2021-11-01netfilter: nft_meta: add NFT_META_IFTYPEPablo Neira Ayuso
Generalize NFT_META_IIFTYPE to NFT_META_IFTYPE which allows you to match on the interface type of the skb->dev field. This field is used by the netdev family to add an implicit dependency to skip non-ethernet packets when matching on layer 3 and 4 TCP/IP header fields. For backward compatibility, add the NFT_META_IIFTYPE alias to NFT_META_IFTYPE. Add __NFT_META_IIFTYPE, to be used by userspace in the future to match specifically on the iiftype. 2021-10-29net: bridge: switchdev: fix shim definition for br_switchdev_mdb_notifyVladimir Oltean
br_switchdev_mdb_notify() is conditionally compiled only when CONFIG_NET_SWITCHDEV=y and CONFIG_BRIDGE_IGMP_SNOOPING=y. It is called from br_mdb.c, which is conditionally compiled only when CONFIG_BRIDGE_IGMP_SNOOPING=y. The shim definition of br_switchdev_mdb_notify() is therefore needed for the case where CONFIG_NET_SWITCHDEV=n, however we mistakenly put it there for the case where CONFIG_BRIDGE_IGMP_SNOOPING=n. This results in build failures when CONFIG_BRIDGE_IGMP_SNOOPING=y and CONFIG_NET_SWITCHDEV=n. To fix this, put the shim definition right next to br_switchdev_fdb_notify(), which is properly guarded by NET_SWITCHDEV=n. Since this is called only from br_mdb.c, we need not take any extra safety precautions, when NET_SWITCHDEV=n and BRIDGE_IGMP_SNOOPING=n, this shim definition will be absent but nobody will be needing it. In 2009 Oleg reworked[1] the kernel threads so that it is not necessary to call do_exit if you are not using kthread_stop(). Remove the explicit calls of do_exit and complete_and_exit (with a NULL completion) that were previously necessary. This makes hci_suspend_notifier use the hci_*_sync which can be executed synchronously which is allowed in the suspend_notifier and simplifies a lot of the handling since the status of each command can be checked inline so no other work need to be scheduled thus can be performed without using of a state machine. This enables advertising when LL privacy is enabled and changes the command sequence when resolving list is updated to also account for when advertising is enabled using the following sequence: If there are devices to scan: Disable Scanning -> Update Accept List -> use_ll_privacy((Disable Advertising) -> Disable Resolving List -> Update Resolving List -> Enable Resolving List -> (Enable Advertising)) -> Enable Scanning Otherwise: Disable Scanning Errors during the Update Accept List stage are handled gracefully by restoring any previous state (e.g. advertising) and disabling the use of accept list as either accept list or resolving list could not be updated. 2021-10-29Bluetooth: Add helper for serialized HCI command executionMarcel Holtmann
The usage of __hci_cmd_sync() within the hdev->setup() callback allows for a nice and simple serialized execution of HCI commands. More importantly it allows for result processing before issueing the next command. With the current usage of hci_req_run() it is possible to batch up commands and execute them, but it is impossible to react to their results or errors. This is an attempt to generalize the hdev->setup() handling and provide a simple way of running multiple HCI commands from a single function context. There are multiple struct work that are decdicated to certain tasks already used right now. It is add a lot of bloat to hci_dev struct and extra handling code. So it might be possible to put all of these behind a common HCI command infrastructure and just execute the HCI commands from the same work context in a serialized fashion. For example updating the white list and resolving list can be done now without having to know the list size ahead of time. Also preparing for suspend or resume shouldn't require a state machine anymore. There are other tasks that should be simplified as well. 2021-10-29cls_flower: Fix inability to match GRE/IPIP packetsYoshiki Komachi
When a packet of a new flow arrives in openvswitch kernel module, it dissects the packet and passes the extracted flow key to ovs-vswtichd daemon. If hw- offload configuration is enabled, the daemon creates a new TC flower entry to bypass openvswitch kernel module for the flow (TC flower can also offload flows to NICs but this time that does not matter). In this processing flow, I found the following issue in cases of GRE/IPIP packets. When ovs_flow_key_extract() in openvswitch module parses a packet of a new GRE (or IPIP) flow received on non-tunneling vports, it extracts information of the outer IP header for ip_proto/src_ip/dst_ip match keys. This means ovs-vswitchd creates a TC flower entry with IP protocol/addresses match keys whose values are those of the outer IP header. OTOH, TC flower, which uses flow_dissector (different parser from openvswitch module), extracts information of the inner IP header. IMHO, the behavior of TC flower (flow dissector) does not look correct, as ip_proto/src_ip/dst_ip in TC flower match means the outermost IP header information except for GRE/IPIP cases. This patch adds a new flow_dissector flag FLOW_DISSECTOR_F_STOP_BEFORE_ENCAP which skips dissection of the encapsulated inner GRE/IPIP header in TC flower classifier. 2021-10-29sctp: allow IP fragmentation when PLPMTUD enters Error stateXin Long
Currently when PLPMTUD enters Error state, transport pathmtu will be set to MIN_PLPMTU(512) while probe is continuing with BASE_PLPMTU(1200). It will cause pathmtu to stay in a very small value, even if the real pmtu is some value like 1000. RFC8899 doesn't clearly say how to set the value in Error state. But one possibility could be keep using BASE_PLPMTU for the real pmtu, but allow to do IP fragmentation when it's in Error state. As it says in rfc8899#section-5.4: Some paths could be unable to sustain packets of the BASE_PLPMTU size. The Error State could be implemented to provide robustness to such paths. This allows fallback to a smaller than desired PLPMTU rather than suffer connectivity failure. This could utilize methods such as endpoint IP fragmentation to enable the PL sender to communicate using packets smaller than the BASE_PLPMTU. This patch is to set pmtu to BASE_PLPMTU instead of MIN_PLPMTU for Error state in sctp_transport_pl_send/toobig(), and set packet ipfragok for non-probe packets when it's in Error state. The following functions: br_mdb_complete br_switchdev_mdb_populate br_mdb_replay_one br_mdb_queue_one br_mdb_replay br_mdb_switchdev_host_port br_mdb_switchdev_host br_switchdev_mdb_notify are only accessible from code paths where CONFIG_NET_SWITCHDEV is enabled. So move them to br_switchdev.c, in order for that code to be compiled out if that config option is disabled. Note that br_switchdev.c gets build regardless of whether CONFIG_BRIDGE_IGMP_SNOOPING is enabled or not, whereas br_mdb.c only got built when CONFIG_BRIDGE_IGMP_SNOOPING was enabled. So to preserve correct compilation with CONFIG_BRIDGE_IGMP_SNOOPING being disabled, we must now place an #ifdef around these functions in br_switchdev.c. The offending bridge data structures that need this are br->multicast_lock and br->mdb_list, these are also compiled out of struct net_bridge when CONFIG_BRIDGE_IGMP_SNOOPING is turned off. If we remove one instance of adv using Set Extended Adv Enable, there is a possibility of issue occurs when processing the Command Complete event. Especially, the adv_info might not be found since we already remove it in hci_req_clear_adv_instance() -> hci_remove_adv_instance(). If that's the case, we will mistakenly proceed to remove all adv instances instead of just one single instance. This patch fixes the issue by checking the content of the HCI command instead of checking whether the adv_info is found. 2021-10-28net: ipconfig: Release the rtnl_lock while waiting for carrierMaxime Chevallier
While waiting for a carrier to come on one of the netdevices, some devices will require to take the rtnl lock at some point to fully initialize all parts of the link. That's the case for SFP, where the rtnl is taken when a module gets detected. This prevents mounting an NFS rootfs over an SFP link. This means that while ipconfig waits for carriers to be detected, no SFP modules can be detected in the meantime, it's only detected after ipconfig times out. This commit releases the rtnl_lock while waiting for the carrier to come up, and re-takes it to check the for the init device and carrier status.
