The port lock is not always held when calling serial8250_clear_IER().
When an oops is in progress, the lock is tried to be taken and when it
is not, a warning is issued:

Therefore, remove the annotation as it doesn't hold for all invocations.
The other option would be to make the lockdep test conditional on
'oops_in_progress' or pass 'locked' from serial8250_console_write(). I
don't think, that is worth it.

Unlike default access to config space through sysfs, the VPD read and write
functions don't actively manage the runtime power management state of the
device during access. Since commit 7ab5e10eda02 ("vfio/pci: Move the
unused device into low power state with runtime PM"), the vfio-pci driver
will use runtime power management and release unused devices to make use of
low power states. Attempting to access VPD information in D3cold can
result in incorrect information or kernel crashes depending on the system
behavior.
Wrap the VPD read/write bin attribute handlers in runtime PM and take into
account the potential quirk to select the correct device to wake.

In commit 9b9c8195f3f0 ("tty: n_gsm: fix UAF in gsm_cleanup_mux"), the UAF
problem is not completely fixed. There is a race condition in
gsm_cleanup_mux(), which caused this UAF.
The UAF problem is triggered by the following race:

len and remain can never be negative in gdm_tty_write(). So remove such
a check and move the check of remaining bytes to the loop condition.
This way, the preceding 'if' is now superfluous too. Fix all that and
make the code cleaner.

There is no need for two more variables in hso_serial_write(). Switch to
min_t() and eliminate those.
Furthermore, the 'if-goto' is superfluous as memcpy() of zero count is a
nop. So is addition of zero. So remove the 'if-goto' completely.

ld->ops->read() returns ssize_t. copy_to_iter() returns size_t. So
switch the variables ('size' and 'copied', respectively) to the
corresponding types.
This allows for use of min() in the next patch.

tty_read() is supposed to return ssize_t. It takes the return value from
iterate_tty_read(). That currently returns int. On the top of that,
iterate_tty_write() already returns ssize_t. So switch
iterate_tty_read() to ssize_t too, so that all three are consistent.
This means 'i' in tty_read() changes its type too. And while changing
that, rename this generic 'i' to more dedicated 'ret'.

Make do_tty_write()'s name sound similar to iterate_tty_read(). They
both do similar things, so there is no reason for so distinct names. The
new name is therefore iterate_tty_write().
Drop the unnedeed inline modifier too. Let the compiler decide.

write() passed to do_tty_write() is always ld->ops->write(). Instead,
align with iterate_tty_read() and pass the whole ld instead. This makes
the code easier to follow as it is clear what the write is. And also the
function signature is more readable.

Count passed to tty_ldisc_ops::receive_buf*(), ::lookahead_buf(), and
returned from ::receive_buf2() is expected to be size_t. So set it to
size_t to unify with the rest of the code.

The 'count' is going to be unsigned and the 'count >= 0' test would be
always true then. Move the condition to the loop where this is easier to
check.
It looks as is easier to follow after all too.

It comes from both paste_selection() and tty_port_default_receive_buf()
as unsigned (int and size_t respectively). Switch to size_t to converge
to that eventually.
Return the count as size_t too (the two callers above expect that).
Switch paste_selection()'s type of 'count' too, so that the returned and
passed type match.

'size_t' is what receive_buf() expects and returns while handling count.
So switch to 'size_t'.
This renders both local 'count' and 'rcvd' in flush_to_ldisc() to be
size_t too.

The counts in tty_port_client_operations hooks' are currently
represented by all 'int', 'unsigned int', and 'size_t'. Unify them all
to unsigned 'size_t' for clarity. Note that size_t is used already in
tty_buffer.c. So, eventually, it is spread for counts everywhere and
this is the beginning.
So the two changes namely:
* ::receive_buf() is called from tty_ldisc_receive_buf(). And that
expects values ">= 0" from ::receive_buf(), so switch its rettype to
size_t is fine. tty_ldisc_receive_buf() types will be changed
separately.
* ::lookahead_buf()'s count comes from lookahead_bufs() and is already
'unsigned int'.

Only tty_ldisc_ops::read() and ::write() of n_null behave differently than
the default ldops implementations. They return %EOPNOTSUPP instead of
%EIO. So keep only those two and remove the rest ldops as they are
superfluous.

btusb_recv_event_intel is specific to Intel controllers therefore it

Add support for the Bluetooth chip codenamed APACHE which is part of
WCN3988.
The firmware for this chip has a slightly different naming scheme
compared to most others. For ROM Version 0x0200 we need to use
apbtfw10.tlv + apnv10.bin and for ROM version 0x201 apbtfw11.tlv +
apnv11.bin

This adds support for NXP AW693 chipset in btnxpuart driver
by adding FW name and bootloader signature. Based on the
loader version bits 7:6 of the bootloader signature, the
driver can choose between selecting secure and non-secure
FW files.

The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate
of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus.
As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they
"temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h
and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include
files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and
replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to
explicitly include the correct includes.

The BCM43430A1 has a default MAC address of AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AA.
Although, unlike some other entries, this does not include the
chip name, it is clearly not a real address. This was found in
AzureWave AW-NB197SM and AW-NM372SM modules.

This patch adds code to check HCI_UART_PROTO_READY flag before
accessing hci_uart->proto. It fixes the race condition in
hci_uart_tty_ioctl() between HCIUARTSETPROTO and HCIUARTGETPROTO.
This issue bug found by Yu Hao and Weiteng Chen:
