2021-11-06can: etas_es58x: es58x_rx_err_msg(): fix memory leak in error pathVincent Mailhol
In es58x_rx_err_msg(), if can->do_set_mode() fails, the function directly returns without calling netif_rx(skb). This means that the skb previously allocated by alloc_can_err_skb() is not freed. In other terms, this is a memory leak. This patch simply removes the return statement in the error branch and let the function continue. Issue was found with GCC -fanalyzer, please follow the link below for details. 2021-11-06xhci: Fix USB 3.1 enumeration issues by increasing roothub power-on-good delayMathias Nyman
Some USB 3.1 enumeration issues were reported after the hub driver removed the minimum 100ms limit for the power-on-good delay. Since commit 90d28fb53d4a ("usb: core: reduce power-on-good delay time of root hub") the hub driver sets the power-on-delay based on the bPwrOn2PwrGood value in the hub descriptor. xhci driver has a 20ms bPwrOn2PwrGood value for both roothubs based on xhci spec section 5.4.8, but it's clearly not enough for the USB 3.1 devices, causing enumeration issues. Tests indicate full 100ms delay is needed. 2021-11-05clk: qcom: gcc-msm8996: Drop (again) gcc_aggre1_pnoc_ahb_clkDmitry Baryshkov
The gcc_aggre1_pnoc_ahb_clk is crucial for the proper MSM8996/APQ8096 functioning. If it gets disabled, several subsytems will stop working (including eMMC/SDCC and USB). There are no in-kernel users of this clock, so it is much simpler to remove from the kernel. The clock was first removed in the commit 9e60de1cf270 ("clk: qcom: Remove gcc_aggre1_pnoc_ahb_clk from msm8996") by Stephen Boyd, but got added back in the commit b567752144e3 ("clk: qcom: Add some missing gcc clks for msm8996") by Rajendra Nayak. 2021-11-05module: change to print useful messages from elf_validity_check()Shuah Khan
elf_validity_check() checks ELF headers for errors and ELF Spec. compliance and if any of them fail it returns -ENOEXEC from all of these error paths. Almost all of them don't print any messages. When elf_validity_check() returns an error, load_module() prints an error message without error code. It is hard to determine why the module ELF structure is invalid, even if load_module() prints the error code which is -ENOEXEC in all of these cases. Change to print useful error messages from elf_validity_check() to clearly say what went wrong and why the ELF validity checks failed. Remove the load_module() error message which is no longer needed. This patch includes changes to fix build warns on 32-bit platforms: warning: format '%llu' expects argument of type 'long long unsigned int', but argument 3 has type 'Elf32_Off' {aka 'unsigned int'} Reported-by: kernel test robot <lkp@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Shuah Khan <skhan@linuxfoundation.org> Signed-off-by: Luis Chamberlain <mcgrof@kernel.org>
2021-11-05module: fix validate_section_offset() overflow bug on 64-bitShuah Khan
validate_section_offset() uses unsigned long local variable to add/store shdr->sh_offset and shdr->sh_size on all platforms. unsigned long is too short when sh_offset is Elf64_Off which would be the case on 64bit ELF headers. Without this fix applied we were shorting the design of modules to have section headers placed within the 32-bit boundary (4 GiB) instead of 64-bits when on 64-bit architectures (which allows for up to 16,777,216 TiB). In practice this just meant we were limiting modules sections to below 4 GiB even on 64-bit systems. This then should not really affect any real-world use case as modules these days obviously should likely never exceed 1 GiB in size overall. A specially crafted invalid module might succeed to skip validation in validate_section_offset() due to this mistake, but in such case no impact is observed through code inspection given the correct data types are used for the copy of the module when needed on move_module() when the section type is not SHT_NOBITS (which indicates no the section occupies no space on the file). Fix the overflow problem using the right size local variable when CONFIG_64BIT is defined. 2021-11-05drm/amdgpu: correctly toggle gfx on/off around RLC_SPM_* register accessEvan Quan
As part of the ib padding process, accessing the RLC_SPM_* register may trigger gfx hang. Since gfxoff may be already kicked during the whole period. To address that, we manually toggle gfx on/off around the RLC_SPM_* register access. This can resolve the gfx hang issue observed on running Talos with RDP launched in parallel. 2021-11-05drm/amd/pm: Correct DPMS disable IP version checkMario Limonciello
Previously there was a check based on chip # for chips that aligned to >=CHIP_NAVI10 to have RLC stopped as part of DPMS check. This was because of gfxclk being controlled by RLC in the newer designs. As part of IP version checking though, this got changed to match IP version for SMU. Because Renoir designs also include smu11 that meant that even GFX9 started to stop RLC earlier. Adjust to match GFX IP version instead of SMU IP version to restore the previous behavior. [Why] csb bo is not unpinned in gfx 9. It will lead to pin_count leak on driver unload. [How] Call bo_free_kernel corresponding to bo_create_kernel in gfx_rlc_init_csb. 2021-11-05drm/amdkfd: avoid recursive lock in migrations back to RAMAlex Sierra
[Why]: When we call hmm_range_fault to map memory after a migration, we don't expect memory to be migrated again as a result of hmm_range_fault. The driver ensures that all memory is in GPU-accessible locations so that no migration should be needed. However, there is one corner case where hmm_range_fault can unexpectedly cause a migration from DEVICE_PRIVATE back to system memory due to a write-fault when a system memory page in the same range was mapped read-only (e.g. COW). Ranges with individual pages in different locations are usually the result of failed page migrations (e.g. page lock contention). The unexpected migration back to system memory causes a deadlock from recursive locking in our driver. [How]: Creating a task reference new member under svm_range_list struct. Setting this with "current" reference, right before the hmm_range_fault is called. This member is checked against "current" reference at svm_migrate_to_ram callback function. If equal, the migration will be ignored. Signed-off-by: Alex Sierra <alex.sierra@amd.com> Reviewed-by: Felix Kuehling <Felix.Kuehling@amd.com> Signed-off-by: Alex Deucher <alexander.deucher@amd.com>
