2010-08-05fbdev: section cleanup in viafb driverHenrik Kretzschmar
This patch moves two functions from .devexit to .text, which are called on the probe error path. Also a function which is called by probe is moved from .text to .devinit. WARNING: vmlinux.o(.devinit.text+0x2ca5): Section mismatch in reference from the function via_pci_probe() to the function devexit.text:via_teardown_subdevs() The function __devinit via_pci_probe() references a function __devexit via_teardown_subdevs(). This is often seen when error handling in the init function uses functionality in the exit path. The fix is often to remove the __devexit annotation of via_teardown_subdevs() so it may be used outside an exit section. WARNING: vmlinux.o(.devinit.text+0x2cb1): Section mismatch in reference from the function via_pci_probe() to the function devexit.text:via_pci_teardown_mmio() The function __devinit via_pci_probe() references a function __devexit via_pci_teardown_mmio(). 2010-08-05Driver core: Add BUS_NOTIFY_BIND_DRIVERMagnus Damm
Add BUS_NOTIFY_BIND_DRIVER as a bus notifier event. For driver binding/unbinding we with this in place have the following bus notifier events: - BUS_NOTIFY_BIND_DRIVER - before ->probe() - BUS_NOTIFY_BOUND_DRIVER - after ->probe() - BUS_NOTIFY_UNBIND_DRIVER - before ->remove() - BUS_NOTIFY_UNBOUND_DRIVER - after ->remove() The event BUS_NOTIFY_BIND_DRIVER allows bus code to be notified that ->probe() is about to be called. Useful for bus code that needs to setup hardware before the driver gets to run. With this in place platform drivers can be loaded and unloaded as modules and the new BIND event allows bus code to control for instance device clocks that must be enabled before the driver can be executed. Without this patch there is no way for the bus code to get notified that a modular driver is about to be probed. 2010-08-05isdn: fix information leakDan Carpenter
The main motivation of this patch changing strcpy() to strlcpy(). We strcpy() to copy a 48 byte buffers into a 49 byte buffers. So at best the last byte has leaked information, or maybe there is an overflow? Anyway, this patch closes the information leaks by zeroing the memory and the calls to strlcpy() prevent overflows. 2010-08-05libertas: scan before assocation if no BSSID was givenDan Williams
Fix this leftover TODO from the cfg80211 conversion by doing a scan if cfg80211 didn't pass in the BSSID for us. Since the scan code uses so much of the cfg80211_scan_request structure to build up the firmware command, we just fake one when the scan request is triggered internally. But we need to make sure that internal 'fake' cfg82011 scan request does not get back to cfg82011 via cfg80211_scan_done(). Signed-off-by: Dan Williams <dcbw@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: John W. 2010-08-05mtd: denali: update get nand para functionsChuanxiao Dong
In denali driver, wTotalBlocks variable is useless, so just remove them in get_toshiba_nand_para and get_hynix_nand_para first. Other wTotalBlocks in denali.c and other variables in dev_info struct are also useless, will remove them later. Also add a parameter in get_hynix_nand_para to prepare to remove dev_info struct. This parameter comes by reading NAND ID directly. Reading register will report wrong value for some NAND chips, e.g. some Micron MT29F32G08QAA chips. So update NAND_CMD_READID method as well. 2010-08-05mtd: Blackfin NFC: fix nand busy detectionBarry Song
The IRQSTAT register is a W1C register used by the interrupt handler and may have its BUSY bit changed. This makes it somewhat unreliable for the polling devready function. So switch it over to use the BUSY bit in the STAT register that always reflects the current state of the hardware. This fixes driver hangs seen when the NAND flash is under heavy system load (like I/O benchmarks).
