2013-08-29bridge: inherit slave devices needed_headroomFlorian Fainelli
Some slave devices may have set a dev->needed_headroom value which is different than the default one, most likely in order to prepend a hardware descriptor in front of the Ethernet frame to send. Whenever a new slave is added to a bridge, ensure that we update the needed_headroom value accordingly to account for the slave needed_headroom value. 2013-08-29tcp: don't apply tsoffset if rcv_tsecr is zeroAndrew Vagin
The zero value means that tsecr is not valid, so it's a special case. tsoffset is used to customize tcp_time_stamp for one socket. tsoffset is usually zero, it's used when a socket was moved from one host to another host. Currently this issue affects logic of tcp_rcv_rtt_measure_ts. Due to incorrect value of rcv_tsecr, tcp_rcv_rtt_measure_ts sets rto to TCP_RTO_MAX. u32 rcv_tstamp; /* timestamp of last received ACK */ Its value used in tcp_retransmit_timer, which closes socket if the last ack was received more then TCP_RTO_MAX ago. Currently rcv_tstamp is initialized to zero and if tcp_retransmit_timer is called before receiving a first ack, the connection is closed. perf_evlist__config() must be moved to a separate source file to avoid Python link errors when adding support for PERF_SAMPLE_IDENTIFIER. It is appropriate to do this because perf_evlist__config() is a helper function for event recording. It is used by tools to apply recording options to perf_evlist. It is not used by the Python API. 2013-08-29perf: make events stream always parsableAdrian Hunter
The event stream is not always parsable because the format of a sample is dependent on the sample_type of the selected event. When there is more than one selected event and the sample_types are not the same then parsing becomes problematic. A sample can be matched to its selected event using the ID that is allocated when the event is opened. Unfortunately, to get the ID from the sample means first parsing it. This patch adds a new sample format bit PERF_SAMPLE_IDENTIFER that puts the ID at a fixed position so that the ID can be retrieved without parsing the sample. For sample events, that is the first position immediately after the header. For non-sample events, that is the last position. In this respect parsing samples requires that the sample_type and ID values are recorded. For example, perf tools records struct perf_event_attr and the IDs within the perf.data file. Those must be read first before it is possible to parse samples found later in the perf.data file. The driver adds support for the following DA9063 PMIC regulators: - 11x LDOs (named LDO1 - LDO11), - 6x buck converters (BCORE1, BCORE2, BPRO, BMEM, BIO, BPERI), Regulators provide following operations: - REGULATOR_CHANGE_STATUS and REGULATOR_CHANGE_VOLTAGE for all regulators, - REGULATOR_CHANGE_MODE for LDOs and buck converters, where: - LDOs allow REGULATOR_MODE_NORMAL and REGULATOR_MODE_STANDBY, - buck converters allow REGULATOR_MODE_FAST, REGULATOR_MODE_NORMAL and REGULATOR_MODE_STANDBY, - REGULATOR_CHANGE_CURRENT for buck converters (current limits). The driver generates REGULATOR_EVENT_OVER_CURRENT for LDO3, LDO4, LDO7, LDO8 and LDO11. Internally, PMIC provides two voltage configurations for normal and suspend system state for each regulator. The driver switches between those on suspend/wake-up to provide quick and fluent output voltage change. This driver requires MFD core driver for operation. 2013-08-29sfc: Add support for Solarflare SFC9100 familyBen Hutchings
This adds support for the EF10 network controller architecture and the SFC9100 family, starting with SFC9120 'Farmingdale', and bumps the driver version to 4.0. New features in the SFC9100 family include: - Flexible allocation of internal resources to PCIe physical and virtual functions under firmware control - RX event merging to reduce DMA writes at high packet rates - Integrated RX timestamping - PIO buffers for lower TX latency - Firmware-driven data path that supports additional offload features and filter types - Delivery of packets between functions and to multiple recipients, allowing firmware to implement a vswitch - Multiple RX flow hash (RSS) contexts with their own hash keys and indirection tables - 40G MAC (single port only) ...not all of which are enabled in this initial driver or the initial firmware release. 2013-08-29irqchip: sirf: move from legacy mode to linear irqdomainBarry Song
the series of patches for irqdomain core in 3.11 has broken sirf irq which uses legacy mapping. all users fail in the new kernel while setupping irq. this patch moves to linear irqdomain and drop old legacy irqdomain codes since we don't need it any more, and at the same time, it also fixes the broken interrupts of sirfsoc in 3.11. on the other hand, we actually only have 64 interrupt sources for prima2 and atlas6, but there are 128 interrupt souces for marco which uses GIC. in the legacy codes, sirf gpio also uses legacy irqdomain, so to make gpio interrupt mapping not depend on the prima2/atlas6/marco an use unified marco,we enlarge prima2/atlas6 interrupt number to 128. here we don't need this workaround any more as sirf gpio also moved to linear mode before. so we move SIRFSOC_NUM_IRQS back to 64 too. 2013-08-29ASoC: Samsung: Do not queue cyclic buffers multiple timesTomasz Figa
The legacy S3C-DMA API required every period of a cyclic buffer to be queued separately. After conversion of Samsung ASoC to Samsung DMA wrappers somebody made an assumption that the same is needed for DMA engine API, which is not true. In effect, Samsung ASoC DMA code was queuing the whole cyclic buffer multiple times with a shift of one period per iteration, leading to: a) severe memory waste - up to 13x times more DMA transfer descriptors are allocated than needed, b) possible memory corruption, because further cyclic buffers were out of the original buffers, due to the offset. This patch fixes this problem by making the legacy S3C-DMA API use the same semantics as DMA engine (the whole cyclic buffer is enqueued at once) and modifying users of Samsung DMA wrappers in cyclic mode to behave appropriately. xfstests xfs/087 fails 100% reliably with this assert: XFS (vdb): Mounting Filesystem XFS (vdb): Starting recovery (logdev: internal) XFS: Assertion failed: bp->b_flags & XBF_STALE, file: fs/xfs/xfs_buf.c, line: 548 while trying to read a dquot buffer in xlog_recover_dquot_ra_pass2(). The issue is that the buffer length to read that is passed to xfs_buf_readahead is in units of filesystem blocks, not disk blocks. (i.e. FSB, not daddr).
