2021-11-26ath11k: Use host CE parameters for CE interrupts configurationAnilkumar Kolli
CE interrupt configuration uses host ce parameters to assign/free interrupts. Use host ce parameters to enable/disable interrupts. This patch fixes below BUG, BUG: KASAN: global-out-of-bounds in 0xffffffbffdfb035c at addr ffffffbffde6eeac Read of size 4 by task kworker/u8:2/132 Address belongs to variable ath11k_core_qmi_firmware_ready+0x1b0/0x5bc [ath11k] OOB is due to ath11k_ahb_ce_irqs_enable() iterates ce_count(which is 12) times and accessing 12th element in target_ce_config (which has only 11 elements) from ath11k_ahb_ce_irq_enable(). With this change host ce configs are used to enable/disable interrupts. 2021-11-25net: ipa: support enhanced channel flow controlAlex Elder
IPA v4.2 introduced GSI channel flow control, used instead of IPA endpoint DELAY mode to prevent a TX channel from injecting packets into the IPA core. It used a new FLOW_CONTROLLED channel state which could be entered using GSI generic commands. IPA v4.11 extended the channel flow control model. Rather than having a distinct FLOW_CONTROLLED channel state, each channel has a "flow control" property that can be enabled or not--independent of the channel state. The AP (or modem) can modify this property using the same GSI generic commands as before. The AP only uses channel flow control on modem TX channels, and only when recovering from a modem crash. The AP has no way to discover the state of a modem channel, so the fact that (starting with IPA v4.11) flow control no longer uses a distinct channel state is invisible to the AP. So enhanced flow control generally does not change the way AP uses flow control. There are a few small differences, however: - There is a notion of "primary" or "secondary" flow control, and when enabling or disabling flow control that must be specified in a new field in the GSI generic command register. For now, we always specify 0 (meaning "primary"). - When disabling flow control, it's possible a request will need to be retried. We retry up to 5 times in this case. - Another new generic command allows the current flow control state to be queried. We do not use this. Other than the need for retries, the code essentially works the same way as before. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2021-11-25net: ipa: introduce channel flow controlAlex Elder
One quirk for certain versions of IPA is that endpoint DELAY mode does not work properly. IPA DELAY mode prevents any packets from being delivered to the IPA core for processing on a TX endpoint. The AP uses DELAY mode when the modem crashes, to prevent modem TX endpoints from generating traffic during crash recovery. Without this, there is a chance the hardware will stall during recovery from a modem crash. To achieve a similar effect, a GSI FLOW_CONTROLLED channel state was created. A STARTED TX channel can be placed in FLOW_CONTROLLED state, which prevents the transfer of any more packets. A channel in FLOW_CONTROLLED state can be either returned to STARTED state, or can be transitioned to STOPPED state. Because this operates on GSI channels, two generic commands were added to allow the AP to control this state for modem channels (similar to the ALLOCATE and HALT channel commands). Previously the code assumed this quirk only applied to IPA v4.2. In fact, channel flow control (rather than endpoint DELAY mode) should be used for all versions *starting* with IPA v4.2. 2021-11-25mctp: serial: enforce fixed MTUJeremy Kerr
The current serial driver requires a maximum MTU of 68, and it doesn't make sense to set a MTU below the MCTP-required baseline (of 68) either. This change sets the min_mtu & max_mtu of the mctp netdev, essentially disallowing changes. By using these instead of a ndo_change_mtu op, we get the netlink extacks reported too. 2021-11-25net: ipa: rearrange GSI structure fieldsAlex Elder
The dummy net_device is a large field in the GSI structure, but it is not at all interesting from the perspective of debugging. Move it to the end of the GSI structure so the other fields are easier to find in memory. The channel and event ring arrays are also very large, so move them near the end of the structure as well. Swap the position of the result and completion fields to improve structure packing. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2021-11-25net: ipa: GSI only needs one completionAlex Elder
A mutex ensures we never submit more than one GSI command of any kind at once. This means the per-channel and per-event ring completion structures provide no benefit. Instead, just use the single (existing) GSI completion to signal the completion of GSI commands of all types. This makes gsi_evt_ring_init() a trivial function with no inverse, so open-code it in its sole caller and get rid of the function. 2021-11-25net: ipa: skip SKB copy if no netdevAlex Elder
In ipa_endpoint_skb_copy(), a new socket buffer structure is allocated so that some data can be copied into it. However, after doing this, if the endpoint has a null netdev pointer, we just drop free the socket buffer. Instead, check endpoint->netdev pointer first, and just return early if it's null. Also return early if the SKB allocation fails, to avoid the deeper indentation in the normal path. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2021-11-25net: ipa: explicitly disable HOLB drop during setupAlex Elder
During setup, ipa_endpoint_program() programs each endpoint with various configuration parameters. One of those registers defines whether to drop packets when a head-of-line blocking condition is detected on an RX endpoint. We currently assume this is disabled; instead, explicitly set it to be disabled. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2021-11-25net: ipa: rework how HOL_BLOCK handling is specifiedAlex Elder
The head-of-line block (HOLB) drop timer is only meaningful when dropping packets due to blocking is enabled. Given that, redefine the interface so the timer is specified when enabling HOLB drop, and use a different function when disabling. To enable and disable HOLB drop, these functions will now be used: ipa_endpoint_init_hol_block_enable(endpoint, milliseconds) ipa_endpoint_init_hol_block_disable(endpoint) The existing ipa_endpoint_init_hol_block_enable() becomes a helper function, renamed ipa_endpoint_init_hol_block_en(), and used with ipa_endpoint_init_hol_block_timer() to enable HOLB block on an endpoint. 2021-11-25net: ipa: zero unused portions of filter table memoryAlex Elder
Not all filter table entries are used. Only certain endpoints support filtering, and the table begins with a bitmap indicating which endpoints use the "slots" that follow for filter rules. Currently, unused filter table entries are not initialized. Instead, zero-fill the entire unused portion of the filter table memory regions, to make it more obvious that memory is unused (and not subsequently modified). This is not strictly necessary, but the result is reassuring when looking at filter table memory. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2021-11-25net: ipa: kill ipa_modem_init()Alex Elder
A recent commit made disabling the SMP2P "setup ready" interrupt unrelated to ipa_modem_stop(). Given that, it seems fitting to get rid of ipa_modem_init() and ipa_modem_exit() (which are trivial wrapper functions), and call ipa_smp2p_init() and ipa_smp2p_exit() directly instead. 2021-11-25net: dsa: felix: enable cut-through forwarding between ports by defaultVladimir Oltean
The VSC9959 switch embedded within NXP LS1028A (and that version of Ocelot switches only) supports cut-through forwarding - meaning it can start the process of looking up the destination ports for a packet, and forward towards those ports, before the entire packet has been received (as opposed to the store-and-forward mode). The up side is having lower forwarding latency for large packets. The down side is that frames with FCS errors are forwarded instead of being dropped. However, erroneous frames do not result in incorrect updates of the FDB or incorrect policer updates, since these processes are deferred inside the switch to the end of frame. Since the switch starts the cut-through forwarding process after all packet headers (including IP, if any) have been processed, packets with large headers and small payload do not see the benefit of lower forwarding latency. There are two cases that need special attention. The first is when a packet is multicast (or flooded) to multiple destinations, one of which doesn't have cut-through forwarding enabled. The switch deals with this automatically by disabling cut-through forwarding for the frame towards all destination ports. The second is when a packet is forwarded from a port of lower link speed towards a port of higher link speed. This is not handled by the hardware and needs software intervention. Since we practically need to update the cut-through forwarding domain from paths that aren't serialized by the rtnl_mutex (phylink mac_link_down/mac_link_up ops), this means we need to serialize physical link events with user space updates of bonding/bridging domains. Enabling cut-through forwarding is done per {egress port, traffic class}. I don't see any reason why this would be a configurable option as long as it works without issues, and there doesn't appear to be any user space configuration tool to toggle this on/off, so this patch enables cut-through forwarding on all eligible ports and traffic classes. 2021-11-25net: ocelot: remove "bridge" argument from ocelot_get_bridge_fwd_maskVladimir Oltean

2021-11-25serial: 8250: Fix RTS modem control while in rs485 modeLukas Wunner
Commit f45709df7731 ("serial: 8250: Don't touch RTS modem control while in rs485 mode") sought to prevent user space from interfering with rs485 communication by ignoring a TIOCMSET ioctl() which changes RTS polarity. It did so in serial8250_do_set_mctrl(), which turns out to be too deep in the call stack: When a uart_port is opened, RTS polarity is set by the rs485-aware function uart_port_dtr_rts(). It calls down to serial8250_do_set_mctrl() and that particular RTS polarity change should *not* be ignored. The user-visible result is that on 8250_omap ports which use rs485 with inverse polarity (RTS bit in MCR register is 1 to receive, 0 to send), a newly opened port initially sets up RTS for sending instead of receiving. That's because omap_8250_startup() sets the cached value up->mcr to 0 and omap_8250_restore_regs() subsequently writes it to the MCR register. Due to the commit, serial8250_do_set_mctrl() preserves that incorrect register value: do_sys_openat2 do_filp_open path_openat vfs_open do_dentry_open chrdev_open tty_open uart_open tty_port_open uart_port_activate uart_startup uart_port_startup serial8250_startup omap_8250_startup # up->mcr = 0 uart_change_speed serial8250_set_termios omap_8250_set_termios omap_8250_restore_regs serial8250_out_MCR # up->mcr written tty_port_block_til_ready uart_dtr_rts uart_port_dtr_rts serial8250_set_mctrl omap8250_set_mctrl serial8250_do_set_mctrl # mcr[1] = 1 ignored Fix by intercepting RTS changes from user space in uart_tiocmset() instead. 2021-11-25serial: liteuart: relax compile-test dependenciesJohan Hovold
The LITEX symbol is neither a build or runtime dependency for the liteuart serial driver. LITEX is selected by the "LiteX SoC Controller" driver, which does a probe-time register-access sanity check and panics if the SoC has not been configured correctly. That driver's Kconfig entry asserts that any LiteX driver using the LiteX register accessors should depend on LITEX, but currently only the serial driver complies. Relax this LITEX "dependency" in order to make it easier to compile test the driver. 2021-11-25vgacon: Propagate console boot parameters before calling `vc_resize'Maciej W. Rozycki
Fix a division by zero in `vgacon_resize' with a backtrace like: vgacon_resize vc_do_resize vgacon_init do_bind_con_driver do_unbind_con_driver fbcon_fb_unbind do_unregister_framebuffer do_register_framebuffer register_framebuffer __drm_fb_helper_initial_config_and_unlock drm_helper_hpd_irq_event dw_hdmi_irq irq_thread kthread caused by `c->vc_cell_height' not having been initialized. This has only started to trigger with commit 860dafa90259 ("vt: Fix character height handling with VT_RESIZEX"), however the ultimate offender is commit 50ec42edd978 ("[PATCH] Detaching fbcon: fix vgacon to allow retaking of the console"). Said commit has added a call to `vc_resize' whenever `vgacon_init' is called with the `init' argument set to 0, which did not happen before. And the call is made before a key vgacon boot parameter retrieved in `vgacon_startup' has been propagated in `vgacon_init' for `vc_resize' to use to the console structure being worked on. Previously the parameter was `c->vc_font.height' and now it is `c->vc_cell_height'. In this particular scenario the registration of fbcon has failed and vt resorts to vgacon. Now fbcon does have initialized `c->vc_font.height' somehow, unlike `c->vc_cell_height', which is why this code did not crash before, but either way the boot parameters should have been copied to the console structure ahead of the call to `vc_resize' rather than afterwards, so that first the call has a chance to use them and second they do not change the console structure to something possibly different from what was used by `vc_resize'. Move the propagation of the vgacon boot parameters ahead of the call to `vc_resize' then. Adjust the comment accordingly. 2021-11-25tty: serial: msm_serial: Deactivate RX DMA for polling supportSven Eckelmann
The CONSOLE_POLLING mode is used for tools like k(g)db. In this kind of setup, it is often sharing a serial device with the normal system console. This is usually no problem because the polling helpers can consume input values directly (when in kgdb context) and the normal Linux handlers can only consume new input values after kgdb switched back. This is not true anymore when RX DMA is enabled for UARTDM controllers. Single input values can no longer be received correctly. Instead following seems to happen: * on 1. input, some old input is read (continuously) * on 2. input, two old inputs are read (continuously) * on 3. input, three old input values are read (continuously) * on 4. input, 4 previous inputs are received This repeats then for each group of 4 input values. This behavior changes slightly depending on what state the controller was when the first input was received. But this makes working with kgdb basically impossible because control messages are always corrupted when kgdboc tries to parse them. RX DMA should therefore be off when CONSOLE_POLLING is enabled to avoid these kind of problems. No such problem was noticed for TX DMA. 2021-11-25serial: core: fix transmit-buffer reset and memleakJohan Hovold
Commit 761ed4a94582 ("tty: serial_core: convert uart_close to use tty_port_close") converted serial core to use tty_port_close() but failed to notice that the transmit buffer still needs to be freed on final close. Not freeing the transmit buffer means that the buffer is no longer cleared on next open so that any ioctl() waiting for the buffer to drain might wait indefinitely (e.g. on termios changes) or that stale data can end up being transmitted in case tx is restarted. Furthermore, the buffer of any port that has been opened would leak on driver unbind. Note that the port lock is held when clearing the buffer pointer due to the ldisc race worked around by commit a5ba1d95e46e ("uart: fix race between uart_put_char() and uart_shutdown()"). Also note that the tty-port shutdown() callback is not called for console ports so it is not strictly necessary to free the buffer page after releasing the lock (cf. d72402145ace ("tty/serial: do not free trasnmit buffer page under port lock")). 2021-11-25RDMA/hns: Do not destroy QP resources in the hw resetting phaseYangyang Li
When hns_roce_v2_destroy_qp() is called, the brief calling process of the driver is as follows: ...... hns_roce_v2_destroy_qp hns_roce_v2_qp_modify hns_roce_cmd_mbox hns_roce_qp_destroy If hns_roce_cmd_mbox() detects that the hardware is being reset during the execution of the hns_roce_cmd_mbox(), the driver will not be able to get the return value from the hardware (the firmware cannot respond to the driver's mailbox during the hardware reset phase). The driver needs to wait for the hardware reset to complete before continuing to execute hns_roce_qp_destroy(), otherwise it may happen that the driver releases the resources but the hardware is still accessing. In order to fix this problem, HNS RoCE needs to add a piece of code to wait for the hardware reset to complete. The original interface get_hw_reset_stat() is the instantaneous state of the hardware reset, which cannot accurately reflect whether the hardware reset is completed, so it needs to be replaced with the ae_dev_reset_cnt interface. The sign that the hardware reset is complete is that the return value of the ae_dev_reset_cnt interface is greater than the original value reset_cnt recorded by the driver. For the case of IB_MR_TYPE_DM the mr does doesn't have a umem, even though it is a user MR.
