2012-03-07powerpc: Make SPARSE_IRQ requiredGrant Likely
All IRQs on powerpc are managed via irq_domain anyway, there isn't really any advantage to turning SPARSE_IRQ off, and it's the direction we want to take the kernel design anyway. This patch makes powerpc always use SPARSE_IRQ. On pseries_defconfig, SPARSE_IRQ adds only about 0x300 bytes to the .text sections, and removes about 0x20000 from the data section for the static irq_desc table. 2012-03-07powerpc/prom: Remove limit on maximum size of propertiesNishanth Aravamudan
On a 16TB system (using AMS/CMO), I get: WARNING: ignoring large property [/ibm,dynamic-reconfiguration-memory] ibm,dynamic-memory length 0x000000000017ffec and significantly less memory is thus shown to the partition. As far as I can tell, the constant used is arbitrary. Ben Herrenschmidt provided additional background that > The limit was originally set because of Apple machines carrying ROM > images in the device-tree, at a time where we were much more memory > constrained than we are now. and that it is likely not very useful any longer. 2012-03-07powerpc: Use set_current_blocked() and block_sigmask()Matt Fleming
As described in e6fa16ab ("signal: sigprocmask() should do retarget_shared_pending()") the modification of current->blocked is incorrect as we need to check whether the signal we're about to block is pending in the shared queue. Also, use the new helper function introduced in commit 5e6292c0f28f ("signal: add block_sigmask() for adding sigmask to current->blocked") which centralises the code for updating current->blocked after successfully delivering a signal and reduces the amount of duplicate code across architectures. In the past some architectures got this code wrong, so using this helper function should stop that from happening again. 2012-03-07powerpc/icswx: Fix race condition with IPI setting ACOPJimi Xenidis
There is a race where a thread causes a coprocessor type to be valid in its own ACOP _and_ in the current context, but it does not propagate to the ACOP register of other threads in time for them to use it. The original code tries to solve this by sending an IPI to all threads on the system, which is heavy handed, but unfortunately still provides a window where the icswx is issued by other threads and the ACOP is not up to date. This patch detects that the ACOP DSI fault was a "false positive" and syncs the ACOP and causes the icswx to be replayed. 2012-03-06ARM: provide runtime hook for ioremap/iounmapRob Herring
We have compile time over-ride of ioremap and iounmap, but an run-time override is needed for multi-platform builds. This adds an extra function pointer check, but ioremap is not peformance critical. The option for compile time selection remains. The caller variant is used here to provide correct caller information as ARM can only support level 0 for __builtin_return_address. 2012-03-06x86: fix typo in recent find_vma_prev purgeLinus Torvalds
It turns out that test-compiling this file on x86-64 doesn't really help, because much of it is x86-32-specific. 2012-03-06ARM: OMAP2+: gpmc-smsc911x: only register regulator for first instanceKevin Hilman
commit e4b0b2cbbb (ARM: OMAP2+: gpmc-smsc911x: add required smsc911x regulators) added regulators which are registered during gpmc_smsc911x_init(). However, some platforms (OMAP3/Overo) have more than one instance of the SMSC911x and result in attempting to register the same regulator more than once which causes a panic(). Fix this by only registering the regulator when the platform_data id field is zero, indicating its the first instance. 2012-03-06vm: avoid using find_vma_prev() unnecessarilyLinus Torvalds
Several users of "find_vma_prev()" were not in fact interested in the previous vma if there was no primary vma to be found either. And in those cases, we're much better off just using the regular "find_vma()", and then "prev" can be looked up by just checking vma->vm_prev. The find_vma_prev() semantics are fairly subtle (see Mikulas' recent commit 83cd904d271b: "mm: fix find_vma_prev"), and the whole "return prev by reference" means that it generates worse code too. Thus this "let's avoid using this inconvenient and clearly too subtle interface when we don't really have to" patch. 2012-03-06ARM: OMAP3+: PM: VP: fix integer truncation errorYuan Jiangli
commit 2f34ce81b8c05c900e45bd88595cc154f7bb5957 (OMAP3: PM: Adding voltage driver support.) introduced runtime computation of waittime to handle all potential sys clocks available. In the voltage processor, the SPMSUpdateWait is calculated based on the slew rate and the voltage step (SMPSUpdateWait = slew rate * Voltage Step). After the voltage processor receives the SMPS_Ack signal, the Voltage Controller will wait for SMPSUpdateWait clock cycles for the voltage to settle to the new value. For all practical purposes, the waittime parameter is the OMAP hardware translation of what the slew rate on the PMIC is. As an example, with TPS62361 on OMAP4460, step_size = 10000 slew_rate = 32000 sys_clk_rate = 38400 Our current computation results in the following: = ((step_size / slew_rate) * sys_clk_rate) / 1000 = ((10000 / 32000) * 38400 / 1000 = 0 Fix the same using DIV_ROUND_UP as an extra wait clock cycle is better than lesser clock cycle. For the above example, this translates to: = (10000 * 38400) / (1000 * 32000) = 12 Acked-by: Jon Hunter <jon-hunter@ti.com> [nm@ti.com: slightly better implementation] Signed-off-by: Nishanth Menon <nm@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Yuan Jiangli <jlyuan@motorola.com> Acked-by: Kevin Hilman <khilman@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>

This patch adds s3c_fb_driverdata s3c_fb_data_exynos5 for EXYNOS5 and adds extended timing control setting. EXYNOS5 FIMD needs extended setting for video timing control. Additional bits are added to VIDTCON2, VIDWxxADD2, VIDOSDxA and VIDOSDxB registers in order to set timing value for lager resolution.
