2018-01-23media: ov5640: fix spurious streamon failuresHugues Fruchet
Time to time, stream on is failing with a strange positive error. Error code is returned erroneously by ov5640_set_ctrl_exposure() due to ov5640_get_vts() return value wrongly treated as error. Fix this by forcing ret to 0 after ov5640_get_vts() success call, in order that ret is set to success for rest of code sequence. The rc5 protocol does not have a leading pulse or space, but we encode the first bit using a single leading pulse. For other protocols, the leading pulse or space does not represent any bit. 2018-01-23media: lirc: lirc daemon fails to detect raw IR deviceSean Young
Since commit 9b6192589be7 ("media: lirc: implement scancode sending"), and commit de142c324106 ("media: lirc: implement reading scancode") the lirc features ioctl for raw IR devices advertises two modes for sending and receiving. The lirc daemon now fails to detect a raw IR device, both for transmit and receive. To fix this, do not advertise the scancode mode in the lirc features for raw IR devices (however do keep it for scancode devices). The mode can still be used via the LIRC_SET_{REC,SEND}_MODE ioctl. 2018-01-23media: lirc: add module alias for lirc_devSean Young
Since commit a60d64b15c20 ("media: lirc: lirc interface should not be a raw decoder"), there is no lirc_dev module any more. On Ubuntu 16.10, the /etc/init.d/lirc startup script attempts to load the lirc_dev module. Since this module does not exist any more, this script fails. Add an alias so the correct module is loaded. 2018-01-23media: lirc: don't kfree the uninitialized pointer txbufColin Ian King
The current error exit path if ir_raw_encode_scancode fails is via the label out_kfree which kfree's an uninitialized pointer txbuf. Fix this by exiting via a new exit path that does not kfree txbuf. Also exit via this new exit path for a failed allocation of txbuf to avoid a redundant kfree on a NULL pointer (to save a bunch of CPU cycles). 2018-01-23staging: lustre: lnet/selftest: fix compile error on UP buildNeilBrown
When compiled without CONFIG_SMP, we get a compile error as ->ctb_parts is not defined. There is already a function, cfs_cpt_cpumask(), which will get the cpumask we need, and which handles the UP case by returning a NULL pointer. So use that and handle NULL. Also avoid the #ifdef by allocating a cpumask_var and copying into it, rather than sharing the mask. 2018-01-23drivers: base: add coredump driver opsArend van Spriel
This adds the coredump driver operation. When the driver defines it a coredump file is added in the sysfs folder of the device upon driver binding. The file is removed when the driver is unbound. In dasd_term_IO() ccw_device_clear() is called and the return code is checked afterwards. Though, the return codes -EIO and -EBUSY will never be returned and can therefore be removed from the check. In dasd_start_IO() the return code of either ccw_device_tm_start() or ccw_device_start() is checked. However, neither of them returns -ETIMEDOUT. Remove that check as well. The interrupt is requested before the device is powered on and it's value in some cases cannot be reliable. It happens on some devices that an interrupt is generated as soon as requested before having the chance to disable the irq. Set the irq flag as IRQ_NOAUTOEN before requesting it. This patch mutes the error: stmfts 2-0049: failed to read events: -11 received sometimes during boot time. 2018-01-22scsi: arcmsr: avoid do_gettimeofdayArnd Bergmann
The arcmsr uses its own implementation of time_to_tm(), along with do_gettimeofday() to read the current time. While the algorithm used here is fine in principle, it suffers from two problems: - it assigns the seconds portion of the timeval to a 32-bit unsigned integer that overflows in 2106 even on 64-bit architectures. - do_gettimeofday() returns a time_t that overflows in 2038 on all 32-bit systems. This changes the time retrieval function to ktime_get_real_seconds(), which returns a proper 64-bit value, and replaces the open-coded time_to_tm() algorithm with a call to the safe time64_to_tm(). I checked way all numbers are indexed and found that months are given in range 0..11 while the days are in range 1..31, same as 'struct tm', but the year value that the firmware expects starts in 2000 while 'struct tm' is based on year 1900, so it needs a small adjustment. While testing with the ARM specific memset() macro removed, I ran into a compiler warning that shows an old bug: drivers/scsi/arm/fas216.c: In function 'fas216_rq_sns_done': drivers/scsi/arm/fas216.c:2014:40: error: argument to 'sizeof' in 'memset' call is the same expression as the destination; did you mean to provide an explicit length? [-Werror=sizeof-pointer-memaccess] It turns out that the definition of the scsi_cmd structure changed back in linux-2.6.25, so now we clear only four bytes (sizeof(pointer)) instead of 96 (SCSI_SENSE_BUFFERSIZE). I did not check whether we actually need to initialize the buffer here, but it's clear that if we do it, we should use the correct size. 2018-01-22scsi: hisi_sas: fix a bug in hisi_sas_dev_gone()Xiang Chen
When device gone, NULL pointer can be accessed in free_device callback if during SAS controller reset as we clear structure sas_dev prior. Actually we can only set dev_type as SAS_PHY_UNUSED and not clear structure sas_dev as all the members of structure sas_dev will be re-initialized after device found. This patch implements LED feature of directly attached disk for v2 hw. As libsas has provided an interface lldd_write_gpio() for this feature, we just need realise the interface following SPGIO API. We use an CPLD to finish the hardware part of this feature, and the base address of CPLD should be configured through ACPI or DT tables. 2018-01-22scsi: megaraid_sas: NVMe passthrough command supportShivasharan S
NVMe passthrough via MFI interface. Current MegaRAID product supports different types of encapsulation via the MFI framework. NVMe native command should be framed by application and it should be embedded in MFI as payload. The driver will provide interface to send the MFI frame along with the payload (in this case, payload is NVMe native command) to the firmware. Driver already has an existing, similar interface for SATA and SMP passthrough. 1. Driver will pass MFI command to the firmware if the latter supports NVMe encapsulated processing (not all SAS3.5 firmware supports this feature). 2. Driver exposes sysfs entry support_nvme_encapsulation. This is required for backward compatibility for applications using earlier driver versions that did not process IOCTL frames and could result in host hang.
