2018-01-08{net, IB}/mlx5: Manage port association for multiport RoCEDaniel Jurgens
When mlx5_ib_add is called determine if the mlx5 core device being added is capable of dual port RoCE operation. If it is, determine whether it is a master device or a slave device using the num_vhca_ports and affiliate_nic_vport_criteria capabilities. If the device is a slave, attempt to find a master device to affiliate it with. Devices that can be affiliated will share a system image guid. If none are found place it on a list of unaffiliated ports. If a master is found bind the port to it by configuring the port affiliation in the NIC vport context. Similarly when mlx5_ib_remove is called determine the port type. If it's a slave port, unaffiliate it from the master device, otherwise just remove it from the unaffiliated port list. The IB device is registered as a multiport device, even if a 2nd port is not available for affiliation. When the 2nd port is affiliated later the GID cache must be refreshed in order to get the default GIDs for the 2nd port in the cache. Export roce_rescan_device to provide a mechanism to refresh the cache after a new port is bound. In a multiport configuration all IB object (QP, MR, PD, etc) related commands should flow through the master mlx5_core_dev, other commands must be sent to the slave port mlx5_core_mdev, an interface is provide to get the correct mdev for non IB object commands. 2018-01-08net/mlx5: Set software owner ID during init HCADaniel Jurgens
Generate a unique 128bit identifier for each host and pass that value to firmware in the INIT_HCA command if it reports the sw_owner_id capability. Each device bound to the mlx5_core driver will have the same software owner ID. In subsequent patches mlx5_core devices will be bound via a new VPort command so that they can operate together under a single InfiniBand device. Only devices that have the same software owner ID can be bound, to prevent traffic intended for one host arriving at another. The INIT_HCA command length was expanded by 128 bits. The command length is provided as an input FW commands. Older FW does not have a problem receiving this command in the new longer form. 2018-01-08iomap: report collisions between directio and buffered writes to userspaceDarrick J. Wong
If two programs simultaneously try to write to the same part of a file via direct IO and buffered IO, there's a chance that the post-diowrite pagecache invalidation will fail on the dirty page. When this happens, the dio write succeeded, which means that the page cache is no longer coherent with the disk! Programs are not supposed to mix IO types and this is a clear case of data corruption, so store an EIO which will be reflected to userspace during the next fsync. Replace the WARN_ON with a ratelimited pr_crit so that the developers have /some/ kind of breadcrumb to track down the offending program(s) and file(s) involved. Signed-off-by: Darrick J. 2018-01-08IB/mlx5: Add support for DC target QPMoni Shoua
A DC Target (DCT) QP is represented in the hardware as a unique object. This object is created by CREATE_DCT command and destroyed by DESTROY_DCT command. However, in the driver we describe it as a QP. The hardware command that creates a DCT needs parameters that the verb create_qp() does not provide. Those remaining parameters are provided with the call to the verb modify_qp(). Therefore we delay the actual creation of a DCT in the hardware until the stage of modify_qp() to RTR. A support for query_qp() was added as well. It uses QUERY_DCT command to retrieve the applicable fields. 2018-01-08IB/mlx5: Handle type IB_QPT_DRIVER when creating a QPMoni Shoua
The QP type IB_QPT_DRIVER doesn't describe the transport or the service that the QP provides but those are known only to the hardware driver. The actual type of the QP is stored in the hardware driver context (i.e. mlx5_qp) under the field qp_sub_type. Take the real QP type and any extra data that is required to create the QP from the driver channel and modify the QP initial attributes before continuing with create_qp(). Downstream patches from this series will add support for both DCI and DCT driver QPs. 2018-01-08IB/core: Introduce driver QP typeMoni Shoua
Vendors can implement type of QPs that are not described in the InfiniBand specification. To still be able to use the IB/core layer services (e.g. user object management) without tainting this layer with driver proprietary logic, a new QP type is added - IB_QPT_DRIVER. This will be a general QP type that the core layer doesn't know about its true nature. When a command like create_qp() is passed to a hardware driver the extra data that is required is taken from the driver channel. Downstream patches from this series will use that QP type in the mlx5 driver. Add new instruction for the nf_tables VM that allows us to specify what flows are offloaded into a given flow table via name. This new instruction creates the flow entry and adds it to the flow table. Only established flows, ie. we have seen traffic in both directions, are added to the flow table. You can still decide to offload entries at a later stage via packet counting or checking the ct status in case you want to offload assured conntracks. This patch defines the API to interact with flow tables, this allows to add, delete and lookup for entries in the flow table. This also adds the generic garbage code that removes entries that have expired, ie. no traffic has been seen for a while. Users of the flow table infrastructure can delete entries via flow_offload_dead(), which sets the dying bit, this signals the garbage collector to release an entry from user context. This patch introduces a netlink control plane to create, delete and dump flow tables. Flow tables are identified by name, this name is used from rules to refer to an specific flow table. Flow tables use the rhashtable class and a generic garbage collector to remove expired entries. The timer of such conntrack entries look like stopped from userspace. In practise, to make sure the conntrack entry does not go away, the conntrack timer is periodically set to an arbitrary large value that gets refreshed on every iteration from the garbage collector, so it never expires- and they display no internal state in the case of TCP flows. This allows us to save a bitcheck from the packet path via nf_ct_is_expired(). Conntrack entries that have been offloaded to the flow table infrastructure cannot be deleted/flushed via ctnetlink. 2018-01-08netfilter: core: only allow one nat hook per hook pointFlorian Westphal
The netfilter NAT core cannot deal with more than one NAT hook per hook location (prerouting, input ...), because the NAT hooks install a NAT null binding in case the iptables nat table (iptable_nat hooks) or the corresponding nftables chain (nft nat hooks) doesn't specify a nat transformation. Null bindings are needed to detect port collsisions between NAT-ed and non-NAT-ed connections. This causes nftables NAT rules to not work when iptable_nat module is loaded, and vice versa because nat binding has already been attached when the second nat hook is consulted. The netfilter core is not really the correct location to handle this (hooks are just hooks, the core has no notion of what kinds of side effects a hook implements), but its the only place where we can check for conflicts between both iptables hooks and nftables hooks without adding dependencies. So add nat annotation to hook_ops to describe those hooks that will add NAT bindings and then make core reject if such a hook already exists. currently we always return -ENOENT to userspace if we can't find a particular table, or if the table initialization fails. Followup patch will make nat table init fail in case nftables already registered a nat hook so this change makes xt_find_table_lock return an ERR_PTR to return the errno value reported from the table init function. struct net contains: struct nf_hook_entries __rcu *hooks[NFPROTO_NUMPROTO][NF_MAX_HOOKS]; which store the hook entry point locations for the various protocol families and the hooks. Using array results in compact c code when doing accesses, i.e. x = rcu_dereference(net->nf.hooks[pf][hook]); but its also wasting a lot of memory, as most families are not used. So split the array into those families that are used, which are only 5 (instead of 13). Giuseppe Scrivano says: "SELinux, if enabled, registers for each new network namespace 6 netfilter hooks." Cost for this is high. With synchronize_net() removed: "The net benefit on an SMP machine with two cores is that creating a new network namespace takes -40% of the original time." This patch replaces synchronize_net+kvfree with call_rcu(). We store rcu_head at the tail of a structure that has no fixed layout, i.e. we cannot use offsetof() to compute the start of the original allocation. Thus store this information right after the rcu head. We could simplify this by just placing the rcu_head at the start of struct nf_hook_entries. However, this structure is used in packet processing hotpath, so only place what is needed for that at the beginning of the struct.
