2023-04-23Bluetooth: NXP: Add protocol support for NXP Bluetooth chipsetsNeeraj Sanjay Kale
This adds a driver based on serdev driver for the NXP BT serial protocol based on running H:4, which can enable the built-in Bluetooth device inside an NXP BT chip. This driver has Power Save feature that will put the chip into sleep state whenever there is no activity for 2000ms, and will be woken up when any activity is to be initiated over UART. This driver enables the power save feature by default by sending the vendor specific commands to the chip during setup. During setup, the driver checks if a FW is already running on the chip by waiting for the bootloader signature, and downloads device specific FW file into the chip over UART if bootloader signature is received.. 2023-04-23serdev: Add method to assert break signal over tty UART portNeeraj Sanjay Kale
Adds serdev_device_break_ctl() and an implementation for ttyport. This function simply calls the break_ctl in tty layer, which can assert a break signal over UART-TX line, if the tty and the underlying platform and UART peripheral supports this operation. 2023-04-23Bluetooth: btrtl: add support for the RTL8723CSVasily Khoruzhick
The Realtek RTL8723CS is a SDIO WiFi chip. It also contains a Bluetooth module which is connected via UART to the host. It shares lmp subversion with 8703B, so Realtek's userspace initialization tool (rtk_hciattach) differentiates varieties of RTL8723CS (CG, VF, XX) with RTL8703B using vendor's command to read chip type. Also this chip declares support for some features it doesn't support so add a quirk to indicate that these features are broken. RTL8723CS reports max_page = 2 and declares support for sync train and secure connection, but it responds with either garbage or with error in status on corresponding commands. 2023-04-23Bluetooth: hci_sync: Don't wait peer's reply when powering offArchie Pusaka
Currently, when we initiate disconnection, we will wait for the peer's reply unless when we are suspending, where we fire and forget the disconnect request. A similar case is when adapter is powering off. However, we still wait for the peer's reply in this case. Therefore, if the peer is unresponsive, the command will time out and the power off sequence will fail, causing "bluetooth powered on by itself" to users. This patch makes the host doesn't wait for the peer's reply when the disconnection reason is powering off. 2023-04-24MAINTAINERS: replace maintainer of FireWire subsystemTakashi Sakamoto
In the last few years, I have reviewed patches for FireWire subsystem and requested sound subsystem maintainer to sent them to mainline, since FireWire subsystem maintainer has been long absent. This situation is not preferable since we have some user of sound hardware in IEEE 1394 bus. I will stand for the maintainer, and work for FireWire core functions and 1394 OHCI driver, as well as sound drivers. This commit replaces the corresponding entry. As you know, IEEE 1394 is enough legacy. I would like to schedule the end of my work in the subsystem. My effort will last next 6 years. In 2026, I will start strong announcement for users to migrate their work load from IEEE 1394 bus (e.g. by purchasing alternative devices in USB and hardening system for them), then in 2029 let me resign the maintainer and close Linux 1394 project. My current work focuses on real time data (sampling data) transmission protocol in packet-oriented communication, thus I would provide less help to implementations for the other type of protocol; i.e. IPv4/IPv6 over IEEE 1394 bus (firewire-net), SCSI transport protocol over IEEE 1394 bus (firewire-sbp2) and iSCSI target (sbp-target). If receiving few objections from developers, I will start my work to send fixes for v6.3 prepatch, and PR for future v6.4 or later. I'm pleased if getting any help until the end. 2023-04-23ubifs: Fix memleak when insert_old_idx() failedZhihao Cheng
Following process will cause a memleak for copied up znode: dirty_cow_znode zn = copy_znode(c, znode); err = insert_old_idx(c, zbr->lnum, zbr->offs); if (unlikely(err)) return ERR_PTR(err); // No one refers to zn. Fetch a reproducer in [Link]. Function copy_znode() is split into 2 parts: resource allocation and znode replacement, insert_old_idx() is split in similar way, so resource cleanup could be done in error handling path without corrupting metadata(mem & disk). It's okay that old index inserting is put behind of add_idx_dirt(), old index is used in layout_leb_in_gaps(), so the two processes do not depend on each other. 2023-04-23Revert "ubifs: dirty_cow_znode: Fix memleak in error handling path"Zhihao Cheng
This reverts commit 122deabfe1428 (ubifs: dirty_cow_znode: Fix memleak in error handling path). After commit 122deabfe1428 applied, if insert_old_idx() failed, old index neither exists in TNC nor in old-index tree. Which means that old index node could be overwritten in layout_leb_in_gaps(), then ubifs image will be corrupted in power-cut. 2023-04-23tools/testing/cxl: Require CONFIG_DEBUG_FSAlison Schofield
The cxl_mem driver uses debugfs to support poison inject and clear. Add debugfs to the list of required symbols so that cxl_test can emulate those poison operations. 2023-04-23tools/testing/cxl: Add a sysfs attr to test poison inject limitsAlison Schofield
CXL devices may report a maximum number of addresses that a device allows to be poisoned using poison injection. When cxl_test creates mock CXL memory devices, it defaults to MOCK_INJECT_DEV_MAX==88 for all mocked memdevs. Add a sysfs attribute, poison_inject_max to module cxl_mock_mem so that users can set a custom device injection limit. Fail, and return -EBUSY, if the mock poison list is not empty. /sys/bus/platform/drivers/cxl_mock_mem/poison_inject_max A simple usage model is to set the attribute before running a test in order to emulate a device's poison handling. 2023-04-23tools/testing/cxl: Use injected poison for get poison listAlison Schofield
Prior to poison inject support, the mock of 'Get Poison List' returned a poison list containing a single mocked error record. Following the addition of poison inject and clear support to the mock driver, use the mock_poison_list[], rather than faking an error record. Mock_poison_list[] list tracks the actual poison inject and clear requests issued by userspace.
