2023-08-17md/raid1: hold the barrier until handle_read_error() finishesXueshi Hu
handle_read_error() will call allow_barrier() to match the former barrier raising. However, it should put the allow_barrier() at the end to avoid a concurrent raid reshape. Fixes: 689389a06ce7 ("md/raid1: simplify handle_read_error().") 2023-08-17md/raid1: free the r1bio before waiting for blocked rdevXueshi Hu
Raid1 reshape will change mempool and r1conf::raid_disks which are needed to free r1bio. allow_barrier() make a concurrent raid1_reshape() possible. So, free the in-flight r1bio before waiting blocked rdev. 2023-08-17md/raid1: call free_r1bio() before allow_barrier() in raid_end_bio_io()Xueshi Hu
After allow_barrier, a concurrent raid1_reshape() will replace old mempool and r1conf::raid_disks. Move allow_barrier() to the end of raid_end_bio_io(), so that r1bio can be freed safely. 2023-08-17clk: qcom: smd-rpm: Set XO rate and CLK_IS_CRITICAL on PCNoCKonrad Dybcio
On all supported SoCs to date, the PCNoC (a.k.a CNoC_PERIPH) clock must be always-on as long as the APSS is online and only has to run at 19.2 MHz. Define it to be as such in the ACTIVE domain. Some SoCs use that clock for bus scaling, while others just need it for reaching the hardware. This commit will hurt neither. 2023-08-17clk: qcom: smd-rpm: Add a way to define bus clocks with rate and flagsKonrad Dybcio
Some clocks, at least PCNoC (a.k.a CNoC_PERIPH) need to be always on, at least on the ACTIVE side, regardless of whether they're used for bus scaling or not. 2023-08-17netconsole: Enable compile time configurationBreno Leitao
Enable netconsole features to be set at compilation time. Create two Kconfig options that allow users to set extended logs and release prepending features at compilation time. Right now, the user needs to pass command line parameters to netconsole, such as "+"/"r" to enable extended logs and version prepending features. With these two options, the user could set the default values for the features at compile time, and don't need to pass it in the command line to get them enabled, simplifying the command line. 2023-08-17ice: move E810T functions to before device agnostic onesJacob Keller
Commit 885fe6932a11 ("ice: Add support for SMA control multiplexer") accidentally placed all of the E810T SMA control functions in the middle of the device agnostic functions section of ice_ptp_hw.c This works fine, but makes it harder for readers to follow. The ice_ptp_hw.c file is laid out such that each hardware family has the specific functions in one block, with the access functions placed at the end of the file. Move the E810T functions so that they are in a block just after the E810 functions. Also move the ice_get_phy_tx_tstamp_ready_e810 which got added at the end of the E810T block. This keeps the functions laid out in a logical order and avoids intermixing the generic access functions with the device specific implementations. 2023-08-18drm/qxl: fix UAF on handle creationWander Lairson Costa
qxl_mode_dumb_create() dereferences the qobj returned by qxl_gem_object_create_with_handle(), but the handle is the only one holding a reference to it. 2023-08-17tpm_tis_spi: Add hardware wait pollingKrishna Yarlagadda
TPM devices may insert wait state on last clock cycle of ADDR phase. For SPI controllers that support full-duplex transfers, this can be detected using software by reading the MISO line. For SPI controllers that only support half-duplex transfers, such as the Tegra QSPI, it is not possible to detect the wait signal from software. The QSPI controller in Tegra234 and Tegra241 implement hardware detection of the wait signal which can be enabled in the controller for TPM devices. The current TPM TIS driver only supports software detection of the wait signal. To support SPI controllers that use hardware to detect the wait signal, add the function tpm_tis_spi_transfer_half() and move the existing code for software based detection into a function called tpm_tis_spi_transfer_full(). SPI controllers that only support half-duplex transfers will always call tpm_tis_spi_transfer_half() because they cannot support software based detection. The bit SPI_TPM_HW_FLOW is set to indicate to the SPI controller that hardware detection is required and it is the responsibility of the SPI controller driver to determine if this is supported or not. For hardware flow control, CMD-ADDR-DATA messages are combined into a single message where as for software flow control exiting method of CMD-ADDR in a message and DATA in another is followed. 2023-08-17qede: fix firmware halt over suspend and resumeManish Chopra
While performing certain power-off sequences, PCI drivers are called to suspend and resume their underlying devices through PCI PM (power management) interface. However this NIC hardware does not support PCI PM suspend/resume operations so system wide suspend/resume leads to bad MFW (management firmware) state which causes various follow-up errors in driver when communicating with the device/firmware afterwards. To fix this driver implements PCI PM suspend handler to indicate unsupported operation to the PCI subsystem explicitly, thus avoiding system to go into suspended/standby mode. Without this fix device/firmware does not recover unless system is power cycled. 2023-08-17vfio: align capability structuresStefan Hajnoczi
The VFIO_DEVICE_GET_INFO, VFIO_DEVICE_GET_REGION_INFO, and VFIO_IOMMU_GET_INFO ioctls fill in an info struct followed by capability structs: +------+---------+---------+-----+ | info | caps[0] | caps[1] | ... | +------+---------+---------+-----+ Both the info and capability struct sizes are not always multiples of sizeof(u64), leaving u64 fields in later capability structs misaligned. Userspace applications currently need to handle misalignment manually in order to support CPU architectures and programming languages with strict alignment requirements. Make life easier for userspace by ensuring alignment in the kernel. This is done by padding info struct definitions and by copying out zeroes after capability structs that are not aligned. The new layout is as follows: +------+---------+---+---------+-----+ | info | caps[0] | 0 | caps[1] | ... | +------+---------+---+---------+-----+ In this example caps[0] has a size that is not multiples of sizeof(u64), so zero padding is added to align the subsequent structure. Adding zero padding between structs does not break the uapi. The memory layout is specified by the info.cap_offset and caps[i].next fields filled in by the kernel. Applications use these field values to locate structs and are therefore unaffected by the addition of zero padding. Note that code that copies out info structs with padding is updated to always zero the struct and copy out as many bytes as userspace requested. This makes the code shorter and avoids potential information leaks by ensuring padding is initialized.
