2023-04-20usb: gadget: udc: core: Prevent redundant calls to pullupBadhri Jagan Sridharan
usb_gadget_connect calls gadget->ops->pullup without checking whether gadget->connected was previously set. Make this symmetric to usb_gadget_disconnect by returning early if gadget->connected is already set. Fixes: 5a1da544e572 ("usb: gadget: core: do not try to disconnect gadget if it is not connected") Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Badhri Jagan Sridharan <badhri@google.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20230407030741.3163220-2-badhri@google.com Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2023-04-20usb: gadget: udc: core: Invoke usb_gadget_connect only when startedBadhri Jagan Sridharan
usb_udc_connect_control does not check to see if the udc has already been started. This causes gadget->ops->pullup to be called through usb_gadget_connect when invoked from usb_udc_vbus_handler even before usb_gadget_udc_start is called. Guard this by checking for udc->started in usb_udc_connect_control before invoking usb_gadget_connect. Guarding udc->vbus, udc->started, gadget->connect, gadget->deactivate related functions with connect_lock. usb_gadget_connect_locked, usb_gadget_disconnect_locked, usb_udc_connect_control_locked, usb_gadget_udc_start_locked, usb_gadget_udc_stop_locked are called with this lock held as they can be simulataneously invoked from different code paths. Adding an additional check to make sure udc is started(udc->started) before pullup callback is invoked. 2023-04-20usb: typec: tcpm: fix multiple times discover svids errorFrank Wang
PD3.0 Spec 6.4.4.3.2 say that only Responder supports 12 or more SVIDs, the Discover SVIDs Command Shall be executed multiple times until a Discover SVIDs VDO is returned ending either with a SVID value of 0x0000 in the last part of the last VDO or with a VDO containing two SVIDs with values of 0x0000. In the current implementation, if the last VDO does not find that the Discover SVIDs Command would be executed multiple times even if the Responder SVIDs are less than 12, and we found some odd dockers just meet this case. 2023-04-20USB: dwc3: drop dead hibernation codeJohan Hovold
The hibernation code is broken and has never been enabled in mainline and should thus be dropped. Specifically, the scratch buffer DMA mapping would have been leaked on every suspend cycle since commit 51f5d49ad6f0 ("usb: dwc3: core: simplify suspend/resume operations") if this feature was ever enabled. The related error handling was also broken and could have resulted in attempts to unmap never mapped buffers, etc. This effectively revert commit 0ffcaf3798bf ("usb: dwc3: core: allocate scratch buffers"). 2023-04-20usb: dwc2: platform: add support for utmi optional clockFabrice Gasnier
Add support for the utmi clock. It's needed on STM32MP15, when using the integrated full-speed PHY. This clock is an output of USBPHYC, but HS USBPHYC is not attached as PHY in this case: Full-Speed PHY is directly managed in dwc2 glue, through GGPIO register. Typical DT when using FS PHY &usbotg_hs { compatible = "st,stm32mp15-fsotg", "snps,dwc2"; pinctrl-names = "default"; pinctrl-0 = <&usbotg_hs_pins_a &usbotg_fs_dp_dm_pins_a>; vbus-supply = <&vbus_otg>; status = "okay"; }; In this configuration, USBPHYC clock output must be defined, so it can be properly enabled as a clock provider: clocks = <&rcc USBO_K>, <&usbphyc>; clock-names = "otg", "utmi"; Acked-by: Minas Harutyunyan <hminas@synopsys.com> Signed-off-by: Fabrice Gasnier <fabrice.gasnier@foss.st.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20230414084137.1050487-4-fabrice.gasnier@foss.st.com Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

Commit ac82b56bda5f ("usb: gadget: tegra-xudc: Add vbus_draw support") populated the vbus_draw callback for the Tegra XUDC driver. The function tegra_xudc_gadget_vbus_draw(), that was added by this commit, assumes that the pointer 'curr_usbphy' has been initialised, which is not always the case because this is only initialised when the USB role is updated. Fix this crash, by checking that the 'curr_usbphy' is valid before dereferencing. 2023-04-19x86: remove 'zerorest' argument from __copy_user_nocache()Linus Torvalds
Every caller passes in zero, meaning they don't want any partial copy to zero the remainder of the destination buffer. Which is just as well, because the implementation of that function didn't actually even look at that argument, and wasn't even aware it existed, although some misleading comments did mention it still. The 'zerorest' thing is a historical artifact of how "copy_from_user()" worked, in that it would zero the rest of the kernel buffer that it copied into. That zeroing still exists, but it's long since been moved to generic code, and the raw architecture-specific code doesn't do it. See _copy_from_user() in lib/usercopy.c for this all. However, while __copy_user_nocache() shares some history and superficial other similarities with copy_from_user(), it is in many ways also very different. In particular, while the code makes it *look* similar to the generic user copy functions that can copy both to and from user space, and take faults on both reads and writes as a result, __copy_user_nocache() does no such thing at all. __copy_user_nocache() always copies to kernel space, and will never take a page fault on the destination. What *can* happen, though, is that the non-temporal stores take a machine check because one of the use cases is for writing to stable memory, and any memory errors would then take synchronous faults. So __copy_user_nocache() does look a lot like copy_from_user(), but has faulting behavior that is more akin to our old copy_in_user() (which no longer exists, but copied from user space to user space and could fault on both source and destination). And it very much does not have the "zero the end of the destination buffer", since a problem with the destination buffer is very possibly the very source of the partial copy. So this whole thing was just a confusing historical artifact from having shared some code with a completely different function with completely different use cases. Apparently there is one more use case of the check outside of ptp part of the driver which was not converted to the new macro and is making a lot of noise in free-running mode. 2023-04-19net: dsa: mt7530: fix support for MT7531BEDaniel Golle
There are two variants of the MT7531 switch IC which got different features (and pins) regarding port 5: * MT7531AE: SGMII/1000Base-X/2500Base-X SerDes PCS * MT7531BE: RGMII Moving the creation of the SerDes PCS from mt753x_setup to mt7530_probe with commit 6de285229773 ("net: dsa: mt7530: move SGMII PCS creation to mt7530_probe function") works fine for MT7531AE which got two instances of mtk-pcs-lynxi, however, MT7531BE requires mt7531_pll_setup to setup clocks before the single PCS on port 6 (usually used as CPU port) starts to work and hence the PCS creation failed on MT7531BE. Fix this by introducing a pointer to mt7531_create_sgmii function in struct mt7530_priv and call it again at the end of mt753x_setup like it was before commit 6de285229773 ("net: dsa: mt7530: move SGMII PCS creation to mt7530_probe function"). 2023-04-19rpmsg: glink: Propagate TX failures in intentless mode as wellBjorn Andersson
As support for splitting transmission over several messages using TX_DATA_CONT was introduced it does not immediately return the return value of qcom_glink_tx(). The result is that in the intentless case (i.e. intent == NULL), the code will continue to send all additional chunks. This is wasteful, and it's possible that the send operation could incorrectly indicate success, if the last chunk fits in the TX fifo. Fix the condition. 2023-04-19rpmsg: glink: Wait for intent, not just request ackBjorn Andersson
In some implementations of the remote firmware, an intent request acknowledgment is sent when it's determined if the intent allocation will be fulfilled, but then the intent is queued after the acknowledgment. The result is that upon receiving a granted allocation request, the search for the newly allocated intent will fail and an additional request will be made. This will at best waste memory, but if the second request is rejected the transaction will be incorrectly rejected. Take the incoming intent into account in the wait to mitigate this problem. The above scenario can still happen, in the case that, on that same channel, an unrelated intent is delivered prior to the request acknowledgment and a separate process enters the send path and picks up the intent. Given that there's no relationship between the acknowledgment and the delivered (or to be delivered intent), there doesn't seem to be a solution to this problem. 2023-04-19dm: don't lock fs when the map is NULL in process of resumeLi Lingfeng
Commit fa247089de99 ("dm: requeue IO if mapping table not yet available") added a detection of whether the mapping table is available in the IO submission process. If the mapping table is unavailable, it returns BLK_STS_RESOURCE and requeues the IO. This can lead to the following deadlock problem: dm create mount ioctl(DM_DEV_CREATE_CMD) ioctl(DM_TABLE_LOAD_CMD) do_mount vfs_get_tree ext4_get_tree get_tree_bdev sget_fc alloc_super // got &s->s_umount down_write_nested(&s->s_umount, ...); ext4_fill_super ext4_load_super ext4_read_bh submit_bio // submit and wait io end ioctl(DM_DEV_SUSPEND_CMD) dev_suspend do_resume dm_suspend __dm_suspend lock_fs freeze_bdev get_active_super grab_super // wait for &s->s_umount down_write(&s->s_umount); dm_swap_table __bind // set md->map(can't get here) IO will be continuously requeued while holding the lock since mapping table is NULL. At the same time, mapping table won't be set since the lock is not available. Like request-based DM, bio-based DM also has the same problem. It's not proper to just abort IO if the mapping table not available. So clear DM_SKIP_LOCKFS_FLAG when the mapping table is NULL, this allows the DM table to be loaded and the IO submitted upon resume.
