Add missing storage key initialization when memory comes online. Didn't hurt until now, since the kernel always uses access key 0. However for debugging purposes we sometimes use a different key and it might be good if everything is properly initialized... Add HAVE_MARCH_[ARCH]_FEATURES Kconfig symbols. Whenever there is code that needs an instruction that is only present beginning with a hardware generation the #ifdef chain can become quite long. To avoid this add the new Kconfig symbols which are selected if the kernel gets compiled for at least the specified symbol. If for example the kernel gets compiled for z196 this means that also all symbols for all previous architure features are set. If the task that was found on an initial interrupt doesn't match the current task execute a WARN_ON_ONCE() and don't put the task to sleep. When this happened something went wrong between the interface of the hypervisor and the kernel. In such a case keep the tasks alive to avoid a hanging system. 2012-05-16s390/pfault: fix task state raceHeiko Carstens
When setting the current task state to TASK_UNINTERRUPTIBLE this can race with a different cpu. The other cpu could set the task state after it inspected it (while it was still TASK_RUNNING) to TASK_RUNNING which would change the state from TASK_UNINTERRUPTIBLE to TASK_RUNNING again. This race was always present in the pfault interrupt code but didn't cause anything harmful before commit f2db2e6c "[S390] pfault: cpu hotplug vs missing completion interrupts" which relied on the fact that after setting the task state to TASK_UNINTERRUPTIBLE the task would really sleep. Since this is not necessarily the case the result may be a list corruption of the pfault_list or, as observed, a use-after-free bug while trying to access the task_struct of a task which terminated itself already. To fix this, we need to get a reference of the affected task when receiving the initial pfault interrupt and add special handling if we receive yet another initial pfault interrupt when the task is already enqueued in the pfault list. 2012-05-16s390/ipl: remove builtin tape ipl codeHeiko Carstens
Remove the builtin tape ipl code. If somebody really wants to create a tape which can be ipl'ed from, then this can be achieved by using zipl. zipl can write an ipl record to a tape device and aftwards the kernel image must be written to tape. The steps are described in the "Linux on System z - Device Drivers, Features, and Commands" book (SC33-8411). The software large page emulation on s390 did not clear the the pre-allocated page table in arch_release_hugepage() before freeing it. This could trigger the WARN_ON(!pte_none(*pte) in mm/vmalloc.c:106 and make vmap_pte_range() fail, because the page table could be reused in page_table_alloc(). 2012-05-16s390: allow absolute memory access for /dev/memMichael Holzheu
Currently dev/mem for s390 provides only real memory access. This means that the CPU prefix pages are swapped. The prefix swap for real memory works as follows: Each CPU owns a prefix register that points to a page aligned memory location "P". If this CPU accesses the address range [0,0x1fff], it is translated by the hardware to [P,P+0x1fff]. Accordingly if this CPU accesses the address range [P,P+0x1fff], it is translated by the hardware to [0,0x1fff]. Therefore, if [P,P+0x1fff] or [0,0x1fff] is read from the current /dev/mem device, the incorrectly swapped memory content is returned. With this patch the /dev/mem architecture code is modified to provide absolute memory access. This is done via the arch specific functions xlate_dev_mem_ptr() and unxlate_dev_mem_ptr(). For swapped pages on s390 the function xlate_dev_mem_ptr() now returns a new buffer with a copy of the requested absolute memory. In case the buffer was allocated, the unxlate_dev_mem_ptr() function frees it after /dev/mem code has called copy_to_user(). 2012-05-16[PARISC] fix panic on prefetch(NULL) on PA7300LCJames Bottomley
Due to an errata, the PA7300LC generates a TLB miss interruption even on the prefetch instruction. This means that prefetch(NULL), which is supposed to be a nop on linux actually generates a NULL deref fault. Fix this by testing the address of prefetch against NULL before doing the prefetch. As pointed out by serveral people, PA1.1 only has a type 26 instruction meaning that the space register must be explicitly encoded. Not giving an explicit space means that the compiler uses the type 24 version which is PA2.0 only resulting in an illegal instruction crash. The reason it wasn't caught earlier is that it only occurs with specific Bluetooth adapters. As for the security level patch, this fixes L2CAP socket based security level elevation during a connection. The HID profile needs this (for keyboards) and it is the only way to achieve the security level elevation when using the management interface to talk to the kernel (hence the management enabling patch being the one that exposes this" The rtlwifi fix addresses a regression related to firmware loading, as described in kernel.org bug 43187. unload Currently the slave and master resources are deleted after master freed all bitmaps. If any resources were not properly cleaned up during the shutdown process, an Oops would result. Fix so that delete slave (only) resources during cleanup. Master resources are cleaned up during unload process, and need not separately be cleaned. Note that during cleanup, we need to split the resource-tracker freeing functionality. Before removing all the bitmaps, we free any leftover slave resources. However, we can only remove the resource tracker linked list after all bitmap frees, since some of the freeing functions (e.g., mlx4_cleanup_eq_table) use paravirtualized FW commands which expect the resource tracker linked list to be present. Consider the following scenario: 2 HCAs, where only one of which can run SRIOV. If we reset the module parameter, all the VFs of the SRIOV HCA will be claimed by the PPF host (-- the code relies on num_vfs being non-zero to avoid this claiming, and num_vfs was reset when pci_enable_sriov failed for the non-SRIOV HCA). The solution is not to touch the num_vfs parameter. Also, eliminate the unneeded check of num_vfs when disabling sriov (the dev flag bit is sufficient). 2012-05-16net/mlx4_core: Fix init_port mask state for slavesJack Morgenstein
In function mlx4_INIT_PORT_wrapper, the port state mask for the slave is only set if we are invoking the INIT_PORT fw command. However, the reference count for the (initialized) port is incremented anyway. This creates a problem in that when we have multiple slaves, then the CLOSE_PORT command will never be invoked. The reason is that in the CLOSE_PORT wrapper, if the port-state mask is zero for the slave (which it is), the wrapper returns without doing anything. The only slave which will not return immediately in the CLOSE_PORT wrapper is that slave for which INIT_PORT was invoked. The fix is to not have the port-state mask setting depend on the logic for calling the INIT_PORT fw command.
