2020-04-24scsi: qla2xxx: Fix hang when issuing nvme disconnect-all in NPIVArun Easi
In NPIV environment, a NPIV host may use a queue pair created by base host or other NPIVs, so the check for a queue pair created by this NPIV is not correct, and can cause an abort to fail, which in turn means the NVME command not returned. This leads to hang in nvme_fc layer in nvme_fc_delete_association() which waits for all I/Os to be returned, which is seen as hang in the application. 2020-04-24scsi: qla2xxx: Fix MPI failure AEN (8200) handlingArun Easi
Today, upon an MPI failure AEN, on top of collecting an MPI dump, a regular firmware dump is also taken and then chip reset. This is disruptive to IOs and not required. Make the firmware dump collection, followed by chip reset, optional (not done by default). Firmware dump buffer and MPI dump buffer are independent of each other with this change and each can have dump that was taken at two different times for two different issues. The MPI dump is saved in a separate buffer and is retrieved differently from firmware dump. 2020-04-22block: move dma_pad handling from blk_rq_map_sg into the callersChristoph Hellwig
There are only two callers of blk_rq_map_sg/__blk_rq_map_sg that set the dma_pad value in the queue. Move the handling into those callers instead of burdening the common code, and move the ->extra_len field from struct request to struct scsi_cmnd. Don't burden the common block code with with specifics of the libata DMA draining mechanism. Instead move most of the code to the scsi midlayer. That also means the nr_phys_segments adjustments in the blk-mq fast path can go away entirely, given that SCSI never looks at nr_phys_segments after mapping the request to a scatterlist. 2020-04-21scsi: qla2xxx: check UNLOADING before posting async workMartin Wilck
qlt_free_session_done() tries to post async PRLO / LOGO, and waits for the completion of these async commands. If UNLOADING is set, this is doomed to timeout, because the async logout command will never complete. The only way to avoid waiting pointlessly is to fail posting these commands in the first place if the driver is in UNLOADING state. In general, posting any command should be avoided when the driver is UNLOADING. With this patch, "rmmod qla2xxx" completes without noticeable delay. 2020-04-21scsi: qla2xxx: set UNLOADING before waiting for session deletionMartin Wilck
The purpose of the UNLOADING flag is to avoid port login procedures to continue when a controller is in the process of shutting down. It makes sense to set this flag before starting session teardown. Furthermore, use atomic test_and_set_bit() to avoid the shutdown being run multiple times in parallel. In qla2x00_disable_board_on_pci_error(), the test for UNLOADING is postponed until after the check for an already disabled PCI board. 2020-04-21scsi: core: Allow the state change from SDEV_QUIESCE to SDEV_BLOCKDexuan Cui
The APIs scsi_host_block()/scsi_host_unblock() were recently added by commit 2bb955840c1d ("scsi: core: add scsi_host_(block,unblock) helper function") and so far the APIs are only used by: commit 3d3ca53b1639 ("scsi: aacraid: use scsi_host_(block,unblock) to block I/O"). However, from reading the code, I think the APIs don't really work for aacraid, because, in the resume path of hibernation, when aac_suspend() -> scsi_host_block() is called, scsi_device_quiesce() has set the state to SDEV_QUIESCE, so aac_suspend() -> scsi_host_block() returns -EINVAL. Fix the issue by allowing the state change. Now that we have the patches ("blk-mq: In blk_mq_dispatch_rq_list() "no budget" is a reason to kick") and ("blk-mq: Rerun dispatching in the case of budget contention") we should no longer need the fix in the SCSI code. Revert it, resolving conflicts with other patches that have touched this code. With this revert (and the two new patches) I can run the script that was in commit 7e70aa789d4a ("scsi: core: run queue if SCSI device queue isn't ready and queue is idle") in a loop with no failure. still probing The MFW may make a call to qed and then to qedf for protocol statistics while the function is still probing. If this happens it's possible that some members of the struct qedf_ctx may not be fully initialized which can result in a NULL pointer dereference or general protection fault. To prevent this, add a new flag call QEDF_PROBING and set it when the __qedf_probe() function is active. Then in the qedf_get_protocol_tlv_data() function we can check if the function is still probing and return immediantely before any uninitialized structures can be touched. If a port is brought down for an extended period of time, the fipvlan counter gets exhausted and the driver will fall back to default VLAN 1002 and call fcoe_ctlr_link_up to log in. However, the switch will discard the FLOGI attempt because the VLAN is now different. Keep track of the number of FLOGI attempts and if a threshold of QEDF_FLOGI_RETRY_CNT is exceeded, perform a context soft reset.
