2014-07-16cpufreq: cpu0: OPPs can be populated at runtimeViresh Kumar
OPPs can be populated statically, via DT, or added at run time with dev_pm_opp_add(). While this driver handles the first case correctly, it would fail to populate OPPs added at runtime. Because call to of_init_opp_table() would fail as there are no OPPs in DT and probe will return early. To fix this, remove error checking and call dev_pm_opp_init_cpufreq_table() unconditionally. Update bindings as well. 2014-07-16cpufreq: kirkwood: Reinstate cpufreq driver for ARCH_KIRKWOODQuentin Armitage
Commit ff1f0018cf66080d8e6f59791e552615648a033a ("drivers: Enable building of Kirkwood drivers for mach-mvebu") added Kirkwood into mach-mvebu, adding MACH_KIRKWOOD to ARCH_KIRKWOOD in the KConfig files. The change for ARM_KIRKWOOD_CPUFREQ replaced ARCH_KIRKWOOD with MACH_KIRKWOOD, whereas all the other changes were ARCH_KIRKWOOD || MACH_KIRKWOOD. As a consequence of this change, the cpufreq driver is no longer enabled for ARCH_KIRKWOOD. This patch reinstates ARM_KIRKWOOD_CPUFREQ for ARCH_KIRKWOOD. 2014-07-16sched: Remove proliferation of wait_on_bit() action functionsNeilBrown
The current "wait_on_bit" interface requires an 'action' function to be provided which does the actual waiting. There are over 20 such functions, many of them identical. Most cases can be satisfied by one of just two functions, one which uses io_schedule() and one which just uses schedule(). So: Rename wait_on_bit and wait_on_bit_lock to wait_on_bit_action and wait_on_bit_lock_action to make it explicit that they need an action function. Introduce new wait_on_bit{,_lock} and wait_on_bit{,_lock}_io which are *not* given an action function but implicitly use a standard one. The decision to error-out if a signal is pending is now made based on the 'mode' argument rather than being encoded in the action function. All instances of the old wait_on_bit and wait_on_bit_lock which can use the new version have been changed accordingly and their action functions have been discarded. wait_on_bit{_lock} does not return any specific error code in the event of a signal so the caller must check for non-zero and interpolate their own error code as appropriate. The wait_on_bit() call in __fscache_wait_on_invalidate() was ambiguous as it specified TASK_UNINTERRUPTIBLE but used fscache_wait_bit_interruptible as an action function. David Howells confirms this should be uniformly "uninterruptible" The main remaining user of wait_on_bit{,_lock}_action is NFS which needs to use a freezer-aware schedule() call. A comment in fs/gfs2/glock.c notes that having multiple 'action' functions is useful as they display differently in the 'wchan' field of 'ps'. (and /proc/$PID/wchan). As the new bit_wait{,_io} functions are tagged "__sched", they will not show up at all, but something higher in the stack. So the distinction will still be visible, only with different function names (gds2_glock_wait versus gfs2_glock_dq_wait in the gfs2/glock.c case). Since first version of this patch (against 3.15) two new action functions appeared, on in NFS and one in CIFS. CIFS also now uses an action function that makes the same freezer aware schedule call as NFS. 2014-07-16s390/3270: correct size detection with the read-partition commandMartin Schwidefsky
The size detection for 3270 terminals with the read-partition command is broken. The raw3270_reset_device_cb function clears the init_data array, but if raw3270_writesf_readpart has been called the read-partition command is queued which needs the init_data array. 2014-07-15staging: tidspbridge: remove driverKristina Martšenko
The driver has been broken and disabled for several kernel versions now. It doesn't have a maintainer anymore, and most of the people who've worked on it have moved on. There's also still a long list of issues in the TODO file before it can be moved out of staging. Until someone can put in the work to make the driver work again and move it out of staging, remove it from the kernel. 2014-07-15clk: qcom: Fix PLL rate configurationsStephen Boyd
Sometimes we need to program PLLs with a fixed rate configuration during driver probe. Doing this after we register the PLLs with the clock framework causes the common clock framework to assume the rate of the PLLs are 0. This causes all sorts of problems for rate recalculations because the common clock framework caches the rate once at registration time unless a flag is set to always recalculate the rates. Split the qcom_cc_probe() function into two pieces, map and everything else, so that drivers which need to configure some PLL rates or otherwise twiddle bits in the clock controller can do so before registering clocks. 2014-07-15clk: qcom: Fix MN frequency tables, parent map, and jpegdStephen Boyd
Clocks that don't have a pre-divider don't list any pre-divider in their frequency tables, but their tables are initialized using aggregate initializers. Use tagged initializers so we properly assign the m and n values for each frequency. Furthermore, the mmcc_pxo_pll8_pll2_pll3 array improperly mapped the second element to pll2 instead of pll8, causing the clock driver to recalculate the wrong rate for any clocks using this array along with a rate that uses pll2. Plus the .num_parents field is 3 instead of 4 so you can't even switch the parent to pll3. Finally I noticed that the jpegd clock improperly indicates that the pre-divider width is only 2, when it's actually 4 bits wide. In the case of HDMI clocks, we want to bypass the RCG's ability to divide the output clock and pass through the parent HDMI PLL rate. Add a simple set of clk_ops to configure the RCG to do this. This removes the need to keep adding more frequency entries to the tv_src clock whenever we want to support a new rate. 2014-07-15pinctrl: st: Fix irqmux handlerMaxime COQUELIN
st_gpio_irqmux_handler() reads the status register to find out which banks inside the controller have pending IRQs. For each banks having pending IRQs, it calls the corresponding handler. Problem is that current code restricts the number of possible banks inside the controller to ST_GPIO_PINS_PER_BANK. This define represents the number of pins inside a bank, so it shouldn't be used here. On STiH407, PIO_FRONT0 controller has 10 banks, so IRQs pending in the two last banks (PIO18 & PIO19) aren't handled. This patch replace ST_GPIO_PINS_PER_BANK by the number of banks inside the controller. The block size for the thin-pool's data device must remained fixed for the life of the thin-pool. Disallow any attempt to change the thin-pool's data block size. It should be noted that attempting to change the data block size via thin-pool table reload will be ignored as a side-effect of the thin-pool handover that the thin-pool target does during thin-pool table reload. Here is an example outcome of attempting to load a thin-pool table that reduced the thin-pool's data block size from 1024K to 512K.
