2018-01-22mmc: davinci: dont' use module_platform_driver_probe()David Lechner
This changes module_platform_driver_probe() to module_platform_driver() in the TI DaVinci MMC driver. On device tree systems, we can get a -EPROBE_DEFER when using a pinmux for the CD GPIO, which results in the driver never loading because module_platform_driver_probe() prevents it from being re-probed. So, we replace module_platform_driver_probe() with module_platform_driver() and removed the __init attributes accordingly. A number of new AQC devices is going to be released. To support more flexible capabilities management a number of static caps instances is now declared. Devices now are mainly differs by supported speeds, but in future more parameters will be customized. A set of AQC100 devices have fibre media, not twisted pair - this is also reflected in new capabilities definitions. HW level also now directly exports hw_ops for each of A0/B0 hardware. PCI configuration now uses a device configuration table where each device ID is explicitly mapped with hardware OPs and capabilities structures. Helmut reported a bug about division by zero while running traffic and doing physical cable pull test. When the cable unplugged the ppms become zero, so when dividing the current ppms by the previous ppms in the next dim iteration there is division by zero. The __memzero assembly code is almost identical to memset's except for two orr instructions. The runtime performance of __memset(p, n) and memset(p, 0, n) is accordingly almost identical. However, the memset() macro used to guard against a zero length and to call __memzero at compile time when the fill value is a constant zero interferes with compiler optimizations. According to all published information, the watchdog disable bit for SB800 compatible controllers is bit 1 of PM register 0x48, not bit 2. commit 4cd13c21b207e ("softirq: Let ksoftirqd do its job") has the effect of deferring timer handling in case of high CPU load, hence delaying the delayed work allthought the worker is running which high realtime priority. As hrtimers are not managed by softirqs, this patch replaces the delayed work by a plain work and uses an hrtimer to schedule that work. 2018-01-21watchdog: mt7621: set WDOG_HW_RUNNING bit when appropriateAndré Draszik
If the watchdog hardware is enabled/running during boot, e.g. due to a boot loader configuring it, we must tell the watchdog framework about this fact so that it can ping the watchdog until userspace opens the device and takes over control. Do so using the WDOG_HW_RUNNING flag that exists for exactly that use-case. Given the watchdog driver core doesn't know what timeout was originally set by whoever started the watchdog (boot loader), we make sure to update the timeout in the hardware according to what the watchdog core thinks it is. 2018-01-21watchdog: imx2_wdt: restore previous timeout after suspend+resumeMartin Kaiser
When the watchdog device is suspended, its timeout is set to the maximum value. During resume, the previously set timeout should be restored. This does not work at the moment. The suspend function calls imx2_wdt_set_timeout(wdog, IMX2_WDT_MAX_TIME); and resume reverts this by calling imx2_wdt_set_timeout(wdog, wdog->timeout); However, imx2_wdt_set_timeout() updates wdog->timeout. Therefore, wdog->timeout is set to IMX2_WDT_MAX_TIME when we enter the resume function. Fix this by adding a new function __imx2_wdt_set_timeout() which only updates the hardware settings. imx2_wdt_set_timeout() now calls __imx2_wdt_set_timeout() and then saves the new timeout to wdog->timeout. During suspend, we call __imx2_wdt_set_timeout() directly so that wdog->timeout won't be updated and we can restore the previous value during resume. This approach makes wdog->timeout different from the actual setting in the hardware which is usually not a good thing. However, the two differ only while we're suspended and no kernel code is running, so it should be ok in this case. rpadlpar_core.c: Provide parallel routines to search the older device- tree properties ("ibm,drc-indexes", "ibm,drc-names", "ibm,drc-types" and "ibm,drc-power-domains"), or the new property "ibm,drc-info". The interface to examine the DRC information is changed from a "get" function that returns values for local verification elsewhere, to a "check" function that validates the 'name' and/or 'type' of a device node. This update hides the format of the underlying device-tree properties, and concentrates the value checks into a single function without requiring the user to verify whether a search was successful.
