2017-08-09mac80211: add api to start ba session timer expired flowNaftali Goldstein
Some drivers handle rx buffer reordering internally (and by extension handle also the rx ba session timer internally), but do not ofload the addba/delba negotiation. Add an api for these drivers to properly tear-down the ba session, including sending a delba. 2017-08-08bpf/verifier: track signed and unsigned min/max valuesEdward Cree
Allows us to, sometimes, combine information from a signed check of one bound and an unsigned check of the other. We now track the full range of possible values, rather than restricting ourselves to [0, 1<<30) and considering anything beyond that as unknown. While this is probably not necessary, it makes the code more straightforward and symmetrical between signed and unsigned bounds. Unifies adjusted and unadjusted register value types (e.g. FRAME_POINTER is now just a PTR_TO_STACK with zero offset). Tracks value alignment by means of tracking known & unknown bits. This also replaces the 'reg->imm' (leading zero bits) calculations for (what were) UNKNOWN_VALUEs. If pointer leaks are allowed, and adjust_ptr_min_max_vals returns -EACCES, treat the pointer as an unknown scalar and try again, because we might be able to conclude something about the result (e.g. pointer & 0x40 is either 0 or 0x40). 2017-08-08mlx5: move affinity hints assignments to generic codeSagi Grimberg
generic api takes care of spreading affinity similar to what mlx5 open coded (and even handles better asymmetric configurations). Ask the generic API to spread affinity for us, and feed him pre_vectors that do not participate in affinity settings (which is an improvement to what we had before). The affinity assignments should match what mlx5 tried to do earlier but now we do not set affinity to async, cmd and pages dedicated vectors. Also, remove mlx5e_get_cpu and introduce mlx5e_get_node (used for allocation purposes) and mlx5_get_vector_affinity (for indirection table construction) as they provide the needed information. Luckily, we have generic helpers to get cpumask and node given a irq vector. mlx5_get_vector_affinity will be used by mlx5_ib in a subsequent patch. It's dead code, the core handles all this directly now. This also allows us to unexport drm_atomic_helper_connector_set_property. The only special case is nouveau which used one function for both pre-nv50 legacy modeset code and post-nv50 atomic world instead of 2 vtables. But amounts to exactly the same. What is rather strange here is how few drivers set this up, I suspect the earlier patch to handle properties in the core did end up fixing a pile of possible issues. 2017-08-08drm: Handle properties in the core for atomic driversDaniel Vetter
The reason behind the original indirection through the helper functions was to allow existing drivers to overwrite how they handle properties. For example when a vendor-specific userspace had expectations that didn't match atomic. That seemed likely, since atomic is standardizing a _lot_ more of the behaviour of a kms driver. But 20 drivers later there's no such need at all. Worse, this forces all drivers to hook up the default behaviour, breaking userspace if they forget to do that. And it forces us to export a bunch of core function just for those helpers. And finally, these helpers are the last places using drm_atomic_legacy_backoff() and the implicit acquire_ctx. This patch here just implements the new behaviour and updates the docs. Set media_version to LINUX_VERSION_CODE, just as we did for driver_version. Nobody ever rememebers to update the version number, but LINUX_VERSION_CODE will always be updated. Move the MEDIA_API_VERSION define to the ifndef __KERNEL__ section of the media.h header. That way kernelspace can't accidentally start to use it again. If a vcpu exits due to request a user mode spinlock, then the spinlock-holder may be preempted in user mode or kernel mode. (Note that not all architectures trap spin loops in user mode, only AMD x86 and ARM/ARM64 currently do). But if a vcpu exits in kernel mode, then the holder must be preempted in kernel mode, so we should choose a vcpu in kernel mode as a more likely candidate for the lock holder. This introduces kvm_arch_vcpu_in_kernel() to decide whether the vcpu is in kernel-mode when it's preempted. kvm_vcpu_on_spin's new argument says the same of the spinning VCPU. Currently the bridge port flags, vlans, FDBs and MDBs can be offloaded through the bridge code, making the switchdev's SELF bridge bypass implementation to be redundant. This implies several changes: - No need for dump infra in switchdev, DSA's special case is handled privately. - Remove obj_dump from switchdev_ops. - FDBs are removed from obj_add/del routines, due to the fact that they are offloaded through the bridge notification chain. - The switchdev_port_bridge_xx() and switchdev_port_fdb_xx() functions can be removed. 2017-08-07ipv6: sr: define core operations for seg6local lightweight tunnelDavid Lebrun
This patch implements a new type of lightweight tunnel named seg6local. A seg6local lwt is defined by a type of action and a set of parameters. The action represents the operation to perform on the packets matching the lwt's route, and is not necessarily an encapsulation. The set of parameters are arguments for the processing function. Each action is defined in a struct seg6_action_desc within seg6_action_table[]. This structure contains the action, mandatory attributes, the processing function, and a static headroom size required by the action. The mandatory attributes are encoded as a bitmask field. The static headroom is set to a non-zero value when the processing function always add a constant number of bytes to the skb (e.g. the header size for encapsulations). To facilitate rtnetlink-related operations such as parsing, fill_encap, and cmp_encap, each type of action parameter is associated to three function pointers, in seg6_action_params[]. All actions defined in seg6_local.h are detailed in [1]. Currently, bpf programs cannot be attached to sys_enter_* and sys_exit_* style tracepoints. The iovisor/bcc issue #748 (https://github.com/iovisor/bcc/issues/748) documents this issue. For example, if you try to attach a bpf program to tracepoints syscalls/sys_enter_newfstat, you will get the following error: # ./tools/trace.py t:syscalls:sys_enter_newfstat Ioctl(PERF_EVENT_IOC_SET_BPF): Invalid argument Failed to attach BPF to tracepoint The main reason is that syscalls/sys_enter_* and syscalls/sys_exit_* tracepoints are treated differently from other tracepoints and there is no bpf hook to it. This patch adds bpf support for these syscalls tracepoints by . permitting bpf attachment in ioctl PERF_EVENT_IOC_SET_BPF . calling bpf programs in perf_syscall_enter and perf_syscall_exit The legality of bpf program ctx access is also checked. Function trace_event_get_offsets returns correct max offset for each specific syscall tracepoint, which is compared against the maximum offset access in bpf program. 2017-08-07scsi: fc: start decoupling fc_block_scsi_eh from scsi_cmndSteffen Maier
Scsi_cmnd is an unsuitable argument for eh_device_reset_handler(), eh_target_reset_handler(), and eh_host_reset_handler() which do not have the scope of one single SCSI command. These callbacks tend to use fc_block_scsi_eh() requiring scsi_cmnd. In order to start decoupling above eh callbacks from scsi_cmnd, introduce a new variant of the function called fc_block_rport() taking an fc_rport as argument. Refactor the old fc_block_scsi_eh() to simply delegate to fc_block_rport().
