2023-12-12arm: perf: Convert remaining fields to use GENMASKJames Clark
Convert the remaining fields to use either GENMASK or be built from other fields. These all already started at bit 0 so don't need a code change for the lack of _SHIFT. 2023-12-12arm: perf: Remove inlines from arm_pmuv3.cJames Clark
These are all static and in one compilation unit so the inline has no effect on the binary. 2023-12-12wifi: iwlwifi: remove async command callbackJohannes Berg
There's only one user of this code, which is STA unblock during sleep for uAPSD on really old devices. Instead of having this all through the API with calls up and down, just implemented a special-case CMD_BLOCK_TXQS flag for this, it's only needed in the old gen1 transport. While at it, fix a complain that lockdep would have, as we lock the cmd queue and then the TXQs in the reclaim by using spin_lock_nested(). We no longer need to disable BHs in iwl_trans_pcie_block_txq_ptrs() since it's called with them disabled already. 2023-12-12wifi: iwlwifi: refactor RX tracingJohannes Berg
When there's not going to be any data in the data event, we don't need to add it at all (unlike the TX version, it has no data at all.) Also combine the tracing into a separate inline so we only call iwl_rx_trace_len() once, which also simplifies things, and lets us have a single place to later add other checks. 2023-12-11intel_idle: Add Meteorlake supportZhang Rui
Add intel_idle support for MeteorLake. C1 and C1E states on Meteorlake are mutually exclusive, like Alderlake and Raptorlake, but they have little latency difference with measureable power difference, so always enable "C1E promotion" bit and expose C1E only. Expose C6 because it has less power compared with C1E, and smaller latency compared with C8/C10. Ignore C8 and expose C10, because C8 does not show latency advantage compared with C10. 2023-12-11thermal: core: Make thermal_zone_device_unregister() return after freeing ↵Rafael J. Wysocki
the zone Make thermal_zone_device_unregister() wait until all of the references to the given thermal zone object have been dropped and free it before returning. This guarantees that when thermal_zone_device_unregister() returns, there is no leftover activity regarding the thermal zone in question which is required by some of its callers (for instance, modular driver code that wants to know when it is safe to let the module go away). Subsequently, this will allow some confusing device_is_registered() checks to be dropped from the thermal sysfs and core code. Signed-off-by: Rafael J. River reports boot hangs with v6.6 and v6.7, and the bisect points to commit a1b87d54f4e4 ("x86/efistub: Avoid legacy decompressor when doing EFI boot") which moves the memory allocation and kernel decompression from the legacy decompressor (which executes *after* ExitBootServices()) to the EFI stub, using boot services for allocating the memory. The memory allocation succeeds but the subsequent call to decompress_kernel() never returns, resulting in a failed boot and a hanging system. As it turns out, this issue only occurs when physical address randomization (KASLR) is enabled, and given that this is a feature we can live without (virtual KASLR is much more important), let's disable the physical part of KASLR when booting on AMI UEFI firmware claiming to implement revision v2.0 of the specification (which was released in 2006), as this is the version these systems advertise. 2023-12-11dmaengine: fsl-edma: fix DMA channel leak in eDMAv4Frank Li
Allocate channel count consistently increases due to a missing source ID (srcid) cleanup in the fsl_edma_free_chan_resources() function at imx93 eDMAv4. Reset 'srcid' at fsl_edma_free_chan_resources(). 2023-12-11drm/mediatek: Fix access violation in mtk_drm_crtc_dma_dev_getStuart Lee
Add error handling to check NULL input in mtk_drm_crtc_dma_dev_get function. While display path is not configured correctly, none of crtc is established. So the caller of mtk_drm_crtc_dma_dev_get may pass input parameter *crtc as NULL, Which may cause coredump when we try to get the container of NULL pointer.
