2012-04-13sparc64: Eliminate obsolete __handle_softirq() functionPaul E. McKenney
The invocation of softirq is now handled by irq_exit(), so there is no need for sparc64 to invoke it on the trap-return path. In fact, doing so is a bug because if the trap occurred in the idle loop, this invocation can result in lockdep-RCU failures. The problem is that RCU ignores idle CPUs, and the sparc64 trap-return path to the softirq handlers fails to tell RCU that the CPU must be considered non-idle while those handlers are executing. This means that RCU is ignoring any RCU read-side critical sections in those handlers, which in turn means that RCU-protected data can be yanked out from under those read-side critical sections. The shiny new lockdep-RCU ability to detect RCU read-side critical sections that RCU is ignoring located this problem. 2012-04-13brcm80211: smac: only provide valid regulatory hintArend van Spriel
The driver provides a regulatory hint to cfg80211 as obtained from the SPROM. Mostly, this will be a two-letter ISO country code. However, it may obtain special country code similar to the world regulatory domain as used in cfg80211. This patch avoids setting these special codes as the hint is lost to cfg80211. The brcmsmac driver provides the country code from sprom as a regulatory hint to cfg80211. When brcmsmac does not find a country code entry in the sprom it passes 'US' as regulatory hint. 2012-04-13ath9k_hw: Remove BTCOEX initvalsSujith Manoharan
The MAX_TXPWR table for BTCOEX is not needed for AR9462. Programming these values to the HW results in undesirable behavior - for example, large number of delimiter/data underruns are seen in AES-CCMP mode. Also, registers like AR_PCU_MISC_MODE2 return 0xdeadbeef after the BTCOEX_MAX power table is programmed to the HW, and frames being transmitted end up being looped back to the RX engine, an example being beacon frames in IBSS mode. I noticed a possible issue in the status count field management of the ieee80211_tx_info data structure. In particular, when the AGGR processing is employed, status.rates[].count is set just for the first frame and not for others belonging to the same burst, leading to wrong statistic data in the mac80211 debug file system. 2012-04-13net: smsc911x: fix skb handling in receive pathWill Deacon
The SMSC911x driver resets the ->head, ->data and ->tail pointers in the skb on the reset path in order to avoid buffer overflow due to packet padding performed by the hardware. This patch fixes the receive path so that the skb pointers are fixed up after the data has been read from the device, The error path is also fixed to use number of words consistently and prevent erroneous FIFO fastforwarding when skipping over bad data. 2012-04-13brcm80211: smac: resume transmit fifo upon receiving framesArend van Spriel
There have been reports about not being able to use access-points on channel 12 and 13 or having connectivity issues when these channels were part of the selected regulatory domain. Upon switching to these channels the brcmsmac driver suspends the transmit dma fifos. This patch resumes them upon handing over the first received beacon to mac80211. This patch is to be applied to the stable tree for kernel versions 3.2 and 3.3. 2012-04-13udp: intoduce udp_encap_needed static_keyEric Dumazet
Most machines dont use UDP encapsulation (L2TP) Adds a static_key so that udp_queue_rcv_skb() doesnt have to perform a test if L2TP never setup the encap_rcv on a socket. Idea of this patch came after Simon Horman proposal to add a hook on TCP as well. If static_key is not yet enabled, the fast path does a single JMP . When static_key is enabled, JMP destination is patched to reach the real encap_type/encap_rcv logic, possibly adding cache misses.
