In patch #2, this problem is fixed for PRIO by first attempting to create a default Qdisc and only falling back to noop when that fails. This pattern of attempting to create an invisible FIFO, using NOOP only as a fallback, is also seen in some other Qdiscs. The only driver currently offloading PRIO (and thus presumably the only one impacted by this) is mlxsw. 2020-01-08mlxsw: spectrum_qdisc: Ignore grafting of invisible FIFOPetr Machata
The following patch will change PRIO to replace a removed Qdisc with an invisible FIFO, instead of NOOP. mlxsw will see this replacement due to the graft message that is generated. But because FIFO does not issue its own REPLACE message, when the graft operation takes place, the Qdisc that mlxsw tracks under the indicated band is still the old one. The child handle (0:0) therefore does not match, and mlxsw rejects the graft operation, which leads to an extack message: Warning: Offloading graft operation failed. Fix by ignoring the invisible children in the PRIO graft handler. The DESTROY message of the removed Qdisc is going to follow shortly and handle the removal. Let's limit TCA_FQ_QUANTUM to no more than 1 << 20 : This max value should limit risks of breaking user setups while fixing this bug. 2020-01-08usb: missing parentheses in USE_NEW_SCHEMEQi Zhou
According to bd0e6c9614b9 ("usb: hub: try old enumeration scheme first for high speed devices") the kernel will try the old enumeration scheme first for high speed devices. This can happen when a high speed device is plugged in. But due to missing parentheses in the USE_NEW_SCHEME define, this logic can get messed up and the incorrect result happens. 2020-01-08usb: musb: fix idling for suspend after disconnect interruptTony Lindgren
When disconnected as USB B-device, suspend interrupt should come before diconnect interrupt, because the DP/DM pins are shorter than the VBUS/GND pins on the USB connectors. But we sometimes get a suspend interrupt after disconnect interrupt. In that case we have devctl set to 99 with VBUS still valid and musb_pm_runtime_check_session() wrongly thinks we have an active session. We have no other interrupts after disconnect coming in this case at least with the omap2430 glue. Let's fix the issue by checking the interrupt status again with delayed work for the devctl 99 case. In the suspend after disconnect case the devctl session bit has cleared by then and musb can idle. For a typical USB B-device connect case we just continue with normal interrupts. Capturing the restrictions of the BSpec pages bellow: SKL and CNL do not support MST in DDI E, DDI E only support 2 lanes and it is mostly used to support a 4 lanes eDP panel together with DDI A. ICL's DDI E support MST just like other ports but DDI A is still eDP and MIPI only. TGL supports MST in any DDI, including DDI A but TGL has it's own ddi_pre_enable_dp function already without any warning. 2020-01-08drm/i915/display: Force the state compute phase once to enable PSRJosé Roberto de Souza
Recent improvements in the state tracking in i915 caused PSR to not be enabled when reusing firmware/BIOS modeset, this is due to all initial commits returning ealier in intel_atomic_check() as needs_modeset() is always false. To fix that here forcing the state compute phase in CRTC that is driving the eDP that supports PSR once. Enable or disable PSR do not require a fullmodeset, so user will still experience glitch free boot process plus the power savings that PSR brings. 2020-01-08btrfs: fix invalid removal of root refJosef Bacik
If we have the following sequence of events btrfs sub create A btrfs sub create A/B btrfs sub snap A C mkdir C/foo mv A/B C/foo rm -rf * We will end up with a transaction abort. The reason for this is because we create a root ref for B pointing to A. When we create a snapshot of C we still have B in our tree, but because the root ref points to A and not C we will make it appear to be empty. The problem happens when we move B into C. This removes the root ref for B pointing to A and adds a ref of B pointing to C. When we rmdir C we'll see that we have a ref to our root and remove the root ref, despite not actually matching our reference name. Now btrfs_del_root_ref() allowing this to work is a bug as well, however we know that this inode does not actually point to a root ref in the first place, so we shouldn't be calling btrfs_del_root_ref() in the first place and instead simply look up our dir index for this item and do the rest of the removal. 2020-01-08btrfs: rework arguments of btrfs_unlink_subvolJosef Bacik
btrfs_unlink_subvol takes the name of the dentry and the root objectid based on what kind of inode this is, either a real subvolume link or a empty one that we inherited as a snapshot. We need to fix how we unlink in the case for BTRFS_EMPTY_SUBVOL_DIR_OBJECTID in the future, so rework btrfs_unlink_subvol to just take the dentry and handle getting the right objectid given the type of inode this is. There is no functional change here, simply pushing the work into btrfs_unlink_subvol() proper. Commit 05193dc38197 ("drm/bridge: Make the bridge chain a double-linked list") patched the bridge chain logic to use a double-linked list instead of a single-linked list. This change induced changes to the Exynos driver which was manually resetting the encoder->bridge element to NULL to control the enable/disable sequence of the bridge chain. During this conversion, 2 bugs were introduced: 1/ list_splice() was used to move chain elements to our own internal chain, but list_splice() does not reset the source list to an empty state, leading to unexpected bridge hook calls when drm_bridge_chain_xxx() helpers were called by the core. Replacing the list_splice() call by list_splice_init() fixes this problem. 2/ drm_bridge_chain_xxx() helpers operate on the bridge->encoder->bridge_chain list, which is now empty. When the helper uses list_for_each_entry_reverse() we end up with no operation done which is not what we want. But that's even worse when the helper uses list_for_each_entry_from(), because in that case we end up in an infinite loop searching for the list head element which is no longer encoder->bridge_chain but exynos_dsi->bridge_chain. To address that problem we stop using the bridge chain helpers and call the hooks directly.
