2018-02-01drm/i915: Fix using BIT_ULL() vs. BIT() for power domain masksImre Deak
The power domain masks are 64 bit wide, so we need BIT_ULL() when setting bits in them, these ones were missed during converting from 32 to 64 bit masks. All 3 enums are <32 atm, so this didn't cause a real problem. 2018-02-01drm/i915: Try EDID bitbanging on HDMI after failed readStefan Brüns
The ACK/NACK implementation as found in e.g. the G965 has the falling clock edge and the release of the data line after the ACK for the received byte happen at the same time. This is conformant with the I2C specification, which allows a zero hold time, see footnote [3]: "A device must internally provide a hold time of at least 300 ns for the SDA signal (with respect to the V IH(min) of the SCL signal) to bridge the undefined region of the falling edge of SCL." Some HDMI-to-VGA converters apparently fail to adhere to this requirement and latch SDA at the falling clock edge, so instead of an ACK sometimes a NACK is read and the slave (i.e. the EDID ROM) ends the transfer. The bitbanging releases the data line for the ACK only 1/4 bit time after the falling clock edge, so a slave will see the correct value no matter if it samples at the rising or the falling clock edge or in the center. Fallback to bitbanging is already done for the CRT connector. 2018-02-01drm/i915/gvt: Do not use I915_NUM_ENGINES to iterate over the mocs regs arrayMichel Thierry
The mocs reg array is defined locally but then we iterate over its elements using I915_NUM_ENGINES. There is no 'hard' connection between I915_NUM_ENGINES and the regs array and there will be problems if either of them increases. Use the size of the mocs reg array instead to safely iterate over it. 2018-02-01drm/i915/gvt: validate gfn before set shadow page entryHang Yuan
GVT may receive partial write on one guest PTE update. Validate gfn not to translate incomplete gfn. This avoids some unnecessary error messages incurred by the incomplete gfn translating. Also fix the bug that the whole PPGTT shadow page update is aborted on any invalid gfn entry. gfn validation relys on hypervisor's help. Add one MPT module function to provide the function. 2018-02-01virtio_blk: print capacity at probe timeStefan Hajnoczi
Print the capacity of the block device when the driver is probed. Many users expect this since SCSI disks (sd) do it. Moreover, kernel dmesg output is the primary source of troubleshooting information so it's helpful to include the disk size there. The capacity is already printed by virtio_blk when a resize event occurs. Extract the code and reuse it from virtblk_probe(). 2018-02-01virtio: make VIRTIO a menuconfig to ease disabling it allVincent Legoll
No need to get into the submenu to disable all VIRTIO-related config entries. This makes it easier to disable all VIRTIO config options without entering the submenu. 2018-01-31mm, mmu_notifier: annotate mmu notifiers with blockable invalidate callbacksDavid Rientjes
Commit 4d4bbd8526a8 ("mm, oom_reaper: skip mm structs with mmu notifiers") prevented the oom reaper from unmapping private anonymous memory with the oom reaper when the oom victim mm had mmu notifiers registered. The rationale is that doing mmu_notifier_invalidate_range_{start,end}() around the unmap_page_range(), which is needed, can block and the oom killer will stall forever waiting for the victim to exit, which may not be possible without reaping. That concern is real, but only true for mmu notifiers that have blockable invalidate_range_{start,end}() callbacks. This patch adds a "flags" field to mmu notifier ops that can set a bit to indicate that these callbacks do not block. The implementation is steered toward an expensive slowpath, such as after the oom reaper has grabbed mm->mmap_sem of a still alive oom victim. 2018-01-31Input: goodix - use generic touchscreen_propertiesMarcin Niestroj
Use touchscreen_properties structure instead of implementing all properties by our own. It allows us to reuse generic code for parsing device-tree properties (which was implemented manually in the driver for now). Additionally, it allows us to report events using generic touchscreen_report_pos(), which automatically handles inverted and swapped axes. This fixes the issue with the custom code incorrectly handling case where ts->inverted_x and ts->swapped_x_y were true, but ts->inverted_y was false. Assuming we have 720x1280 touch panel, ts->abs_x_max == 1279 and ts->abs_y_max == 719 (because we inverted that in goodix_read_config()). Now let's assume that we received event from (0:0) position (in touch panel original coordinates). In function goodix_ts_report_touch() we calculate input_x as 1279, but after swapping input_y takes that value (which is more that maximum 719 value reported during initialization). Note that since touchscreen coordinates are 0-indexed, we now report touchscreen range as (0:size-1). Developed and tested on custom DT-based device with gt1151 touch panel.
