2018-06-21Input: xpad - fix GPD Win 2 controller nameEnno Boland
This fixes using the controller with SDL2. SDL2 has a naive algorithm to apply the correct settings to a controller. For X-Box compatible controllers it expects that the controller name contains a variation of a 'XBOX'-string. This patch changes the identifier to contain "X-Box" as substring. Tested with Steam and C-Dogs-SDL which both detect the controller properly after adding this patch. 2018-06-21Input: elan_i2c_smbus - fix more potential stack buffer overflowsBen Hutchings
Commit 40f7090bb1b4 ("Input: elan_i2c_smbus - fix corrupted stack") fixed most of the functions using i2c_smbus_read_block_data() to allocate a buffer with the maximum block size. However three functions were left unchanged: * In elan_smbus_initialize(), increase the buffer size in the same way. * In elan_smbus_calibrate_result(), the buffer is provided by the caller (calibrate_store()), so introduce a bounce buffer. Also name the result buffer size. * In elan_smbus_get_report(), the buffer is provided by the caller but happens to be the right length. Add a compile-time assertion to ensure this remains the case. The "sector is in requested range" test used to determine whether sectors should be re-locked or not is done on a variable that is reset everytime we cross a chip boundary, which can lead to some blocks being re-locked while the caller expect them to be unlocked. Fix the check to make sure this cannot happen. cfi_ppb_unlock() tries to relock all sectors that were locked before unlocking the whole chip. Positive return value from read_oob() is making false BAD blocks. For some of the NAND controllers, OOB bytes will be protected with ECC and read_oob() will return number of bitflips. If there is any bitflip in ECC protected OOB bytes for BAD block status page, then that block is getting treated as BAD. 2018-06-21nvme-pci: limit max IO size and segments to avoid high order allocationsJens Axboe
nvme requires an sg table allocation for each request. If the request is large, then the allocation can become quite large. For instance, with our default software settings of 1280KB IO size, we'll need 10248 bytes of sg table. That turns into a 2nd order allocation, which we can't always guarantee. If we fail the allocation, blk-mq will retry it later. But there's no guarantee that we'll EVER be able to allocate that much contigious memory. Limit the IO size such that we never need more than a single page of memory. That's a lot faster and more reliable. Then back that allocation with a mempool, so that we know we'll always be able to succeed the allocation at some point. 2018-06-21clk: sunxi-ng: replace lib-y with obj-yMasahiro Yamada
We had commit 06e226c7fb23 ("clk: sunxi-ng: Move all clock types to a library") and commit 799c43415442 ("kbuild: thin archives make default for all archs") in the same development cycle, from different trees. With migration to the thin archive, the entire drivers/clk/sunxi-ng/lib.a is linked to the vmlinux. This does not break build, but we do not get any size saving. However, we do not need to go back to the individual Kconfig options. The default configuration pulls in all (or most) of the CCU parts anyway. Also, once we enable CONFIG_LD_DEAD_CODE_DATA_ELIMINATION, we can simply list all files with obj-y, and the linker will drop all unused functions by itself. After the long discussion [1], people there agreed to fix this, but nobody sent a patch after all. I am doing it now. I lifted up CONFIG_SUNXI_CCU to drivers/clk/Makefile because everything in drivers/clk/sunxi-ng/ depends on SUNXI_CCU. To fix it, move the nvme_kill_queues from nvme_remove_dead_ctrl_work to nvme_remove_dead_ctrl. 2018-06-21drm/bridge/sii8620: fix display of packed pixel modes in MHL2Maciej Purski
Currently packed pixel modes in MHL2 can't be displayed. The device automatically recognizes output format, so setting format other than RGB causes failure. Fix it by writing proper values to registers. Tested on MHL1 and MHL2 using various vendors' dongles both in DVI and HDMI mode. 2018-06-21ipvlan: fix IFLA_MTU ignored on NEWLINKXin Long
Commit 296d48568042 ("ipvlan: inherit MTU from master device") adjusted the mtu from the master device when creating a ipvlan device, but it would also override the mtu value set in rtnl_create_link. It causes IFLA_MTU param not to take effect. So this patch is to not adjust the mtu if IFLA_MTU param is set when creating a ipvlan device. 2018-06-21net: mscc: fix the injection headerAntoine Tenart
When injecting frames in the Ocelot switch driver an injection header (IFH) should be used to configure various parameters related to a given frame, such as the port onto which the frame should be departed or its vlan id. Other parameters in the switch configuration can led to an injected frame being sent without an IFH but this led to various issues as the per-frame parameters are then not used. This is especially true when using multiple ports for injection. The IFH was injected with the wrong endianness which led to the switch not taking it into account as the IFH_INJ_BYPASS bit was then unset. (The bit tells the switch to use the IFH over its internal configuration). This patch fixes it. In addition to the endianness fix, the IFH is also fixed. As it was (unwillingly) unused, some of its fields were not configured the right way. 2018-06-20nvme-rdma: Fix command completion race at error recoveryIsrael Rukshin
The race is between completing the request at error recovery work and rdma completions. If we cancel the request before getting the good rdma completion we get a NULL deref of the request MR at nvme_rdma_process_nvme_rsp(). When Canceling the request we return its mr to the mr pool (set mr to NULL) and also unmap its data. Canceling the requests while the rdma queues are active is not safe. Because rdma queues are active and we get good rdma completions that can use the mr pointer which may be NULL. Completing the request too soon may lead also to performing DMA to/from user buffers which might have been already unmapped. The commit fixes the race by draining the QP before starting the abort commands mechanism. If nvme_rdma_configure_admin_queue fails before we allocated the async event buffer, we will falsly free it because nvme_rdma_free_queue is freeing it. Fix it by allocating the buffer right after nvme_rdma_alloc_queue and free it right before nvme_rdma_queue_free to maintain orderly reverse cleanup sequence. controller Failures after nvme_init_ctrl will defer resource cleanups to .free_ctrl when the reference is released, hence we should not free the controller queues for these failures. Fix that by moving controller queues allocation before controller initialization and correctly freeing them for failures before initialization and skip them for failures after initialization. The HID descriptor for the 2nd-gen Intuos Pro large (PTH-860) contains a typo which defines an incorrect logical maximum Y value. This causes a small portion of the bottom of the tablet to become unusable (both because the area is below the "bottom" of the tablet and because 'wacom_wac_event' ignores out-of-range values). It also results in a skewed aspect ratio. To fix this, we add a quirk to 'wacom_usage_mapping' which overwrites the data with the correct value. 2018-06-20HID: intel_ish-hid: ipc: register more pm callbacks to support hibernationEven Xu
Current ISH driver only registers suspend/resume PM callbacks which don't support hibernation (suspend to disk). Basically after hiberation, the ISH can't resume properly and user may not see sensor events (for example: screen rotation may not work). User will not see a crash or panic or anything except the following message in log: hid-sensor-hub 001F:8086:22D8.0001: timeout waiting for response from ISHTP device So this patch adds support for S4/hiberbation to ISH by using the SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS() MACRO instead of struct dev_pm_ops directly. The suspend and resume functions will now be used for both suspend to RAM and hibernation. If power management is disabled, SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS will do nothing, the suspend and resume related functions won't be used, so mark them as __maybe_unused to clarify that this is the intended behavior, and remove #ifdefs for power management. 2018-06-20HID: steam: use hid_device.driver_data instead of hid_set_drvdata()Rodrigo Rivas Costa
When creating the low-level hidraw device, the reference to steam_device was stored using hid_set_drvdata(). But this value is not guaranteed to be kept when set before calling probe. If this pointer is reset, it crashes when opening the emulated hidraw device. It looks like hid_set_drvdata() is for users "avobe" this hid_device, while hid_device.driver_data it for users "below" this one. In this case, we are creating a virtual hidraw device, so we must use hid_device.driver_data.
