2023-03-14drm/mcde: Do not use dirty GEM FB handlingLinus Walleij
This driver has no way to handle damage, the reason the drm_gem_fb_create_with_dirty() was used was because I had the ambition that the driver would only send out updates to DSI command displays whenever something changed, so as to minimize traffic. It turns out this ambition with command mode isn't working in practice because all the MCDE does is to create a continuous stream of DSI commands and while it is possible to send single frame updates with it, it's not been worthwhile. So we are just setting up continuous updates. 2023-03-14drm/fbdev-dma: Implement fbdev emulation for GEM DMA helpersThomas Zimmermann
Implement fbdev emulation that is optimized for drivers that use DMA helpers. The buffers may no tbe moveable, may not require damage handling and have to be located in system memory. This allows fbdev emulation to operate directly on the buffer and mmap it to userspace. Besides those constraints, the emulation works like in the generic code. As an internal DRM client provides, it receives hotplug, restore and unregister events. The DRM client is independent from the fbdev probing, which runs on the first successful hotplug event. The emulation is part of the DMA helper module and not build unless DMA helpers and fbdev emulation has been configured. Tested with vc4. 2023-03-14drm/i915/active: Fix missing debug object activationNirmoy Das

2023-03-14drm/amdgpu/vcn: Disable indirect SRAM on Vangogh broken BIOSesGuilherme G. Piccoli
The VCN firmware loading path enables the indirect SRAM mode if it's advertised as supported. We might have some cases of FW issues that prevents this mode to working properly though, ending-up in a failed probe. An example below, observed in the Steam Deck: [...] [drm] failed to load ucode VCN0_RAM(0x3A) [drm] psp gfx command LOAD_IP_FW(0x6) failed and response status is (0xFFFF0000) amdgpu 0000:04:00.0: [drm:amdgpu_ring_test_helper [amdgpu]] *ERROR* ring vcn_dec_0 test failed (-110) [drm:amdgpu_device_init.cold [amdgpu]] *ERROR* hw_init of IP block <vcn_v3_0> failed -110 amdgpu 0000:04:00.0: amdgpu: amdgpu_device_ip_init failed amdgpu 0000:04:00.0: amdgpu: Fatal error during GPU init [...] Disabling the VCN block circumvents this, but it's a very invasive workaround that turns off the entire feature. So, let's add a quirk on VCN loading that checks for known problematic BIOSes on Vangogh, so we can proactively disable the indirect SRAM mode and allow the HW proper probe and VCN IP block to work fine. 2023-03-14drm/amd/display: Write to correct dirty_rectBenjamin Cheng
When FB_DAMAGE_CLIPS are provided in a non-MPO scenario, the loop does not use the counter i. This causes the fill_dc_dity_rect() to always fill dirty_rects[0], causing graphical artifacts when a damage clip aware DRM client sends more than 1 damage clip. Instead, use the flip_addrs->dirty_rect_count which is incremented by fill_dc_dirty_rect() on a successful fill. 2023-03-13drm/i915: Include timeline seqno in error captureJohn Harrison
The seqno value actually written out to memory is no longer in the regular HWSP. Instead, it is now in its own private timeline buffer. Thus, it is no longer visible in an error capture. So, explicitly read the value and include that in the capture. v2: %d -> %u (Alan) Signed-off-by: John Harrison <John.C.Harrison@Intel.com> Reviewed-by: Alan Previn <alan.previn.teres.alexis@intel.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20230311063714.570389-4-John.C.Harrison@Intel.com
2023-03-13drm/i915/guc: Clean up of register capture searchJohn Harrison
The comparison in the search for a matching register capture node was not the most readable. It was also assuming that a zero GuC id means invalid, which it does not. So remove one invalid term, one redundant term and re-format to keep each term on a single line, and only one term per line. 2023-03-13drm/i915/guc: Fix missing ecodesJohn Harrison
Error captures are tagged with an 'ecode'. This is a pseduo-unique magic number that is meant to distinguish similar seeming bugs with different underlying signatures. It is a combination of two ring state registers. Unfortunately, the register state being used is only valid in execlist mode. In GuC mode, the register state exists in a separate list of arbitrary register address/value pairs rather than the named entry structure. So, search through that list to find the two exciting registers and copy them over to the structure's named members. v2: if else if instead of if if (Alan) Signed-off-by: John Harrison <John.C.Harrison@Intel.com> Reviewed-by: Alan Previn <alan.previn.teres.alexis@intel.com> Fixes: a6f0f9cf330a ("drm/i915/guc: Plumb GuC-capture into gpu_coredump") Cc: Alan Previn <alan.previn.teres.alexis@intel.com> Cc: Umesh Nerlige Ramappa <umesh.nerlige.ramappa@intel.com> Cc: Lucas De Marchi <lucas.demarchi@intel.com> Cc: Jani Nikula <jani.nikula@linux.intel.com> Cc: Joonas Lahtinen <joonas.lahtinen@linux.intel.com> Cc: Rodrigo Vivi <rodrigo.vivi@intel.com> Cc: Tvrtko Ursulin <tvrtko.ursulin@linux.intel.com> Cc: Matt Roper <matthew.d.roper@intel.com> Cc: Aravind Iddamsetty <aravind.iddamsetty@intel.com> Cc: Michael Cheng <michael.cheng@intel.com> Cc: Matthew Brost <matthew.brost@intel.com> Cc: Bruce Chang <yu.bruce.chang@intel.com> Cc: Daniele Ceraolo Spurio <daniele.ceraolospurio@intel.com> Cc: Matthew Auld <matthew.auld@intel.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20230311063714.570389-2-John.C.Harrison@Intel.com
2023-03-13drm/amdgpu/vcn: Disable indirect SRAM on Vangogh broken BIOSesGuilherme G.
2023-03-13drm/amd/display: Write to correct dirty_rectBenjamin Cheng
