2020-10-01media: platform: s5p-mfc: Fix adding a standard frame skip mode controlMarek Szyprowski
Add proper control type to the recently introduced V4L2_CID_MPEG_VIDEO_FRAME_SKIP_MODE control. This will forward it to v4l2_ctrl_new_std_menu() not v4l2_ctrl_new_std(), what causes the failure. 2020-10-01media: vidtv: fix decoding with gstreamer and VlcMauro Carvalho Chehab
Neither Vlc nor Gstreamer likes the PES_scrambling_control bits. In the case of GST, this can be seen with: $ GST_DEBUG=2 LANG=C gst-play-1.0 pcm_audio.ts ... 0:00:00.097973439 12308 0x55f7ddd155e0 WARN pesparser pesparse.c:411:mpegts_parse_pes_header: Wrong '0x10' marker before PES_scrambling_control (0x40) 0:00:00.097987026 12308 0x55f7ddd155e0 WARN tsdemux tsdemux.c:2314:gst_ts_demux_parse_pes_header: Error parsing PES header. pid: 0x111 stream_type: 0x6 ... 2020-10-01media: vidtv: cleanup SDT string identifiersMauro Carvalho Chehab
In order to better test userspace applications, add an encoding for the strings. The original channel string is also too big. As we're just playing the first compasses of the 5th Beethoven Symphony, change the service name to just "Beethoven". Also, add a provider's name. For such purpose, let's point it to the Linux media community website. With such changes, the SDT table now looks more like one got from a real digital TV channel: SDT | table_id 0x42 | section_length 44 | one 2 | zero 1 | syntax 1 | transport_stream_id 1860 | current_next 1 | version 0 | one2 3 | section_number 0 | last_section_number 0 | network_id 65281 | reserved 255 |\ |- service 0x0880 | EIT schedule 0 | EIT present following 0 | free CA mode 0 | running status 4 | descriptor length 27 | 0x48: service_descriptor | service type 1 | provider 'LinuxTV.org' | name 'Beethoven' |_ 1 services Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2020-10-01media: vidtv: cleanup PSI version numbersMauro Carvalho Chehab
There's no reason to use static vars to store PSI version numbers. Also, currently, version numbers are starting with 0x01, because there's a code being called that increases it to 1 for all table initializer code, as the code may support dynamic changes at the PS tables on some future. 2020-09-30octeontx2-pf: Fix synchnorization issue in mboxHariprasad Kelam
Mbox implementation in octeontx2 driver has three states alloc, send and reset in mbox response. VF allocate and sends message to PF for processing, PF ACKs them back and reset the mbox memory. In some case we see synchronization issue where after msgs_acked is incremented and before mbox_reset API is called, if current execution is scheduled out and a different thread is scheduled in which checks for msgs_acked. Since the new thread sees msgs_acked == msgs_sent it will try to allocate a new message and to send a new mbox message to PF.Now if mbox_reset is scheduled in, PF will see '0' in msgs_send. This patch fixes the issue by calling mbox_reset before incrementing msgs_acked flag for last processing message and checks for valid message size. 2020-09-30ice: preserve NVM capabilities in safe modeJacob Keller
If the driver initializes in safe mode, it will call ice_set_safe_mode_caps. This results in clearing the capabilities structures, in order to set them up for operating in safe mode, ensuring many features are disabled. This has a side effect of also clearing the capability bits that relate to NVM update. The result is that the device driver will not indicate support for unified update, even if the firmware is capable. Fix this by adding the relevant capability fields to the list of values we preserve. To simplify the code, use a common_cap structure instead of a handful of local variables. To reduce some duplication of the capability name, introduce a couple of macros used to restore the capabilities values from the cached copy. 2020-09-30ice: increase maximum wait time for flash write commandsJacob Keller
The ice driver needs to wait for a firmware response to each command to write a block of data to the scratch area used to update the device firmware. The driver currently waits for up to 1 second for this to be returned. It turns out that firmware might take longer than 1 second to return a completion in some cases. If this happens, the flash update will fail to complete. Fix this by increasing the maximum time that the driver will wait for both writing a block of data, and for activating the new NVM bank. The timeout for an erase command is already several minutes, as the firmware had to erase the entire bank which was already expected to take a minute or more in the worst case. In the case where firmware really won't respond, we will now take longer to fail. However, this ensures that if the firmware is simply slow to respond, the flash update can still complete. This new maximum timeout should not adversely increase the update time, as the implementation for wait_event_interruptible_timeout, and should wake very soon after we get a completion event. It is better for a flash update be slow but still succeed than to fail because we gave up too quickly. 2020-09-30Partially revert "video: fbdev: amba-clcd: Retire elder CLCD driver"Peter Collingbourne
Also partially revert the follow-up change "drm: pl111: Absorb the external register header". This reverts the parts of commits 7e4e589db76a3cf4c1f534eb5a09cc6422766b93 and 0fb8125635e8eb5483fb095f98dcf0651206a7b8 that touch paths outside of drivers/gpu/drm/pl111. The fbdev driver is used by Android's FVP configuration. Using the DRM driver together with DRM's fbdev emulation results in a failure to boot Android. The root cause is that Android's generic fbdev userspace driver relies on the ability to set the pixel format via FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO, which is not supported by fbdev emulation. There have been other less critical behavioral differences identified between the fbdev driver and the DRM driver with fbdev emulation. The DRM driver exposes different values for the panel's width, height and refresh rate, and the DRM driver fails a FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO syscall with yres_virtual greater than the maximum supported value instead of letting the syscall succeed and setting yres_virtual based on yres. 2020-09-30gpiolib: cdev: support setting debounceKent Gibson
Add support for setting debounce on a line via the GPIO uAPI. Where debounce is not supported by hardware, a software debounce is provided. The implementation of the software debouncer waits for the line to be stable for the debounce period before determining if a level change, and a corresponding edge event, has occurred. This provides maximum protection against glitches, but also introduces a debounce_period latency to edge events. The software debouncer is integrated with the edge detection as it utilises the line interrupt, and integration is simpler than getting the two to interwork. Where software debounce AND edge detection is required, the debouncer provides both. Signed-off-by: Kent Gibson <warthog618@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Bartosz Golaszewski <bgolaszewski@baylibre.com>

GPIO_V2_GET_LINEINFO_WATCH_IOCTL Add support for GPIO_V2_GET_LINEINFO_IOCTL and GPIO_V2_GET_LINEINFO_WATCH_IOCTL. The core of this change is the event kfifo switching to contain struct gpioline_info_changed_v2, instead of v1 as v2 is richer. The two uAPI versions are mostly independent - other than where they both provide line info changes via reads on the chip fd. As the info change structs differ between v1 and v2, the infowatch implementation tracks which version of the infowatch ioctl, either GPIO_GET_LINEINFO_WATCH_IOCTL or GPIO_V2_GET_LINEINFO_WATCH_IOCTL, initiates the initial watch and returns the corresponding info change struct to the read. The version supported on that fd locks to that version on the first watch request, so subsequent watches from that process must use the same uAPI version. Let's pass the chip label to the driver using device properties as we'll want to allow users to define their own once dynamically created chips are supported. The property is renamed to "chip-label" to not cause any confusion with the actual chip name which is of the form: "gpiochipX". If the "chip-label" property is missing, let's do what most devices in drivers/gpio/ do and use dev_name(). 2020-09-30gpio: mockup: increase the number of supported device propertiesBartosz Golaszewski
The driver actually supports 4 properties but we only ever set up up to three. This will change however in upcoming patches so increase the number of really (as in: the number the property array can hold) supported properties to 4. 2020-09-30gpio: mockup: remove unneeded return statementBartosz Golaszewski
There's a return; at the end of a void function. This is not needed so remove it. Signed-off-by: Bartosz Golaszewski <bgolaszewski@baylibre.com> Reviewed-by: Andy Shevchenko <andriy.shevchenko@linux.intel.com>
