There's a functional change for HDMI VSDB blocks that do not respect the spec: "I_Latency_Fields_Present shall be zero if Latency_Fields_Present is zero". We assume this to hold when skipping the latency fields, and ignore non-zero I_Latency_Fields_Present if Latency_Fields_Present is zero. 2023-01-19drm/edid: refactor CTA Y420CMDB parsingJani Nikula
Now that we have pre-parsed CTA VDB VICs stored in info->vics, leverage that to simplify CTA Y420CMDB parsing. Move updating the y420_cmdb_modes bitmap to the display info parsing stage, instead of updating it during add modes. This allows us to drop the intermediate y420_cmdb_map from display info, and replace it with a local variable. This is prerequisite work for overall better separation of the two parsing steps (updating display info and adding modes). 2023-01-19drm/edid: use VIC in AVI infoframe if sink lists it in CTA VDBJani Nikula
Apparently there are HDMI 1.4 compatible displays out there that support VICs from specs later than CTA-861-D, i.e. VIC > 64, although HDMI 1.4 references CTA-861-D only. We try to avoid using VICs from the later specs in the AVI infoframes to avoid upsetting sinks that conform to earlier specs. However, it seems reasonable to do this when the sink claims it supports the VIC. With the pre-parsed list of VICs handy, this is now trivial. Now that we have all the VICs in info->vics, use them to simplify access based on VIC index, i.e. on the order of VICs in the EDID, and avoid passing CTA VDB pointers around. This also fixes the highly unlikely scenarios of a) multiple HDMI VSDBs, and b) HDMI VSDB 3D modes using VIC indexes that span across multiple CTA VDBs, and the combination of the two. A number of places need access to the VICs. Just parse them early for easy access. Gracefully handle multiple CTA VDBs. It's unlikely to have more than one, but the CTA-861 references "Video Data Block(s)", so err on the safe side. Start parsing them now, convert users in follow-up to have fewer moving parts in one go. 2023-01-19drm/edid: fix parsing of 3D modes from HDMI VSDBJani Nikula
Commit 537d9ed2f6c1 ("drm/edid: convert add_cea_modes() to use cea db iter") inadvertently moved the do_hdmi_vsdb_modes() call within the db iteration loop, always passing NULL as the CTA VDB to do_hdmi_vsdb_modes(), skipping a lot of stereo modes. Move the call back outside of the loop. This does mean only one CTA VDB and HDMI VSDB combination will be handled, but it's an unlikely scenario to have more than one of either block, and it was not accounted for before the regression either. 2023-01-19drm/edid: fix AVI infoframe aspect ratio handlingJani Nikula
We try to avoid sending VICs defined in the later specs in AVI infoframes to sinks that conform to the earlier specs, to not upset them, and use 0 for the VIC instead. However, we do this detection and conversion to 0 too early, as we'll need the actual VIC to figure out the aspect ratio. In particular, for a mode with 64:27 aspect ratio, 0 for VIC fails the AVI infoframe generation altogether with -EINVAL. Separate the VIC lookup from the "filtering", and postpone the filtering, to use the proper VIC for aspect ratio handling, and the 0 VIC for the infoframe video code as needed. 2023-01-19nvme-pci: fix timeout request state checkKeith Busch
Polling the completion can progress the request state to IDLE, either inline with the completion, or through softirq. Either way, the state may not be COMPLETED, so don't check for that. We only care if the state isn't IN_FLIGHT. This is fixing an issue where the driver aborts an IO that we just completed. Seeing the "aborting" message instead of "polled" is very misleading as to where the timeout problem resides. 2023-01-19nvme-apple: reset controller during shutdownJanne Grunau
This is a functional revert of c76b8308e4c9 ("nvme-apple: fix controller shutdown in apple_nvme_disable"). The commit broke suspend/resume since apple_nvme_reset_work() tries to disable the controller on resume. This does not work for the apple NVMe controller since register access only works while the co-processor firmware is running. Disabling the NVMe controller in the shutdown path is also required for shutting the co-processor down. The original code was appropriate for this hardware. Add a comment to prevent a similar breaking changes in the future. The MIPI DCS specification demands that brightness values are sent in big endian byte order. It also states that one parameter (i.e. one byte) shall be sent/received for 8 bit wide values, and two parameters shall be used for values that are between 9 and 16 bits wide. Add new functions to properly handle 16-bit brightness in big endian, since the two 8- and 16-bit cases are distinct from each other. 2023-01-18Revert "net: team: use IFF_NO_ADDRCONF flag to prevent ipv6 addrconf"Xin Long
This reverts commit 0aa64df30b382fc71d4fb1827d528e0eb3eff854. Currently IFF_NO_ADDRCONF is used to prevent all ipv6 addrconf for the slave ports of team, bonding and failover devices and it means no ipv6 packets can be sent out through these slave ports. However, for team device, "nsna_ping" link_watch requires ipv6 addrconf. Otherwise, the link will be marked failure. This patch removes the IFF_NO_ADDRCONF flag set for team port, and we will fix the original issue in another patch, as Jakub suggested. 2023-01-18drm/amd/display: fix issues with driver unloadHamza Mahfooz
Currently, we run into a number of WARN()s when attempting to unload the amdgpu driver (e.g. using "modprobe -r amdgpu"). These all stem from calling drm_encoder_cleanup() too early. So, to fix this we can stop calling drm_encoder_cleanup() from amdgpu_dm_fini() and instead have it be called from amdgpu_dm_encoder_destroy(). Also, we don't need to free in amdgpu_dm_encoder_destroy() since mst_encoders[] isn't explicitly allocated by the slab allocator. The YCC conversion matrix for RGB -> COLOR_SPACE_YCBCR2020_TYPE is missing the values for the fourth column of the matrix. The fourth column of the matrix is essentially just a value that is added given that the color is 3 components in size. These values are needed to bias the chroma from the [-1, 1] -> [0, 1] range. This fixes color being very green when using Gamescope HDR on HDMI output which prefers YCC 4:4:4. 2023-01-18drm/amd/display: fix issues with driver unloadHamza Mahfooz
Currently, we run into a number of WARN()s when attempting to unload the amdgpu driver (e.g. using "modprobe -r amdgpu"). These all stem from calling drm_encoder_cleanup() too early. So, to fix this we can stop calling drm_encoder_cleanup() from amdgpu_dm_fini() and instead have it be called from amdgpu_dm_encoder_destroy(). Also, we don't need to free in amdgpu_dm_encoder_destroy() since mst_encoders[] isn't explicitly allocated by the slab allocator. If during iscsi_sw_tcp_session_create() iscsi_tcp_r2tpool_alloc() fails, userspace could be accessing the host's ipaddress attr. If we then free the session via iscsi_session_teardown() while userspace is still accessing the session we will hit a use after free bug. Set the tcp_sw_host->session after we have completed session creation and can no longer fail. 2023-01-18scsi: ufs: core: Fix devfreq deadlocksJohan Hovold
There is a lock inversion and rwsem read-lock recursion in the devfreq target callback which can lead to deadlocks. Specifically, ufshcd_devfreq_scale() already holds a clk_scaling_lock read lock when toggling the write booster, which involves taking the dev_cmd mutex before taking another clk_scaling_lock read lock. This can lead to a deadlock if another thread: 1) tries to acquire the dev_cmd and clk_scaling locks in the correct order, or 2) takes a clk_scaling write lock before the attempt to take the clk_scaling read lock a second time. Fix this by dropping the clk_scaling_lock before toggling the write booster as was done before commit 0e9d4ca43ba8 ("scsi: ufs: Protect some contexts from unexpected clock scaling"). While the devfreq callbacks are already serialised, add a second serialising mutex to handle the unlikely case where a callback triggered through the devfreq sysfs interface is racing with a request to disable clock scaling through the UFS controller 'clkscale_enable' sysfs attribute. This could otherwise lead to the write booster being left disabled after having disabled clock scaling. Also take the new mutex in ufshcd_clk_scaling_allow() to make sure that any pending write booster update has completed on return. Note that this currently only affects Qualcomm platforms since commit 87bd05016a64 ("scsi: ufs: core: Allow host driver to disable wb toggling during clock scaling"). 2023-01-18drm/i915: Move/adjust register definitions related to Wa_22011450934Matt Roper
The implementation of Wa_22011450934 introduced three new register definitions in i915_reg.h that didn't get moved to the GT/engine register headers when all the other registers moved; let's move them to the appropriate headers and tidy up their definitions now for consistency: - STATE_ACK_DEBUG is moved to the engine register header and converted to a parameterized definition; the workaround only needs the RCS instance to be programmed, but there are instances on other engines that could be used by other workarounds in the future. - The two CULLBIT registers move to the GT register header. Since they belong to MMIO ranges that became MCR starting with Xe_HP, their definitions should be defined as MCR_REG() and use an Xe_HP prefix to keep the register semantics clear. Note that the MCR definition is just for consistency and to prevent accidental misuse if other workarounds related to these registers show up in the future. There's no functional change to today's driver since the workaround that references these registers only accesses them via MI_LRR engine instructions. Engine-initiated register accesses do not utilize the same steering controls as CPU-initiated accesses; they use a different steering control register (0x20CC) which is initialized to a non-terminated DSS target by pre-OS firmware and never changed thereafter (i915 does not touch it and userspace does not have permission to change that register). 2023-01-18ACPI: PRM: Check whether EFI runtime is availableArd Biesheuvel
The ACPI PRM address space handler calls efi_call_virt_pointer() to execute PRM firmware code, but doing so is only permitted when the EFI runtime environment is available. Otherwise, such calls are guaranteed to result in a crash, and must therefore be avoided. Given that the EFI runtime services may become unavailable after a crash occurring in the firmware, we need to check this each time the PRM address space handler is invoked. If the EFI runtime services were not available at registration time to being with, don't install the address space handler at all.
