file or directory total 0 c????????? ? ? ? ? ? test Basic problem seems to be that once a file has been unlinked, a whiteout has been left behind which was not needed and hence it becomes visible. Whiteout is visible because parent dir is of not type MERGE, hence od->is_real is set during ovl_dir_open(). And that means ovl_iterate() passes on iterate handling directly to underlying fs. Underlying fs does not know/filter whiteouts so it becomes visible to user. Why did we leave a whiteout to begin with when we should not have. ovl_do_remove() checks for OVL_TYPE_PURE_UPPER() and does not leave whiteout if file is pure upper. In this case file is not found to be pure upper hence whiteout is left. So why file was not PURE_UPPER in this case? I think because dentry is still carrying some leftover state which was valid before rename. For example, od->numlower was set to 1 as it was a lower file. After rename, this state is not valid anymore as there is no such file in lower. 2016-03-03IB/{core, mlx5}: Fix input len in vendor part of create_qp/srqMajd Dibbiny
Currently, the inlen field of the vendor's part of the command doesn't match the command buffer. This happens because the inlen accommodates ib_uverbs_cmd_hdr which is deducted from the in buffer. This is problematic since the vendor function could be called either from the legacy verb (where the input length mismatches the actual length) or by the extended verb (where the length matches). The vendor has no idea which function calls it and therefore has no way to know how the length variable should be treated. Fixing this by aligning the inlen to the correct length. All vendor drivers either assumed that inlen >= sizeof(vendor_uhw_cmd) or just failed wrongly (mlx5) and fixed in this patch. 2016-03-03tools/power turbostat: fix various build warningsColin Ian King
When building with gcc 6 we're getting various build warnings that just require some trivial function declaration and call fixes: turbostat.c: In function ‘dump_cstate_pstate_config_info’: turbostat.c:1973:1: warning: type of ‘family’ defaults to ‘int’ dump_cstate_pstate_config_info(family, model) turbostat.c:1973:1: warning: type of ‘model’ defaults to ‘int’ turbostat.c: In function ‘get_tdp’: turbostat.c:2145:8: warning: type of ‘model’ defaults to ‘int’ double get_tdp(model) turbostat.c: In function ‘perf_limit_reasons_probe’: turbostat.c:2259:6: warning: type of ‘family’ defaults to ‘int’ void perf_limit_reasons_probe(family, model) turbostat.c:2259:6: warning: type of ‘model’ defaults to ‘int’ Signed-off-by: Colin Ian King <colin.king@canonical.com> Cc: Matt Fleming <matt@codeblueprint.co.uk> Cc: Peter Zijlstra <peterz@infradead.org> Link: http://lkml.kernel.org/n/tip-wbicer8n0s9qe6ql8h9x478e@git.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com>
2016-03-03perf tests: Initialize sa.sa_flagsColin Ian King
The sa_flags field is not being initialized, so a garbage value is being passed to sigaction. Initialize it to zero. 2016-03-03perf test: Fix hists related entriesArnaldo Carvalho de Melo
That got broken by d3a72fd8187b ("perf report: Fix indentation of dynamic entries in hierarchy"), by using the evlist in setup_sorting() without checking if it is NULL, as done in some 'perf test' entries: $ find tools/ -name "*.c" | xargs grep 'setup_sorting(NULL);' tools/perf/tests/hists_output.c: setup_sorting(NULL); tools/perf/tests/hists_output.c: setup_sorting(NULL); tools/perf/tests/hists_output.c: setup_sorting(NULL); tools/perf/tests/hists_output.c: setup_sorting(NULL); tools/perf/tests/hists_output.c: setup_sorting(NULL); tools/perf/tests/hists_cumulate.c: setup_sorting(NULL); tools/perf/tests/hists_cumulate.c: setup_sorting(NULL); tools/perf/tests/hists_cumulate.c: setup_sorting(NULL); tools/perf/tests/hists_cumulate.c: setup_sorting(NULL); $ Fix it. 2016-03-03tools lib traceevent: Fix output of %llu for 64 bit values read on 32 bit ↵Steven Rostedt (Red Hat)
machines When a long value is read on 32 bit machines for 64 bit output, the parsing needs to change "%lu" into "%llu", as the value is read natively. Unfortunately, if "%llu" is already there, the code will add another "l" to it and fail to parse it properly.
