2021-10-28platform/surface: aggregator_registry: Add initial support for Surface Pro 8Maximilian Luz
Add preliminary support for the Surface Pro 8 to the Surface Aggregator registry. This includes battery/charger status and platform profile support. In contrast to earlier Surface Pro generations, the keyboard cover is now also connected via the Surface Aggregator Module (whereas it was previously connected via USB or HID-over-I2C). To properly support the HID devices of that cover, however, more changes regarding hot-removal of Surface Aggregator client devices as well as a new device hub driver are required. We will address those things in a follow-up series, so do not add any HID device IDs just yet. 2021-10-28iwlwifi: mvm: extend session protection on associationJohannes Berg
When we receive an association response, a significant amount of time might have passed since we sent the corresponding association request (mac80211 will wait up to 500ms for the TX and then 100ms for the response after ACK was received). But the time event is touched only when we send the assoc request, so it might not have much time remaining, more easily causing the (dreaded) No beacon heard and the session protection is over already... message. Refactor iwl_mvm_mac_mgd_prepare_tx() and split out a new function iwl_mvm_protect_assoc(), and call it on successful association to extend the time event to the minimum time if necessary. 2021-10-28iwlwifi: mvm: remove session protection on disassocJohannes Berg
If we somehow get disassociated while still waiting for a beacon during connection, we can end up printing the No beacon heard and the session protection is over already... message even if we aren't really quite waiting for it anymore. Remove the time event, if it's running, when we get disassociated and don't need to wait for beacons anymore. 2021-10-28iwlwifi: mvm: d3: use internal data representationJohannes Berg
Trying to convert from one firmware data representation to the next version is getting tedious and error-prone, and doesn't lend itself well to new APIs being added. Additionally, the version 11 of the API as defined in the driver doesn't even exist in the firmware. Instead of converting to a newer firmware version of the data, convert to an internal representation. This takes a bit more space because the TKIP/AES counters etc. must be kept twice, their representation is different and we don't know which of the ones it is until later, but this is just a temporary use of memory, and the code is clearer this way. We currently match the list of devices from the start to the end, but then find the *last* match, so we need to look at each and every entry. Add the missing endpoint max-packet sanity check to probe() to avoid division by zero in ath10k_usb_hif_tx_sg() in case a malicious device has broken descriptors (or when doing descriptor fuzz testing). Note that USB core will reject URBs submitted for endpoints with zero wMaxPacketSize but that drivers doing packet-size calculations still need to handle this (cf. commit 2548288b4fb0 ("USB: Fix: Don't skip endpoint descriptors with maxpacket=0")). 2021-10-28wcn36xx: Channel list update before hardware scanLoic Poulain
The channel scan list must be updated before triggering a hardware scan so that firmware takes into account the regulatory info for each single channel such as active/passive config, power, DFS, etc... Without this the firmware uses its own internal default channel configuration, which is not aligned with mac80211 regulatory rules, and misses several channels (e.g. 144). 2021-10-28drm: Add R10 and R12 FourCCLaurent Pinchart
Add FourCCs for 10- and 12-bit red formats with padding to 16 bits. They correspond to the V4L2 10- and 12-bit greyscale (V4L2_PIX_FMT_Y10 and V4L2_PIX_FMT_Y12) formats, as well as the Bayer formats with the same bit depth (V4L2_PIX_FMT_SBGGR{10,12} and all other Bayer pattern permutations). These formats are not used by any kernel driver at this point, but need to be exposed to applications by libcamera, which uses DRM FourCCs for pixel formats. TMP461 is almost identical to TMP451, which is already supported by the lm90 driver. At the same time, unlike other sensors from the TMP401 compatible series, it only supports 8-bit temperature read operations, and it supports negative temperatures when configured for its default temperature range, and it supports a temperature offset register. Supporting this chip in the tmp401 driver adds unnecessary complexity. Remove its support from this driver and support the chip with the lm90 driver instead. 2021-10-27hwmon: (lm90) Add basic support for TI TMP461Guenter Roeck
TMP461 is almost identical to TMP451 and was actually detected as TMP451 with the existing lm90 driver if its I2C address is 0x4c. Add support for it to the lm90 driver. At the same time, improve the chip detection function to at least try to distinguish between TMP451 and TMP461. As a side effect, this fixes commit 24333ac26d01 ("hwmon: (tmp401) use smb word operations instead of 2 smb byte operations"). TMP461 does not support word operations on temperature registers, which causes bad temperature readings with the tmp401 driver. The lm90 driver does not perform word operations on temperature registers and thus does not have this problem. Support is listed as basic because TMP461 supports a sensor resolution of 0.0625 degrees C, while the lm90 driver assumes a resolution of 0.125 degrees C. Also, the TMP461 supports negative temperatures with its default temperature range, which is not the case for similar chips supported by the lm90 and the tmp401 drivers. [WHY] On certain configs, SMU clock table voltages don't match which cause parser to behave incorrectly by leaving dcfclk and socclk table entries unpopulated. [HOW] Currently the function that finds the corresponding clock for a given voltage only checks for exact voltage level matches. In the case that no match gets found, parser now falls back to searching for the max clock which meets the requested voltage (i.e. its corresponding voltage is below requested). Commit 4d98bb0d7ec2 ("net: macb: Use mdio child node for MDIO bus if it exists") added code to detect if a 'mdio' child node exists to the macb driver. Ths added code does, however, not actually check if the child node exists, but if the parent node exists. This results in errors such as macb 10090000.ethernet eth0: Could not attach PHY (-19) if there is no 'mdio' child node. Fix the code to actually check for the child node.
