2022-01-31rtw88: fix memory overrun and memory leak during hw_scanPo-Hao Huang
Previously we allocated less memory than actual required, overwrite to the buffer causes the mm module to complaint and raise access violation faults. Along with potential memory leaks when returned early. Fix these by passing the correct size and proper deinit flow. 2022-01-31rtw88: fix idle mode flow for hw scanPo-Hao Huang
Upon hw scan completion, idle mode is not re-entered. This might increase power consumption under no link mode. Fix this by adding the re-enter flow. We need another work for this since enter_ips waits for c2h_work to finish, which might lead to deadlock if caller is in the same work. 2022-01-31r8169: add rtl_disable_exit_l1()Heiner Kallweit
Add rtl_disable_exit_l1() for ensuring that the chip doesn't inadvertently exit ASPM L1 when being in a low-power mode. The new function is called from rtl_prepare_power_down() which has to be moved in the code to avoid a forward declaration. According to Realtek OCP register 0xc0ac shadows ERI register 0xd4 on RTL8168 versions from RTL8168g. 2022-01-31net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: Improve indirect addressing performanceTobias Waldekranz
Before this change, both the read and write callback would start out by asserting that the chip's busy flag was cleared. However, both callbacks also made sure to wait for the clearing of the busy bit before returning - making the initial check superfluous. The only time that would ever have an effect was if the busy bit was initially set for some reason. With that in mind, make sure to perform an initial check of the busy bit, after which both read and write can rely the previous operation to have waited for the bit to clear. 2022-01-31net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: Improve performance of busy bit pollingTobias Waldekranz
Avoid a long delay when a busy bit is still set and has to be polled again. Measurements on a system with 2 Opals (6097F) and one Agate (6352) show that even with this much tighter loop, we have about a 50% chance of the bit being cleared on the first poll, all other accesses see the bit being cleared on the second poll. On a standard MDIO bus running MDC at 2.5MHz, a single access with 32 bits of preamble plus 32 bits of data takes 64*(1/2.5MHz) = 25.6us. This means that mv88e6xxx_smi_direct_wait took 26us + CPU overhead in the fast scenario, but 26us + 1500us + 26us + CPU overhead in the slow case - bringing the average close to 1ms. With this change in place, the slow case is closer to 2*26us + CPU overhead, with the average well below 100us - a 10x improvement. This translates to real-world winnings. Since ipv6 neighbor solicitation and advertisement messages isn't handled gracefully in bond6 driver, we can see packet drop due to inconsistency between mac address in the option message and source MAC . Another examples is ipv6 neighbor solicitation and advertisement messages from VM via tap attached to host bridge, the src mac might be changed through balance-alb mode, but it is not synced with Link-layer address in the option message. The patch implements bond6's tx handle for ipv6 neighbor solicitation and advertisement messages. 2022-01-29net: macb: Added ZynqMP-specific initializationRobert Hancock
The GEM controllers on ZynqMP were missing some initialization steps which are required in some cases when using SGMII mode, which uses the PS-GTR transceivers managed by the phy-zynqmp driver. The GEM core appears to need a hardware-level reset in order to work properly in SGMII mode in cases where the GT reference clock was not present at initial power-on. This can be done using a reset mapped to the zynqmp-reset driver in the device tree. Also, when in SGMII mode, the GEM driver needs to ensure the PHY is initialized and powered on. 2022-01-28brcmfmac: use ISO3166 country code and 0 rev as fallback on some devicesHans de Goede
This is a second attempt at honering the country code send out by access points. This was first added in commit b0b524f079a2 ("brcmfmac: use ISO3166 country code and 0 rev as fallback"). Subsequently this was reverted in commit 151a7c12c4fc ("Revert "brcmfmac: use ISO3166 country code and 0 rev as fallback""), because it was causing issues with AP mode on some brcmfmac models (specifically on BCM4359/9). Many devices ship with a nvram ccode value of X2/XT/XU/XV/ALL which are all special world-wide compatibility ccode-s. Most of these world-wide ccode-s allow passive scan mode only for 2.4GHz channels 12-14, only enabling them when an AP is seen on them. But at least on brcmfmac43455 devices this is not working correctly, these do not see accesspoints on channels 12-14 unless the ccode is changes to a country where these channels are allowed. Translating received country codes to an ISO3166 country code and 0 rev ccreq fixes devices using a brcmfmac43455 with a X2/XT/XU/XV/ALL ccode not seeing accesspoints on channels 12-14. To avoid this causing issues on other brcmfmac models again, the fallback is limited to only brcmfmac4345* chips this time. The h2c_join firmware command is used to indicate a station is connected, and the assoc_cmac_tbl firmware command is used to set CMAC table corresponding to a mac_id. 2022-01-28rtw89: correct use of BA CAMPing-Ke Shih
BA CAM is used to ACK peer's packets, so it must be established when IEEE80211_AMPDU_RX_START, and free it by IEEE80211_AMPDU_RX_STOP. The hardware can support two static BA CAM entries, so I implement a bitmap and a struct to record which entry is used and its corresponding tid. Also, the hardware can learn and create dynamic BA CAM entries automatically if received packets don't match static BA CAM. That means it can still work if we don't use H2C to set static BA CAM. An exception is tid=0 should be always allocated in static BA CAM, so an existing static BA CAM will be replaced if it is full and peer is going to establish a BA with tid=0. The new firmware use new format of this H2C, so I upgrade it as well. 2022-01-28rtw89: extract modules by chipsetZong-Zhe Yang
We are planning to support more chipsets, e.g. 8852C. Before that, we consider architecutre to handle multiple kinds of chipsets. Obviosuly, based on original design, rtw89_core module will have large size even if there is only one chipset under running. It is because all chipset related things are put in rtw89_core now. To reduce such overhead, we extract modules of rtw89 and adjust dependencies between modules. The following assumes that 8852AE, 8852AU, and 8852CE are all supported, we describe the difference before and after extraction. 2022-01-28net: stmmac: dwmac-sun8i: make clk really gated during rpm suspendedJisheng Zhang
Currently, the dwmac-sun8i's stmmaceth clk isn't disabled even if the the device has been runtime suspended. The reason is the driver gets the "stmmaceth" clk as tx_clk and enabling it during probe. But there's no other usage of tx_clk except preparing and enabling, so we can remove tx_clk and its usage then rely on the common routine stmmac_probe_config_dt() to prepare and enable the stmmaceth clk during driver initialization, and benefit from the runtime pm feature after probed. 2022-01-28net: stmmac: properly handle with runtime pm in stmmac_dvr_remove()Jisheng Zhang
There are two issues with runtime pm handling in stmmac_dvr_remove(): 1. the mac is runtime suspended before stopping dma and rx/tx. We need to ensure the device is properly resumed back. 2. the stmmaceth clk enable/disable isn't balanced in both exit and error handling code path. Take the exit code path for example, when we unbind the driver or rmmod the driver module, the mac is runtime suspended as said above, so the stmmaceth clk is disabled, but stmmac_dvr_remove() stmmac_remove_config_dt() clk_disable_unprepare() CCF will complain this time. The error handling code path suffers from the similar situtaion. Trap door number is a 4-bit number divided in two regions (3 and 1-bit). Both values were not masked properly. This bug does not affect supported devices as they use up to port 7 (ext2). External interfaces can be configured, even if they are not CPU ports. The first CPU port will also be the trap port (for receiving trapped frames from the switch). The CPU information was dropped from chip data as it was not used outside setup. The only other place it was used is when it wrongly checks for CPU port when it should check for extint. The supported modes check now uses port type and not port usage. As a byproduct, more than one CPU can be configured. although this might not work well with DSA setups. Also, this driver is still only blindly forwarding all traffic to CPU port(s).
