Pull block layer core updates from Jens Axboe:
"Here are the core block IO bits for 3.8. The branch contains:
- The final version of the surprise device removal fixups from Bart.
- Don't hide EFI partitions under advanced partition types. It's
fairly wide spread these days. This is especially dangerous for
systems that have both msdos and efi partition tables, where you
want to keep them in sync.
- Cleanup of using -1 instead of the proper NUMA_NO_NODE
- Export control of bdi flusher thread CPU mask and default to using
the home node (if known) from Jeff.
- Export unplug tracepoint for MD.
- Core improvements from Shaohua. Reinstate the recursive merge, as
the original bug has been fixed. Add plugging for discard and also
fix a problem handling non pow-of-2 discard limits.
There's a trivial merge in block/blk-exec.c due to a fix that went
into 3.7-rc at a later point than -rc4 where this is based."

All told, hch was able to shave off another ~1K LOC by killing the
se_subsystem_dev abstraction, along with a number of PR + ALUA
simplifications. Also, a nice patch by Roland is the refactoring of
MODE_SENSE handling, along with the addition of initial MODE_SELECT
emulation support for virtual backends.
Sebastian found a long-standing issue wrt to allocation of full
config_group instead of pointers for config_group->default_group[]
setup in a number of areas, which ends up saving memory with big
configurations. He also managed to fix another long-standing BUG wrt
to broken 32-bit highmem support within the FILEIO backend driver.

AFAICS, the situation for fcoe_transport_disable() seems to be
the same as for fcoe_transport_enable(). IOW, shouldn't it have
restart_syscall() removed as well? I don't see any in-tree ->disable()
instances that could return -ERESTARTSYS, anyway...

now complains about this, so convert libfcoe to preferred

or the new control interfaces can be used. A mixed mode
is not supported. A user must either use the new
interfaces or the old ones, but not both.

This patch does a few things.
1) Makes /sys/bus/fcoe/ctlr_{create,destroy} interfaces.
These interfaces take an <ifname> and will either
create an FCoE Controller or destroy an FCoE
Controller depending on which file is written to.
The new FCoE Controller will start in a DISABLED
state and will not do discovery or login until it
is ENABLED. This pause will allow us to configure
the FCoE Controller before enabling it.
2) Makes the 'mode' attribute of a fcoe_ctlr_device
writale. This allows the user to configure the mode
in which the FCoE Controller will start in when it
is ENABLED.
Possible modes are 'Fabric', or 'VN2VN'.
The default mode for a fcoe_ctlr{,_device} is 'Fabric'.
Drivers must implement the set_fcoe_ctlr_mode routine
to support this feature.
libfcoe offers an exported routine to set a FCoE
Controller's mode. The mode can only be changed
when the FCoE Controller is DISABLED.
This patch also removes the get_fcoe_ctlr_mode pointer
in the fcoe_sysfs function template, the code in
fcoe_ctlr.c to get the mode and the assignment of
the fcoe_sysfs function pointer to the fcoe_ctlr.c
implementation (in fcoe and bnx2fc). fcoe_sysfs can
return that value for the mode without consulting the
LLD.
3) Make a 'enabled' attribute of a fcoe_ctlr_device. On a
read, fcoe_sysfs will return the attribute's value. On
a write, fcoe_sysfs will call the LLD (if there is a
callback) to notifiy that the enalbed state has changed.
This patch maintains the old FCoE control interfaces as
module parameters, but it adds comments pointing out that
the old interfaces are deprecated.

Pull first round of SCSI updates from James Bottomley:
"This patch set includes two large new drivers: mpt3sas (for the next
gen fusion SAS hardware) and csiostor a FCoE offload driver for the
Chelsio converged network cards (this includes some net changes which
I've OK'd with DaveM).
The rest of the patch is driver updates (qla2xxx, lpfc, hptiop,
be2iscsi) plus a few assorted updates and bug fixes.
We also have a Power Management rework in the Upper Layer Drivers
preparatory to doing ACPI zero power optical devices, but the actual
enabler is still being worked on.

QUEUE_FLAG_DEAD is used to indicate that queuing new requests must
stop. After this flag has been set queue draining starts. However,
during the queue draining phase it is still safe to invoke the
queue's request_fn, so QUEUE_FLAG_DYING is a better name for this
flag.

Instead of creating a structure with an enum and a pointer
to a string, simply allocate an array of strings and use
the enum values for the indicies.
This means that we do not need to iterate through the list
of entries when looking up a string name by its enum key.
This will also help with a latter patch that will add
more fcoe_sysfs attributes that will also use the
fcoe_enum_name_search macro. One attribute will also do
a reverse lookup which requires less code when the
enum-to-string mappings are organized as this patch makes
them to be.

Currently fc_fcp_timeout doesn't check FC_RP_FLAGS_REC_SUPPORTED
flag first, this prevents REC request ever going out at all
to the target having REC support. So this patches fixes the
fc_fcp_timeout by checking FC_RP_FLAGS_REC_SUPPORTED flag first.
The changed order won't cause any issue during clearing
FC_RP_FLAGS_REC_SUPPORTED on failed IO with target not supporting
FC_RP_FLAGS_REC_SUPPORTED, since retry on failed IO would succeed.

megaraid use INIT_WORK to declare a hotplug_work, but cast the
hotplug_work from work_struct to delayed_work and
schedule_delayed_work on it. This is very dangerous, as other part of
delayed_work might be kernel memories allocated by others.
With commit 8852aac ("workqueue: mod_delayed_work_on() shouldn't queue
timer on 0 delay"), schedule_delayed_work() will check dwork->timer
before queue_work even when @delay is 0, this causes megaraid code to
hit the BUG_ON() in workqueue code. Change megaraid code to use
delayed work.

These driver files are initially, substantially similar to mpt2sas but,
because mpt2sas is going into maintenance mode and mp3sas will become heavily
developed, we elected to keep the code bases separate.

Make it possible to disconnect the IB RC connection used by the SRP
protocol to communicate with a target.
Have the SRP transport layer create a sysfs "delete" attribute for
initiator drivers that support this functionality.

Eliminate the private_rport_attrs[] array and the SETUP_*() macros
used to set up that array since the information in that array
duplicates the information in the static device attributes. Also,
verify whether SRP_RPORT_ATTRS is large enough since it is easy to
forget to update that macro when adding new attributes.

Register transport attributes after the attribute array has been set
up instead of before. The current code can trigger a race condition
because the code reading the attribute array can run on another thread
than the code that initialized that array. Make sure that any code
reading the attribute array will see all values written into that
array.

Try to acquire the semaphore; if semaphore is hung then acquire it by force.
The ISP reset clears the semaphore, thereby implicitly releasing it.

Original code was not corrected for ISP83xx support. Instead code should used
the cached reference from the req_que structure, rather than the legacy
'if (ISP-TYPE(X))... else if (ISP-TYPE(Y))...' codes.

changed. The driver should honor the value and continue its normal course.
