2020-11-06nexthop: Emit a notification when a nexthop group is replacedIdo Schimmel
Emit a notification in the nexthop notification chain when an existing nexthop group is replaced. The notification is emitted after all the validation checks were performed, but before the new configuration (i.e., 'struct nh_grp') is pointed at by the old shell (i.e., 'struct nexthop'). This prevents the need to perform rollback in case the notification is vetoed. 2020-11-06nexthop: Emit a notification when a nexthop is addedIdo Schimmel
Emit a notification in the nexthop notification chain when a new nexthop is added (not replaced). The nexthop can either be a new group or a single nexthop. The notification is sent after the nexthop is inserted into the red-black tree, as listeners might need to callback into the nexthop code with the nexthop ID in order to mark the nexthop as offloaded. A 'REPLACE' notification is emitted instead of 'ADD' as the distinction between the two is not important for in-kernel listeners. In case the listener is not familiar with the encoded nexthop ID, it can simply treat it as a new one. This is also consistent with the route offload API. 2020-11-06rtnetlink: Add RTNH_F_TRAP flagIdo Schimmel
The flag indicates to user space that the nexthop is not programmed to forward packets in hardware, but rather to trap them to the CPU. This is needed, for example, when the MAC of the nexthop neighbour is not resolved and packets should reach the CPU to trigger neighbour resolution. The flag will be used in subsequent patches by netdevsim to test nexthop objects programming to device drivers and in the future by mlxsw as well. 2020-11-06nexthop: Add nexthop notification data structuresIdo Schimmel
Add data structures that will be used for nexthop replace and delete notifications in the previously introduced nexthop notification chain. New data structures are added instead of passing the existing nexthop code structures directly for several reasons. First, the existing structures encode a lot of bookkeeping information which is irrelevant for listeners of the notification chain. Second, the existing structures can be changed without worrying about introducing regressions in listeners since they are not accessed directly by them. Third, listeners of the notification chain do not need to each parse the relatively complex nexthop code structures. They are passing the required information in a simplified way. Note that a single 'has_encap' bit is added instead of the actual encapsulation information since current listeners do not support such nexthops. 2020-11-06fscrypt: remove reachable WARN in fscrypt_setup_iv_ino_lblk_32_key()Eric Biggers
I_CREATING isn't actually set until the inode has been assigned an inode number and inserted into the inode hash table. So the WARN_ON() in fscrypt_setup_iv_ino_lblk_32_key() is wrong, and it can trigger when creating an encrypted file on ext4. Remove it. This was sometimes causing xfstest generic/602 to fail on ext4. I didn't notice it before because due to a separate oversight, new inodes that haven't been assigned an inode number yet don't necessarily have i_ino == 0 as I had thought, so by chance I never saw the test fail. 2020-11-06null_blk: Fix scheduling in atomic with zoned modeDamien Le Moal
Commit aa1c09cb65e2 ("null_blk: Fix locking in zoned mode") changed zone locking to using the potentially sleeping wait_on_bit_io() function. This is acceptable when memory backing is enabled as the device queue is in that case marked as blocking, but this triggers a scheduling while in atomic context with memory backing disabled. Fix this by relying solely on the device zone spinlock for zone information protection without temporarily releasing this lock around null_process_cmd() execution in null_zone_write(). This is OK to do since when memory backing is disabled, command processing does not block and the memory backing lock nullb->lock is unused. This solution avoids the overhead of having to mark a zoned null_blk device queue as blocking when memory backing is unused. This patch also adds comments to the zone locking code to explain the unusual locking scheme. 2020-11-06tty: serial: imx: enable earlycon by default if IMX_SERIAL_CONSOLE is enabledLucas Stach
Since 699cc4dfd140 (tty: serial: imx: add imx earlycon driver), the earlycon part of imx serial is a separate driver and isn't necessarily enabled anymore when the console is enabled. This causes users to loose the earlycon functionality when upgrading their kenrel configuration via oldconfig. Enable earlycon by default when IMX_SERIAL_CONSOLE is enabled. 2020-11-06serial: 8250_mtk: Fix uart_get_baud_rate warningClaire Chang
Mediatek 8250 port supports speed higher than uartclk / 16. If the baud rates in both the new and the old termios setting are higher than uartclk / 16, the WARN_ON in uart_get_baud_rate() will be triggered. Passing NULL as the old termios so uart_get_baud_rate() will use uartclk / 16 - 1 as the new baud rate which will be replaced by the original baud rate later by tty_termios_encode_baud_rate() in mtk8250_set_termios(). 2020-11-06tpm_tis: Disable interrupts on ThinkPad T490sJerry Snitselaar
There is a misconfiguration in the bios of the gpio pin used for the interrupt in the T490s. When interrupts are enabled in the tpm_tis driver code this results in an interrupt storm. This was initially reported when we attempted to enable the interrupt code in the tpm_tis driver, which previously wasn't setting a flag to enable it. Due to the reports of the interrupt storm that code was reverted and we went back to polling instead of using interrupts. Now that we know the T490s problem is a firmware issue, add code to check if the system is a T490s and disable interrupts if that is the case. This will allow us to enable interrupts for everyone else. If the user has a fixed bios they can force the enabling of interrupts with tpm_tis.interrupts=1 on the kernel command line. 2020-11-06bpf: Add tests for task_local_storageKP Singh
The test exercises the syscall based map operations by creating a pidfd for the current process. For verifying kernel / LSM functionality, the test implements a simple MAC policy which denies an executable from unlinking itself. The LSM program bprm_committed_creds sets a task_local_storage with a pointer to the inode. This is then used to detect if the task is trying to unlink itself in the inode_unlink LSM hook. The test copies /bin/rm to /tmp and executes it in a child thread with the intention of deleting itself. A successful test should prevent the the running executable from deleting itself. The bpf programs are also updated to call bpf_spin_{lock, unlock} to trigger the verfier checks for spin locks. The temporary file is cleaned up later in the test. 2020-11-06bpf: Implement get_current_task_btf and RET_PTR_TO_BTF_IDKP Singh
The currently available bpf_get_current_task returns an unsigned integer which can be used along with BPF_CORE_READ to read data from the task_struct but still cannot be used as an input argument to a helper that accepts an ARG_PTR_TO_BTF_ID of type task_struct. In order to implement this helper a new return type, RET_PTR_TO_BTF_ID, is added. This is similar to RET_PTR_TO_BTF_ID_OR_NULL but does not require checking the nullness of returned pointer. 2020-11-06bpf: Implement task local storageKP Singh
Similar to bpf_local_storage for sockets and inodes add local storage for task_struct. The life-cycle of storage is managed with the life-cycle of the task_struct. i.e. the storage is destroyed along with the owning task with a callback to the bpf_task_storage_free from the task_free LSM hook. The BPF LSM allocates an __rcu pointer to the bpf_local_storage in the security blob which are now stackable and can co-exist with other LSMs. The userspace map operations can be done by using a pid fd as a key passed to the lookup, update and delete operations. 2020-11-06bpf: Allow LSM programs to use bpf spin locksKP Singh
Usage of spin locks was not allowed for tracing programs due to insufficient preemption checks. The verifier does not currently prevent LSM programs from using spin locks, but the helpers are not exposed via bpf_lsm_func_proto. Based on the discussion in [1], non-sleepable LSM programs should be able to use bpf_spin_{lock, unlock}. Sleepable LSM programs can be preempted which means that allowng spin locks will need more work (disabling preemption and the verifier ensuring that no sleepable helpers are called when a spin lock is held). 2020-11-06KVM: arm64: Check RAZ visibility in ID register accessorsAndrew Jones
The instruction encodings of ID registers are preallocated. Until an encoding is assigned a purpose the register is RAZ. KVM's general ID register accessor functions already support both paths, RAZ or not. If for each ID register we can determine if it's RAZ or not, then all ID registers can build on the general functions. The register visibility function allows us to check whether a register should be completely hidden or not, extending it to also report when the register should be RAZ or not allows us to use it for ID registers as well. Check for RAZ visibility in the ID register accessor functions, allowing the RAZ case to be handled in a generic way for all system registers. The new REG_RAZ flag will be used in a later patch. This patch has no intended functional change. 2020-11-06KVM: arm64: Don't hide ID registers from userspaceAndrew Jones
ID registers are RAZ until they've been allocated a purpose, but that doesn't mean they should be removed from the KVM_GET_REG_LIST list. So far we only have one register, SYS_ID_AA64ZFR0_EL1, that is hidden from userspace when its function, SVE, is not present. Expose SYS_ID_AA64ZFR0_EL1 to userspace as RAZ when SVE is not implemented. Removing the userspace visibility checks is enough to reexpose it, as it will already return zero to userspace when SVE is not present. The register already behaves as RAZ for the guest when SVE is not present. Sometimes we would get the following flow when doing an i2cset: 0x1 STATUS SLAVE_ACTIVITY=0x1 : RAW_INTR_STAT=0x514 : INTR_STAT=0x4 I2C_SLAVE_WRITE_RECEIVED 0x1 STATUS SLAVE_ACTIVITY=0x0 : RAW_INTR_STAT=0x714 : INTR_STAT=0x204 I2C_SLAVE_WRITE_REQUESTED I2C_SLAVE_WRITE_RECEIVED Documentation/i2c/slave-interface.rst says that I2C_SLAVE_WRITE_REQUESTED, which is mandatory, should be sent while the data did not arrive yet. It means in a write-request I2C_SLAVE_WRITE_REQUESTED should be reported before any I2C_SLAVE_WRITE_RECEIVED. By the way, I2C_SLAVE_STOP didn't be reported in the above case because DW_IC_INTR_STAT was not 0x200. dev->status can be used to record the current state, especially Designware I2C controller has no interrupts to identify a write-request. This patch makes not only I2C_SLAVE_WRITE_REQUESTED been reported first when IC_INTR_RX_FULL is rising and dev->status isn't STATUS_WRITE_IN_PROGRESS but also I2C_SLAVE_STOP been reported when a STOP condition is received. 2020-11-06mac80211: assure that certain drivers adhere to DONT_REORDER flagMathy Vanhoef
Some drivers use skb->priority to determine on which queue to send a frame. An example is mt76x2u (this was tested on an AWUS036ACM). This means these drivers currently do not adhere to the DONT_REORDER flag. To fix this, we do not set skb->priority based on the QoS TID of injected frames when the DONT_REORDER flag is set. 2020-11-06mac80211: don't overwrite QoS TID of injected framesMathy Vanhoef
Currently ieee80211_set_qos_hdr sets the QoS TID of all frames based on the value assigned to skb->priority. This means it will also overwrite the QoS TID of injected frames. The commit 753ffad3d624 ("mac80211: fix TID field in monitor mode transmit") prevented injected frames from being modified because of this by setting skb->priority to the TID of the injected frame, which assured the QoS TID will not be changed to a different value. Unfortunately, this workaround complicates the handling of injected frames because we can't set skb->priority without affecting the TID value in the QoS field of injected frames. To avoid this, and to simplify the next patch, detect if a frame is injected in ieee80211_set_qos_hdr and if so do not change its QoS field.
