2021-08-19staging: r8188eu: convert all rtw_zvmalloc calls to vzalloc callsPhillip Potter
Convert all rtw_zvmalloc calls within the driver to use the existing kernel vzalloc function, which has the same semantics. Also rewrite the two places where it is mentioned in comments to say vzalloc, and remove the redundant cast to struct adapter * in ./os_dep/usb_intf.c as vzalloc returns void *. The reason for the conversion is that rtw_zvmalloc is just a preprocessor definition for _rtw_zvmalloc which itself is just an inline wrapper around vmalloc which then zeroes the memory out. As vzalloc does the same thing via usage of __GFP_ZERO, this code is redundant and can subsequently be removed. 2021-08-19staging: r8188eu: remove function _rtw_vmallocPhillip Potter
Remove the function _rtw_vmalloc from os_dep/osdep_service.c, converting its only user (also in os_dep/osdep_service.c) to use plain vmalloc. This function is just an inline wrapper around vmalloc which returns a u8 pointer, which isn't needed. Also remove the declaration from include/osdep_service.h. It is considered generally bad practice to declare functions as inline in the majority of cases, as not only can this qualifier be ignored by the compiler but the compiler generally makes good decisions about inlining anyway. 2021-08-19lkdtm: replace SCSI_DISPATCH_CMD with SCSI_QUEUE_RQKevin Mitchell
When scsi_dispatch_cmd was moved to scsi_lib.c and made static, some compilers (i.e., at least gcc 8.4.0) decided to compile this inline. This is a problem for lkdtm.ko, which inserted a kprobe on this function for the SCSI_DISPATCH_CMD crashpoint. Move this crashpoint one function up the call chain to scsi_queue_rq. Though this is also a static function, it should never be inlined because it is assigned as a structure entry. Therefore, kprobe_register should always be able to find it. 2021-08-19soc: aspeed: Re-enable FWH2AHB on AST2600Joel Stanley
Recent builds of the vendor u-boot tree disable features of the BMC that may allow unwanted access if not correctly configured. This includes the firmware hub to ahb bridge (FWH2AHB), which is used by this driver. The bit to "un-disable" it is in the SCU. Set it only when the ioctl is called and we are running on the ast2600, as to not open up the 'backdoor' unless there's userspace trying to use it. 2021-08-18net: mscc: ocelot: allow forwarding from bridge ports to the tag_8021q CPU portVladimir Oltean
Currently we are unable to ping a bridge on top of a felix switch which uses the ocelot-8021q tagger. The packets are dropped on the ingress of the user port and the 'drop_local' counter increments (the counter which denotes drops due to no valid destinations). Dumping the PGID tables, it becomes clear that the PGID_SRC of the user port is zero, so it has no valid destinations. But looking at the code, the cpu_fwd_mask (the bit mask of DSA tag_8021q ports) is clearly missing from the forwarding mask of ports that are under a bridge. So this has always been broken. 2021-08-18drm/amdgpu: get extended xgmi topology dataJonathan Kim
The TA has a limit to the amount of data that can be retrieved from GET_TOPOLOGY. For setups that exceed this limit, the xGMI topology needs to be re-initialized and data needs to be re-fetched from the extended link records by setting a flag in the shared command buffer. The number of hops and the number of links must be accumulated by the driver. Other data points are all fetched from the first request. Because the TA has already exceeded its link record limit, it cannot hold bidirectional information. 2021-08-18PCI: Setup ACPI fwnode early and at the same time with OFShanker Donthineni
Previously, the ACPI_COMPANION() of a pci_dev was usually set by acpi_bind_one() in this path: pci_device_add pci_configure_device pci_init_capabilities device_add device_platform_notify acpi_platform_notify acpi_device_notify # KOBJ_ADD acpi_bind_one ACPI_COMPANION_SET However, things like pci_configure_device() and pci_init_capabilities() that run before device_add() need the ACPI_COMPANION, e.g., acpi_pci_bridge_d3() uses a _DSD method to learn about D3 support. These places had special-case code to manually look up the ACPI_COMPANION. Set the ACPI_COMPANION earlier, in pci_setup_device(), so it will be available while configuring the device. This covers both paths to creating pci_dev objects: pci_scan_single_device # for normal non-SR-IOV devices pci_scan_device pci_setup_device pci_set_acpi_fwnode pci_device_add pci_iov_add_virtfn # for SR-IOV virtual functions pci_setup_device pci_set_acpi_fwnode Also move the OF fwnode setup to the same spot. 2021-08-18coresight: config: Add preloaded configurationsMike Leach
Preload set of configurations. This patch creates a small set of preloaded configurations and features that are available immediately after coresight has been initialised. The current set provides a strobing feature for ETMv4, that creates a periodic sampling of trace by switching trace generation on and off using counters in the ETM. A configuration called "autofdo" is also provided that uses the 'strobing' feature and provides a couple of preset values, selectable on the perf command line. Devices register with matching information, and any features or configurations that match will be loaded into the device. Creates an system management API to allow complex configurations and features to be programmed into a CoreSight infrastructure. A feature is defined as a programming set for a device or class of devices. A configuration is a set of features across the system that are enabled for a trace session. The API will manage system wide configuration, and allow complex programmed features to be added to individual device instances, and provide for system wide configuration selection on trace capture operations. This patch creates the initial data object and the initial API for loading configurations and features.
