netup_eeprom_write() was added in 2009 by
commit b45c0551f94d ("V4L/DVB (10797): Add EEPROM code for NetUP Dual
DVB-S2 CI card.")
but has remained unused.
Remove it.

In tc358746_link_validate() an attempt is made to get the state lock of the
subdev, but since this is already held by the calling function
v4l2_subdev_link_validate(), this leads to a deadlock.
Another problem is that this function queries the link frequency of the
source device. Since some image sensors use the lock of the v4l2 control
handler as a state lock, which is already held at this point, a deadlock
can also occur here.
Move the calculation of the FIFO size from tc358746_link_validate() to
tc358746_apply_misc_config() to avoid the deadlocks mentioned.

When calculating D-PHY registers, using data rates that are not multiples
of 16 can lead to precision loss in division operations. This can result in
register values that produce timing violations against the MIPI standard.
An example:
cfg->hs_clk_rate = 294MHz
hf_clk = 18
If the desired value in cfg->init is 100us, which is the minimum allowed
value, then the LINEINITCNT register is calculated as 1799. But since the
actual clock is 18.375MHz instead of 18MHz, this setting results in a time
that is shorter than 100us and thus violates the standard. The correct
value for LINEINITCNT would be 1837.
Improve the precision of calculations by using Hz instead of MHz as unit.

The TC358746 supports RAW formats with 8, 10, 12, and 14-bit depths. Since
pixel data is transported transparently without modifying the pixel
arrangement, all Bayer patterns (RGGB, BGGR, GRBG, GBRG) are supported.

As per dt-bindings the property is called vddio-supply, so use the
correct name in the driver instead of iovdd. The datasheet also calls
the supply 'VDDIO'.

When an Icelake or Sapphire Rapids CPU isn't providing the maximum and
critical thresholds for particular DIMM the driver should return an
error to the userspace instead of giving it stale (best case) or wrong
(the structure contains all zeros after kzalloc() call) data.
The issue can be reproduced by binding the peci driver while the host is
fully booted and idle, this makes PECI interaction unreliable enough.

The PCI P2PDMA code will register the CMB block to the memory
hot-plugging subsystem, which have an alignment requirement. Memory
blocks that do not satisfy this alignment requirement (usually 2MB) will
lead to a WARNING from memory hotplugging.
Verify the CMB block's address and size against the alignment and only
try to send CMB blocks compatible with it to prevent this warning.
Tested on Intel DC D4502 SSD, which has a 512K CMB block that is too
small for memory hotplugging (thus PCI P2PDMA).

CMB decoding should get disabled when the CMB block isn't successfully
registered to P2P DMA subsystem.
Clean up the CMBMSC register in this error handling codepath to disable
CMB decoding (and CMBLOC/CMBSZ registers).

nvme_tcp_poll() may race with the send path error handler because
it may complete the request while it is actively being polled for
completion, resulting in a UAF panic [1]:
We should make sure to stop polling when we see an error when
trying to read from the socket. Hence make sure to propagate the
error so that the block layer breaks the polling cycle.

Calling cpumask_next_wrap_old() with starting CPU == nr_cpu_ids
is effectively the same as request to find first CPU, starting
from a given one and wrapping around if needed.
cpumask_next_wrap() is a proper replacement for that.

lpfc_next_online_cpu() opencodes cpumask_next_and_wrap() by using
a for-loop. Use it and make the lpfc_next_online_cpu() a plain
one-liner.
While there, rework lpfc_next_present_cpu() similarly. Notice that
cpumask_next() followed by cpumask_first() in the worst case of an
empty mask may traverse the mask twice. Cpumask_next_wrap() takes
care of that correctly.

The next patch aligns implementation of cpumask_next_wrap() with the
find_next_bit_wrap(), and it changes function signature.
To make the transition smooth, this patch deprecates current
implementation by adding an _old suffix. The following patches switch
current users to the new implementation one by one.
No functional changes were intended.

A loop based on cpumask_next_wrap() opencodes the dedicated macro
for_each_online_cpu_wrap(). Use it as it improves readability and
simplifies maintenance.
This also helps to drop cpumask handling code in the caller function.

Currently we treat EFAULT from hmm_range_fault() as a non-fatal error
when called from xe_vm_userptr_pin() with the idea that we want to avoid
killing the entire vm and chucking an error, under the assumption that
the user just did an unmap or something, and has no intention of
actually touching that memory from the GPU. At this point we have
already zapped the PTEs so any access should generate a page fault, and
if the pin fails there also it will then become fatal.
However it looks like it's possible for the userptr vma to still be on
the rebind list in preempt_rebind_work_func(), if we had to retry the
pin again due to something happening in the caller before we did the
rebind step, but in the meantime needing to re-validate the userptr and
this time hitting the EFAULT.

Followed by NPD, when running some workload, since the sg was never
actually populated but the vma is still marked for rebind when it should
be skipped for this special EFAULT case. This is confirmed to fix the

On error restore anything still on the pin_list back to the invalidation
list on error. For the actual pin, so long as the vma is tracked on
either list it should get picked up on the next pin, however it looks
possible for the vma to get nuked but still be present on this per vm
pin_list leading to corruption. An alternative might be then to instead
just remove the link when destroying the vma.

After adding a pinctrl flag to gpio-mmio we can use it
for driving gpio-vf610.
The existing code has the same semantics and the generic
gpio-mmio, including reading from the data out register
when the direction is set to input, and it can also handle
the absence of the direction register better than the
current driver: we get the direction from the shadow
direction registers in gpio-mmio instead.
Since gpio-mmio has an internal spinlock we can drop the
direction-protecting spinlock from the driver.

It turns out that with this flag we can switch over an entire
driver to use gpio-mmio instead of a bunch of custom code,
also providing get/set_multiple() to it in the process, so it
seems like a reasonable feature to add.
The generic pin control backend requires us to call the
gpiochip_generic_request(), gpiochip_generic_free(),
pinctrl_gpio_direction_output() and pinctrl_gpio_direction_input()
callbacks, so if the new flag for a pin control back-end
is set, we make sure these functions get called as
expected.

The Rockchip power-domain controller also plans to make use of
per-domain regulators similar to the MediaTek power-domain controller.
Since existing DTs are missing the regulator information, the kernel
should fallback to the automatically created dummy regulator if
necessary. Thus the version without the _optional suffix is needed.
The Rockchip driver plans to use the managed version, but to be
consistent with existing code the unmanaged version is added at the
same time.

Both gpio-sim and gpio-virtuser share a mechanism to instantiate a
platform device, wait for probe completion, and retrieve the probe
success or error status synchronously. With gpio-aggregator planned to
adopt this approach for its configfs interface, it's time to factor
out the common code.
Add dev-sync-probe.[ch] to house helper functions used by all such
implementations.
No functional change.

tpacpi_pdriver's probe.
It was reported that if subdrivers assigned devres resources inside
ibm_init_struct's .init callbacks, driver binding would fail with the
following error message:
platform thinkpad_acpi: Resources present before probing
Let the driver core manage the lifetimes of the subdrivers and children
devices, by initializing them inside tpacpi_driver's .probe callback.
This is appropriate because these subdrivers usually expose sysfs groups
and the driver core manages this automatically to avoid races.
One immediate benefit of this, is that we are now able to use devres
inside .init subdriver callbacks.
platform_create_bundle is specifically used because it makes the
driver's probe type synchronous and returns an ERR_PTR if attachment
failed.
Additionally, to make error handling simpler, allocate the input device
using devm_input_allocate_device().

After performing some tests with a custom SSDT table available at
https://github.com/Wer-Wolf/acpi-wmi-ssdt i found out that Windows
also enables data block collection even when the data block is
being set.
Emulate this behaviour to avoid confusing the ACPI firmware.
The bus-based API already implements this behaviour, so only the
legacy GUID-based API needs to be changed.

The handling of the WExx ACPI methods used for enabling and disabling
WMI events has multiple flaws:
- the ACPI methods are called even when the WMI device has not been
marked as expensive.
- WExx ACPI methods might be called for inappropriate WMI devices.
- the error code AE_NOT_FOUND is treated as success.
The handling of the WCxx ACPI methods used for enabling and disabling
WMI data blocks is also flawed:
- WMI data blocks are enabled and disabled for every single "query"
operation. This is racy and inefficient.
Unify the handling of both ACPI methods by introducing a common
helper function for enabling and disabling WMI devices.
Also enable/disable WMI data blocks during probe/remove and shutdown
to match the handling of WMI events.
Legacy GUID-based functions still have to enable/disable the WMI
device manually and thus still suffer from a potential race condition.
Since those functions are deprecated and suffer from various other
flaws this issue is purposefully not fixed.

Use devm_add_action_or_reset() to disable the WMI device instead of
manually calling wmi_method_enable() to prepare for future changes
inside the WMI data block handlign code.
The reason for this is that we have to make sure that all
devres-managed resources are released first because some might still
want to access the underlying WMI device.
Because devres-managed resources are not released during shutdown
we still have to manually disable the WMI device in this case.

The WMI core already knows the instance count of a WMI guid.
Use this information instead of querying all possible instances
which is slow and might be unreliable.
