The ARMv7 memory mapped architected timer bindings expect MMIO sizes up
to 32-bit. Keep 64-bit addressing but change the size of memory mapping
to 32-bit (size-cells=1) and adjust the ranges to match this.
This fixes dtbs_check warnings like:

While looking at a Xen Kconfig dependency issue, I tried to understand the
exact dependencies for CONFIG_X86_PAE, which is selected by CONFIG_HIGHMEM64G
but can also be enabled manually.
Apparently the dependencies for CONFIG_HIGHMEM64G are strictly about CPUs
that do support PAE, but the actual feature can be incorrectly enabled on
older CPUs as well. The CONFIG_X86_CMPXCHG64 dependencies on the other hand
include X86_PAE because cmpxchg8b is requried for PAE to work.
Rework this for readability and correctness, using a positive list of CPUs
that support PAE in a new X86_HAVE_PAE symbol that can serve as a dependency
for both X86_PAE and HIGHMEM64G as well as simplify the X86_CMPXCHG64
dependency list.

The use of the 'kernel_offset' variable to position the image file that
has been loaded by UEFI or GRUB is unnecessary, because we can directly
position the loaded image file through using the image_base field of the
efi_loaded_image struct provided by UEFI.
Replace kernel_offset with image_base to position the image file that has

You do not need to use $(shell ...) in recipe lines, as they are already
executed in a shell. An alternative solution is $$(...), which is an
escaped sequence of the shell's command substituion, $(...).
For this case, there is a reason to avoid $(shell ...).
Kbuild detects command changes by using the if_changed macro, which
compares the previous command recorded in .*.cmd with the current
command from Makefile. If they differ, Kbuild re-runs the build rule.
To diff the commands, Make must expand $(shell ...) first. It means that
hexdump is executed every time, even when nothing needs rebuilding. If
Kbuild determines that vmlinux.bin needs rebuilding, hexdump will be
executed again to evaluate the 'cmd' macro, one more time to really
build vmlinux.bin, and finally yet again to record the expanded command
into .*.cmd.
Replace $(shell ...) with $$(...) to avoid multiple, unnecessay shell
evaluations. Since Make is agnostic about the shell code, $(...), the
if_changed macro compares the string "$(hexdump -s16 -n4 ...)" verbatim,
so hexdump is run only for building vmlinux.bin.
For the same reason, $(shell ...) in EFI_ZBOOT_OBJCOPY_FLAGS should be
eliminated.
While I was here, I replaced '&&' with ';' because a command for
if_changed is executed with 'set -e'.

Alexei Starovoitov says:
====================
pull-request: bpf-next 2023-12-18
This PR is larger than usual and contains changes in various parts
of the kernel.
The main changes are:
1) Fix kCFI bugs in BPF, from Peter Zijlstra.
End result: all forms of indirect calls from BPF into kernel
and from kernel into BPF work with CFI enabled. This allows BPF
to work with CONFIG_FINEIBT=y.
2) Introduce BPF token object, from Andrii Nakryiko.
It adds an ability to delegate a subset of BPF features from privileged
daemon (e.g., systemd) through special mount options for userns-bound
BPF FS to a trusted unprivileged application. The design accommodates
suggestions from Christian Brauner and Paul Moore.
Example:
$ sudo mkdir -p /sys/fs/bpf/token
$ sudo mount -t bpf bpffs /sys/fs/bpf/token \
-o delegate_cmds=prog_load:MAP_CREATE \
-o delegate_progs=kprobe \
-o delegate_attachs=xdp
3) Various verifier improvements and fixes, from Andrii Nakryiko, Andrei Matei.
- Complete precision tracking support for register spills
- Fix verification of possibly-zero-sized stack accesses
- Fix access to uninit stack slots
- Track aligned STACK_ZERO cases as imprecise spilled registers.
It improves the verifier "instructions processed" metric from single
digit to 50-60% for some programs.
- Fix verifier retval logic
4) Support for VLAN tag in XDP hints, from Larysa Zaremba.
5) Allocate BPF trampoline via bpf_prog_pack mechanism, from Song Liu.
End result: better memory utilization and lower I$ miss for calls to BPF
via BPF trampoline.
6) Fix race between BPF prog accessing inner map and parallel delete,
from Hou Tao.
7) Add bpf_xdp_get_xfrm_state() kfunc, from Daniel Xu.
It allows BPF interact with IPSEC infra. The intent is to support
software RSS (via XDP) for the upcoming ipsec pcpu work.
Experiments on AWS demonstrate single tunnel pcpu ipsec reaching
line rate on 100G ENA nics.
8) Expand bpf_cgrp_storage to support cgroup1 non-attach, from Yafang Shao.
9) BPF file verification via fsverity, from Song Liu.
It allows BPF progs get fsverity digest.

The recent fix to ignore invalid x2APIC entries inadvertently broke
systems with creative MADT APIC tables. The affected systems have APIC
MADT tables where all entries have invalid APIC IDs (0xFF), which means
they register exactly zero CPUs.
But the condition to ignore the entries of APIC IDs < 255 in the X2APIC
MADT table is solely based on the count of MADT APIC table entries.
As a consequence, the affected machines enumerate no secondary CPUs at
all because the APIC table has entries and therefore the X2APIC table
entries with APIC IDs < 255 are ignored.
Change the condition so that the APIC table preference for APIC IDs <
255 only becomes effective when the APIC table has valid APIC ID
entries.
IOW, an APIC table full of invalid APIC IDs is considered to be empty
which in consequence enables the X2APIC table entries with a APIC ID
< 255 and restores the expected behaviour.

The KERNEL_FPR mask only contains a flag for the first eight vector
registers. However floating point registers overlay parts of the first
sixteen vector registers.
This could lead to vector register corruption if a kernel fpu context uses
any of the vector registers 8 to 15 and is interrupted or calls a
KERNEL_FPR context. If that context uses also vector registers 8 to 15,
their contents will be corrupted on return.
Luckily this is currently not a real bug, since the kernel has only one
KERNEL_FPR user with s390_adjust_jiffies() and it is only using floating
point registers 0 to 2.
Fix this by using the correct bits for KERNEL_FPR.

It was clarified a while ago that reserved-memory nodes shouldn't be

The bindings for sc7280-mpss-pas neither expects a second reg nor a
reg-names property, which is only required by the sc7280-mss-pil
bindings.
Move it to sc7280-herobrine-lte-sku.dtsi, the only place where that
other compatible is used.

Pull powerpc fixes from Michael Ellerman:
- Fix a bug where heavy VAS (accelerator) usage could race with
partition migration and prevent the migration from completing.
- Update MAINTAINERS to add Aneesh & Naveen.

If you select CONFIG_EFI_ZBOOT, we will generate vmlinuz.efi, and then
when we go to install the kernel we'll install the vmlinux instead
because install.sh only recognizes Image.gz as wanting the compressed
install image. With CONFIG_EFI_ZBOOT we don't get the proper kernel
installed, which means it doesn't boot, which makes for a very confused
and subsequently angry kernel developer.
Fix this by properly installing our compressed kernel if we've enabled
CONFIG_EFI_ZBOOT.

The SM8150-HDK uses two different regulators to power up SuperSpeed USB
PHYs. The L5A regulator is used for the second USB host, while the first
(OTG) USB host uses different regulator, L18A. Fix the regulator for the
usb_1 QMPPHY and (to remove possible confusion) drop the
usb_ss_dp_core_1/_2 labels.
