When transitioning away from vgacon the system tries to save the
current contents of the VGA memory, so that it can be cleanly handed
off to fbcon (or whatever comes afterwards).

i915: Update VGA arbiter support for newer devices
caused i915 to disable VGA memory decode for the IGD when i915 is
initializing. Unfortunately that happens before the vgacon->fbcon
handoff so vgacon_save_screen() will read out all ones from the
VGA memory.
After the handoff fbcon will inherit the bogus state from vgacon,
and pre-fills the fb with matching contents. The end result is
a white rectangle in the top left corner of the screen, the size
of which matches the now inactive VGA console.
To remedy the situation delay the disabling of VGA memory until
the vgacon->fbcon handoff has happened.
Also rename i915_enable_vga to i915_enable_vga_mem to make
the relationship between these functions clearer.

"Board updates for 3.12. Again, a bit of domain overlap with SoC and
DT branches, but most of this is around legacy code and board support.
We've found that platform maintainers have a hard time separating all
of these out and might move towards fewer branches for next release.
- Removal of a number of Marvell Kirkwood board files, since contents
is now common and mostly configured via DT.
- Device-tree updates for Marvell Dove, including irqchip and
clocksource setup.
- Defconfig updates. Gotta go somewhere. One new one for Renesas
Lager.
- New backlight drivers for backlights used on Renesas shmobile
platforms.
- Removal of Renesas leds driver.
- Shuffling of some of the new Broadcom platforms to give room for

Since the _get_rate() helper has been modified to use __clk_lookup()
internally, checking of PLL input rates can be done using it and so the
registration code can be simplified.

This patch adds rate tables for PLLs that can be reconfigured at runtime
for Exynos4x12 SoCs. Provided tables contain PLL coefficients for
input clock of 24 MHz and so are registered only in this case. MPLL does
not need runtime reconfiguration and so table for it is not provided.

for Exynos4210 SoCs. Provided tables contain PLL coefficients for
input clock of 24 MHz and so are registered only in this case. MPLL does
not need runtime reconfiguration and so table for it is not provided.

Since PLL input frequency must be known before PLL registration,
mout_vpllsrc clock which is a reference clock of VPLL must be registered
before VPLL.
This patch reorders clock registration to register mout_vpllsrc before
VPLL.

Since Exynos does not support legacy non-DT boot anymore, most of clock
lookups happen using device tree, so most of static clkdev aliases are no
longer necessary. This patch removes them.

There is no need to use clkdev inside the clock driver to retrieve the
clocks for internal use. Instead __clk_lookup() helper can be used to
look up clocks by their platform name.
This patch modifies the behavior of _get_rate() helper to look up clocks
by platform name and adjusts all users of it to pass platform names
instead of clkdev aliases.

Exynos cpufreq driver is the only remaining piece of code that needs
static clkdev aliases for operation, because it can not do device tree
based clock lookups yet.
This patch moves clock alias definitions for those clocks to separate
arrays that can be used with samsung_clk_register_alias() helper.

A recent patch made it possible to bring up the character handle when the
device is responsive but not accepting a set-features command. Another
recent patch moved the initialization that requires we move where the
checks for this condition occur. This patch merges these two ideas so
it works much as before.

This patch proposes to remove the MLX5_DEBUG kernel configuration
parameter defined in drivers/net/ethernet/mellanox/mlx5/core/Kconfig,
but used nowhere in the makefiles and source code.
This could also be fixed by using this parameter,
but this may be a leftover from driver development...

Commit c0a77ec74f295013d7ba3204dd3ed25fccf83cb4 'bnx2x: Add missing braces in
bnx2x:bnx2x_link_initialize' identified indentation problem, but resolved it
by adding braces instead of fixing the indentation. The braces now prevents a
config_init call in some cases, though it should be called regardless of that
condition. This patch removes the braces and fix the confusing indentation
that caused this mess.

Right now the Makefile for the mpt3sas driver does not even allow the
driver to be built into the kernel. So fix that up, as there doesn't
seem to be any obvious reason why this shouldn't be done.

This fixes an issue seen with devices getting marked offline
in a scenario where a VIOS was getting rebooted while a
client VFC adapter is in SCSI EH and prevents unnecessary
EH escalation in some scenarios.

This change fixes a problem where a Store operation to an ArgX object
that contained a reference to a field object did not complete the
automatic dereference and then write to the actual field object.
Instead, the object type of the field object was inadvertently changed
to match the type of the source operand. The new behavior will actually
write to the field object (buffer field or field unit), thus matching
the correct ACPI-defined behavior.

ACPI has _BCM and _BQC methods to set and query the backlight
brightness, respectively. The ACPI opregion has variables BCLP and CBLV
to hold the requested and current backlight brightness, respectively.
The BCLP variable has range 0..255 while the others have range
0..100. This means the _BCM method has to scale the brightness for BCLP,
and the gfx driver has to scale the requested value back for CBLV. If
the _BQC method uses the CBLV variable (apparently some implementations
do, some don't) for current backlight level reporting, there's room for
rounding errors.
Use DIV_ROUND_UP for scaling back to CBLV to get back to the same values
that were passed to _BCM, presuming the _BCM simply uses bclp = (in *
255) / 100 for scaling to BCLP.

Once again we find that Valleyview is ever so subtlety different from
the rest of its gen7 brethen. In this case, Valleyview has no support
for pageflipping from the RCS ring.
Fixes a regression from

Merge commit 06c54055bebf did a bad conflict resolution accidentally

Support the collection of I/O statistics on user-defined regions of
a DM device. If no regions are defined no statistics are collected so
there isn't any performance impact. Only bio-based DM devices are
currently supported.
Each user-defined region specifies a starting sector, length and step.
Individual statistics will be collected for each step-sized area within
the range specified.
The I/O statistics counters for each step-sized area of a region are
in the same format as /sys/block/*/stat or /proc/diskstats but extra
counters (12 and 13) are provided: total time spent reading and
writing in milliseconds. All these counters may be accessed by sending
the @stats_print message to the appropriate DM device via dmsetup.
The creation of DM statistics will allocate memory via kmalloc or
fallback to using vmalloc space. At most, 1/4 of the overall system
memory may be allocated by DM statistics. The admin can see how much
memory is used by reading
/sys/module/dm_mod/parameters/stats_current_allocated_bytes

If pool has 'no_free_space' set it means a previous allocation already
determined the pool has no free space (and failed that allocation with
-ENOSPC). By always returning -ENOSPC if 'no_free_space' is set, we do
not allow the pool to oscillate between allocating blocks and then not.
But a side-effect of this determinism is that if a user wants to be able
to allocate new blocks they'll need to reload the pool's table (to clear
the 'no_free_space' flag). This reload will happen automatically if the
pool's data volume is resized. But if the user takes action to free a
lot of space by deleting snapshot volumes, etc the pool will no longer
allow data allocations to continue without an intervening table reload.
