2016-07-19[media] cec: limit the size of the transmit queueHans Verkuil
The size of the transmit queue was unlimited, which meant that in non-blocking mode you could flood the CEC adapter with messages to be transmitted. Limit this to 18 messages. Also print the number of pending transmits and the timeout value in the status debugfs file. 2016-07-17[media] doc-rst: Fix conversion for MC core functionsMauro Carvalho Chehab
There were lots of issues at the media controller side, after the conversion: - Some documentation at the header files weren't using the kernel-doc start block; - Now, the C files with the exported symbols also need to be added. So, all headers need to be included twice: one to get the structs/enums/.. and another one for the functions; - Notes should use the ReST tag, as kernel-doc doesn't recognizes it anymore; - Identation needs to be fixed, as ReST uses it to identify when a format "tag" ends. - Fix the cross-references at the media controller description. 2016-07-17[media] doc-rst: Fix conversion for v4l2 core functionsMauro Carvalho Chehab
The conversion from DocBook lead into some conversion issues, basically due to the lack of proper support at kernel-doc. So, address them: - Now, the C files with the exported symbols also need to be added. So, all headers need to be included twice: one to get the structs/enums/.. and another one for the functions; - Notes should use the ReST tag, as kernel-doc doesn't recognizes it anymore; - Identation needs to be fixed, as ReST uses it to identify when a format "tag" ends. - kernel-doc doesn't escape things like *pointer, so we need to manually add a escape char before it. - On some cases, kernel-doc conversion requires violating the 80-cols, as otherwise it won't properly parse the source code. 2016-07-13[media] cec: split the timestamp into an rx and tx timestampHans Verkuil
When transmitting a message and waiting for a reply it would be good to know the time between when the message was transmitted and when the reply arrived. With only one timestamp field it was set to when the reply arrived and the original transmit time was overwritten. Just taking the timestamp in userspace right before CEC_TRANSMIT is called is not reliable, since the actual transmit can be delayed if the CEC bus is busy. Only the driver can fill this in accurately. So split up the ts field into an rx_ts and a tx_ts. Also move the status fields to after the 'reply' field: they were placed in a strange position and make much more sense when grouped with the other status-related fields. This patch also makes sure that the timestamp is taken as soon as possible. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>

While reviewing the documentation gaps on LIRC, it was noticed that several ioctls aren't used by any LIRC drivers (nor at staging or mainstream). It doesn't make sense to document them, as they're not used anywhere. So, let's remove those from the lirc header. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>

2016-07-08[media] vb2: replace void *alloc_ctxs by struct device *alloc_devsHans Verkuil
Make this a proper typed array. Drop the old allocate context code since that is no longer used. Note that the memops functions now get a struct device pointer instead of the struct device ** that was there initially (actually a void pointer to a struct containing only a struct device pointer). This code is now a lot cleaner. 2016-07-08[media] vb2: add a dev field to use for the default allocation contextHans Verkuil
The allocation context is nothing more than a per-plane device pointer to use when allocating buffers. So just provide a dev pointer in vb2_queue for that purpose and drivers can skip allocating/releasing/filling in the allocation context unless they require different per-plane device pointers as used by some Samsung SoCs. 2016-06-29reset: Ensure drivers are explicit when requesting reset linesLee Jones
Phasing out generic reset line requests enables us to make some better decisions on when and how to (de)assert said lines. If an 'exclusive' line is requested, we know a device *requires* a reset and that it's preferable to act upon a request right away. However, if a 'shared' reset line is requested, we can reasonably assume sure that placing a device into reset isn't a hard requirement, but probably a measure to save power and is thus able to cope with not being asserted if another device is still in use. In order allow gentle adoption and not to forcing all consumers to move to the API immediately, causing administration headache between subsystems, this patch adds some temporary stand-in shim-calls. This will ease the burden at merge time and allow subsystems to migrate over to the new API in a more realistic time-frame. 2016-06-29bpf, perf: delay release of BPF prog after grace periodDaniel Borkmann
Commit dead9f29ddcc ("perf: Fix race in BPF program unregister") moved destruction of BPF program from free_event_rcu() callback to __free_event(), which is problematic if used with tail calls: if prog A is attached as trace event directly, but at the same time present in a tail call map used by another trace event program elsewhere, then we need to delay destruction via RCU grace period since it can still be in use by the program doing the tail call (the prog first needs to be dropped from the tail call map, then trace event with prog A attached destroyed, so we get immediate destruction). 2016-06-29drm/i915: Removing PCI IDs that are no longer listed as Kabylake.Rodrigo Vivi
This is unusual. Usually IDs listed on early stages of platform definition are kept there as reserved for later use. However these IDs here are not listed anymore in any of steppings and devices IDs tables for Kabylake on configurations overview section of BSpec. So it is better removing them before they become used in any other future platform. 2016-06-28audit: move audit_get_tty to reduce scope and kabi changesRichard Guy Briggs
The only users of audit_get_tty and audit_put_tty are internal to audit, so move it out of include/linux/audit.h to kernel.h and create a proper function rather than inlining it. This also reduces kABI changes.
