2013-02-16drm/omap: Add PM capabilitiesAndy Gross
Added power management capabilities into the omapdrm and DMM drivers. During suspend, we don't need to do anything to maintain the state of the LUT. We have all the necessary information to recreate the mappings of the GEM object list maintained by the omapdrm driver. On resume, the DMM resume handler will first reprogram the LUT to point to the dummy page. The subsequent resume handler in the omapdrm will call into the DMM and reprogram each of the buffer objects. This will ensure that all of the necessary objects will be pinned into the DMM properly. Order of suspend/resume handlers is done by device creation. We create the DMM device before the omapdrm, so the correct order is maintained. 2013-02-16generic-adc-battery: Fix forever loop in gab_remove()Dan Carpenter
There is a forever loop calling iio_channel_release() because the "chan < " part of the "chan < ARRAY_SIZE()" is missing. This is in both the error handling on probe and also in the remove function. The other thing is that it's possible for some of the elements of the adc_bat->channel[chan] array to be an ERR_PTR(). I've changed them to be NULL instead. We're still not allowed to pass NULLs to iio_channel_release() so I've added a check. Finally, I removed an unused "chan = ARRAY_SIZE(gab_chan_name);" statement as a small cleanup. 2013-02-16PCI/ACPI: Don't cache _PRT, and don't associate them with bus numbersYinghai Lu
Previously, we cached _PRT (PCI routing table, ACPI 5.0 sec 6.2.12) contents and associated each _PRT entry with a PCI bus number. The bus number association means dependencies on PCI device enumeration and bus number assignment, as well as on the PCI/ACPI binding process. After 4f535093cf ("PCI: Put pci_dev in device tree as early as possible"), these dependencies caused the IRQ issues reported by Peter: pci 0000:00:1e.0: PCI bridge to [bus 09] (subtractive decode) pci 0000:00:1e.0: can't derive routing for PCI INT A snd_ctxfi 0000:09:02.0: PCI INT A: no GSI - using ISA IRQ 5 irq 18: nobody cared (try booting with the "irqpoll" option) This patch removes _PRT caching. Instead, we evaluate _PRT as needed in the pci_enable_device() path. This also removes the dependency on PCI bus numbers: we can simply look at the _PRT associated with each bridge as we walk upstream toward the root. 2013-02-15ixgbe: Update DESC_NEEDED define to adjust for changes to MAX_SKB_FRAGSAlexander Duyck
Recent changes have made it so that MAX_SKB_FRAGS is now never less than 16. As a result we were seeing issues on systems with 64K pages as it would cause DESC_NEEDED to increase to 68, and we would need over 136 descriptors free before clean_tx_irq would wake the queue. This patch makes it so that DESC_NEEDED is always MAX_SKB_FRAGS + 4. This should prevent any possible deadlocks on the systems with 64K pages as we will now only require 42 descriptors to wake. The main result of this change is that ixgbe can now fully support XPS, and in the case of non-FCoE enabled configs it means we don't need to have our own ndo_select_queue. 2013-02-15ixgbe: Define FCoE and Flow director limits much sooner to allow for changesAlexander Duyck
Instead of adjusting the FCoE and Flow director limits based on the number of CPUs we can define them much sooner. This allows the user to come through later and adjust them once we have updated the code to support the set_channels ethtool operation. I am still allowing for FCoE and RSS queues to be separated if the number queues is less than the number of CPUs. This essentially treats the two groupings like they are two separate traffic classes. In addition I am changing the initialization to use the MAX_TX/RX_QUEUES defines instead of trying to compute the value as it will be possible in upcoming patches for the user to request the maximum number of queues. I have also updated things so that the upper limit on queues is exactly 63 instead of allowing it to go up to 64. The reason for this change is to address the fact thqt the driver only supports up to 63 queue vectors since the hardware supports 64 MSI-X vectors, but one must be reserved for "other" causes. 2013-02-15igb: increase timeout for ethtool offline self-testStefan Assmann
On several machines with i350 adapters the ethtool offline self-test sometimes fails. This happens because link auto negotiation may take longer than the timeout of 4 seconds. Increasing the timeout by 1 seconds resolves the issue. 2013-02-15igbvf: Make next_to_watch a pointer and adjust memory barriers to avoid racesAlexander Duyck
This change is meant to address several race issues that become possible because next_to_watch could possibly be set to a value that shows that the descriptor is done when it is not. In order to correct that we instead make next_to_watch a pointer that is set to NULL during cleanup, and set to the eop_desc after the descriptor rings have been written. To enforce proper ordering the next_to_watch pointer is not set until after a wmb writing the values to the last descriptor in a transmit. In order to guarantee that the descriptor is not read until after the eop_desc we use the read_barrier_depends which is only really necessary on the alpha architecture. 2013-02-15e1000e: display a warning message when SmartSpeed worksKoki Sanagi
Current e1000e driver doesn't tell nothing when Link Speed is downgraded due to SmartSpeed. As a result, users suspect that there is something wrong with NIC. 2013-02-15Input: bma150 - fix checking pm_runtime_get_sync() return valueMichael Trimarchi
When PM_RUNTIME is not defined, pm_runtime_get_sync() returns 1, see include/linux/pm_runtime.c::__pm_runtime_resume(), and the check of the return value was overlooking this, in this case bma150_open() would return 1 which is not expected by upper layers. Maybe the check for != -ENOSYS (Function not implemented) was meant to cover this, but pm_runtime_get_sync() does not return this value. For now fix the issue locally by checking explicitly for negative return values. We have to decrement "i" before calling mlx4_ib_free_demux_ctx() or we free something that wasn't allocated. That's fine for free_pv_object() but it would lead to a NULL dereference calling mlx4_ib_free_demux_ctx(). With the multiplatform changes in arm-soc tree, it becomes possible to enable the mvebu platform (which uses ehci-orion) at the same time as other platforms that require a conflicting EHCI bus glue. At the moment, this results in a warning like drivers/usb/host/ehci-hcd.c:1297:0: warning: "PLATFORM_DRIVER" redefined [enabled by default] drivers/usb/host/ehci-hcd.c:1277:0: note: this is the location of the previous definition drivers/usb/host/ehci-orion.c:334:31: warning: 'ehci_orion_driver' defined but not used [-Wunused-variable] and an ehci driver that only works on one of them. With the infrastructure added by Alan Stern in patch 3e0232039 "USB: EHCI: prepare to make ehci-hcd a library module", we can avoid this problem by turning a bus glue into a separate module, as we do here for the orion bus glue. 2013-02-15cpufreq / intel_pstate: Add kernel command line option disable intel_pstate.Dirk Brandewie
When intel_pstate is configured into the kernel it will become the preferred scaling driver for processors that it supports. 2013-02-15cpufreq / intel_pstate: Change to disallow module buildDirk Brandewie
Load order is important in order for intel_pstate to take over as the default scaling driver from acpi-cpufreq. If both are built-in, acpi-cpufreq uses late_initcall() and intel_pstate uses device_initcall() so it will be able to register as the scaling before acpi-cpufreq for the processors supported by intel_pstate. If acpi-cpufreq is built as a module then intel_pstate still gets first option to become the scaling driver.
