2017-03-07libceph: osd_request_timeout optionIlya Dryomov
osd_request_timeout specifies how many seconds to wait for a response from OSDs before returning -ETIMEDOUT from an OSD request. 0 (default) means no limit. osd_request_timeout is osdkeepalive-precise -- in-flight requests are swept through every osdkeepalive seconds. With ack vs commit behaviour gone, abort_request() is really simple. This is based on a patch from Artur Molchanov <artur.molchanov@synesis.ru>. 2017-03-07libceph: don't set weight to IN when OSD is destroyedIlya Dryomov
Since ceph.git commit 4e28f9e63644 ("osd/OSDMap: clear osd_info, osd_xinfo on osd deletion"), weight is set to IN when OSD is deleted. This changes the result of applying an incremental for clients, not just OSDs. Because CRUSH computations are obviously affected, pre-4e28f9e63644 servers disagree with post-4e28f9e63644 clients on object placement, resulting in misdirected requests. Mirrors ceph.git commit a6009d1039a55e2c77f431662b3d6cc5a8e8e63f. 2017-03-07mac80211: ignore VHT membership selector when parsing ratesJohannes Berg
There isn't really much harm in not ignoring, since it doesn't represent a valid rate, but since we already ignore the HT one also ignore VHT. Also simplify the code a bit. Fix a typo in the related comment (pointed out by Arend) while at it. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>

2017-03-06netfilter: nf_tables: validate the expr explicitly after init successfullyLiping Zhang
When we want to validate the expr's dependency or hooks, we must do two things to accomplish it. First, write a X_validate callback function and point ->validate to it. Second, call X_validate in init routine. This is very common, such as fib, nat, reject expr and so on ... It is a little ugly, since we will call X_validate in the expr's init routine, it's better to do it in nf_tables_newexpr. So we can avoid to do this again and again. After doing this, the second step listed above is not useful anymore, remove them now. Patch was tested by nftables/tests/py/nft-test.py and nftables/tests/shell/run-tests.sh. 2017-03-06netfilter: nft_hash: support of symmetric hashLaura Garcia Liebana
This patch provides symmetric hash support according to source ip address and port, and destination ip address and port. For this purpose, the __skb_get_hash_symmetric() is used to identify the flow as it uses FLOW_DISSECTOR_F_STOP_AT_FLOW_LABEL flag by default. The new attribute NFTA_HASH_TYPE has been included to support different types of hashing functions. Currently supported NFT_HASH_JENKINS through jhash and NFT_HASH_SYM through symhash. The main difference between both types are: - jhash requires an expression with sreg, symhash doesn't. - symhash supports modulus and offset, but not seed. Examples: nft add rule ip nat prerouting ct mark set jhash ip saddr mod 2 nft add rule ip nat prerouting ct mark set symhash mod 2 By default, jenkins hash will be used if no hash type is provided for compatibility reasons. 2017-03-06cfg80211: Share Channel DFS state across wiphys of same DFS domainVasanthakumar Thiagarajan
Sharing DFS channel state across multiple wiphys (radios) could be useful with multiple radios on the system. When one radio completes CAC and markes the channel available another radio can use this information and start beaconing without really doing CAC. Whenever there is a state change in dfs channel associated to a particular wiphy the the same state change is propagated to other wiphys having the same DFS reg domain configuration. Also when a new wiphy is created the dfs channel state of other existing wiphys of same DFS domain is copied. 2017-03-06cfg80211: Disallow moving out of operating DFS channel in non-ETSIVasanthakumar Thiagarajan
For non-ETSI regulatory domain, CAC result on DFS channel may not be valid once moving out of that channel (as done during remain-on-channel, scannning and off-channel tx). Running CAC on an operating DFS channel after every off-channel operation will only add complexity and disturb the current link. Better do not allow any off-channel switch from a DFS operating channel in non-ETSI domain. 2017-03-06cfg80211: Make pre-CAC results valid only for ETSI domainVasanthakumar Thiagarajan
DFS requirement for ETSI domain (section 4.7.1.4 in ETSI EN 301 893 V1.8.1) is the only one which explicitly states that once DFS channel is marked as available afer the CAC, this channel will remain in available state even moving to a different operating channel. But the same is not explicitly stated in FCC DFS requirement. Also, Pre-CAC requriements are not explicitly mentioned in FCC requirement. Current implementation in keeping DFS channel in available state is same as described in ETSI domain. For non-ETSI DFS domain, this patch gives a grace period of 2 seconds since the completion of successful CAC before moving the channel's DFS state to 'usable' from 'available' state. The same grace period is checked against the channel's dfs_state_entered timestamp while deciding if a DFS channel is available for operation. There is a new radar event, NL80211_RADAR_PRE_CAC_EXPIRED, reported when DFS channel is moved from available to usable state after the grace period. Also make sure the DFS channel state is reset to usable once the beaconing operation on that channel is brought down (like stop_ap, leave_ibss and leave_mesh) in non-ETSI domain. 2017-03-06mac80211: Add set_cqm_rssi_range_configAndrew Zaborowski
Support .set_cqm_rssi_range_config if the beacons are available for processing in mac80211. 2017-03-06cfg80211: Accept multiple RSSI thresholds for CQMAndrew Zaborowski
Change the SET CQM command's RSSI threshold attribute to accept any number of thresholds as a sorted array. The API should be backwards compatible so that if one s32 threshold value is passed, the old mechanism is enabled. The netlink event generated is the same in both cases. cfg80211 handles an arbitrary number of RSSI thresholds but drivers have to provide a method (set_cqm_rssi_range_config) that configures a range set by a high and a low value. Drivers have to call back when the RSSI goes out of that range and there's no additional event for each time the range is reconfigured as there was with the current one-threshold API. This method doesn't have a hysteresis parameter because there's no benefit to the cfg80211 code from having the hysteresis be handled by hardware/driver in terms of the number of wakeups. At the same time it would likely be less consistent between drivers if offloaded or done in the drivers. 2017-03-06mac80211: use DECLARE_EWMA for mesh_fail_avgManoharan, Rajkumar
As moving average is not considering fractional part, it will get stuck at the same level after certain state. For example, with current values, it can get stuck at 96. Fortunately the current threshold 95%, but if it were increased to 96 or more mesh paths would never be deactivated. Fix failure average movement by using EWMA helpers, which does take into account fractional parts. 2017-03-04batman-adv: Initialize gw sel_class via batadv_algoSven Eckelmann
The gateway selection class variable is shared between different algorithm versions. But the interpretation of the content is algorithm specific. The initialization is therefore also algorithm specific. But this was implemented incorrectly and the initialization for BATMAN_V always overwrote the value previously written for BATMAN_IV. This could only be avoided when BATMAN_V was disabled during compile time. Using a special batadv_algo hook for this initialization avoids this problem. Fixes: 50164d8f500f ("batman-adv: B.A.T.M.A.N. 2017-03-04batman-adv: Keep fragments equally sizedSven Eckelmann
The batman-adv fragmentation packets have the design problem that they cannot be refragmented and cannot handle padding by the underlying link. The latter often leads to problems when networks are incorrectly configured and don't use a common MTU. The sender could for example fragment a 1271 byte frame (plus external ethernet header (14) and batadv unicast header (10)) to fit in a 1280 bytes large MTU of the underlying link (max. 1294 byte frames). This would create a 1294 bytes large frame (fragment 2) and a 55 bytes large frame (fragment 1). The extra 54 bytes are the fragment header (20) added to each fragment and the external ethernet header (14) for the second fragment. Let us assume that the next hop is then not able to transport 1294 bytes to its next hop. The 1294 byte large frame will be dropped but the 55 bytes large fragment will still be forwarded to its destination. Or let us assume that the underlying hardware requires that each frame has a minimum size (e.g. 60 bytes). Then it will pad the 55 bytes frame to 60 bytes. The receiver of the 60 bytes frame will no longer be able to correctly assemble the two frames together because it is not aware that 5 bytes of the 60 bytes frame are padding and don't belong to the reassembled frame. This can partly be avoided by splitting frames more equally. In this example, the 675 and 674 bytes large fragment frames could both potentially reach its destination without being too large or too small. 2017-03-03netfilter: nf_tables: don't call nfnetlink_set_err() if nfnetlink_send() failsPablo Neira Ayuso
The underlying nlmsg_multicast() already sets sk->sk_err for us to notify socket overruns, so we should not do anything with this return value. So we just call nfnetlink_set_err() if: 1) We fail to allocate the netlink message. or 2) We don't have enough space in the netlink message to place attributes, which means that we likely need to allocate a larger message. Before this patch, the internal ESRCH netlink error code was propagated to userspace, which is quite misleading. 2017-03-03sched/headers: Move task_struct::signal and task_struct::sighand types and ↵Ingo Molnar
accessors into <linux/sched/signal.h> task_struct::signal and task_struct::sighand are pointers, which would normally make it straightforward to not define those types in sched.h. That is not so, because the types are accompanied by a myriad of APIs (macros and inline functions) that dereference them. Split the types and the APIs out of sched.h and move them into a new header, <linux/sched/signal.h>. With this change sched.h does not know about 'struct signal' and 'struct sighand' anymore, trying to put accessors into sched.h as a test fails the following way: ./include/linux/sched.h: In function ‘test_signal_types’: ./include/linux/sched.h:2461:18: error: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type ‘struct signal_struct’ ^ This reduces the size and complexity of sched.h significantly. Update all headers and .c code that relied on getting the signal handling functionality from <linux/sched.h> to include <linux/sched/signal.h>. The list of affected files in the preparatory patch was partly generated by grepping for the APIs, and partly by doing coverage build testing, both all[yes|mod|def|no]config builds on 64-bit and 32-bit x86, and an array of cross-architecture builds. Nevertheless some (trivial) build breakage is still expected related to rare Kconfig combinations and in-flight patches to various kernel code, but most of it should be handled by this patch. 2017-03-02tcp: fix potential double free issue for fastopen_reqWei Wang
tp->fastopen_req could potentially be double freed if a malicious user does the following: 1. Enable TCP_FASTOPEN_CONNECT sockopt and do a connect() on the socket. 2. Call connect() with AF_UNSPEC to disconnect the socket. 3. Make this socket a listening socket by calling listen(). 4. Accept incoming connections and generate child sockets. All child sockets will get a copy of the pointer of fastopen_req. 5. Call close() on all sockets. fastopen_req will get freed multiple times. 2017-03-02net: Introduce sk_clone_lock() error path routineArnaldo Carvalho de Melo
When handling problems in cloning a socket with the sk_clone_locked() function we need to perform several steps that were open coded in it and its callers, so introduce a routine to avoid this duplication: sk_free_unlock_clone(). 2017-03-02dccp: Unlock sock before calling sk_free()Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo
The code where sk_clone() came from created a new socket and locked it, but then, on the error path didn't unlock it. This problem stayed there for a long while, till b0691c8ee7c2 ("net: Unlock sock before calling sk_free()") fixed it, but unfortunately the callers of sk_clone() (now sk_clone_locked()) were not audited and the one in dccp_create_openreq_child() remained. Now in the age of the syskaller fuzzer, this was finally uncovered, as reported by Dmitry: ---- 8< ---- I've got the following report while running syzkaller fuzzer on 86292b33d4b7 ("Merge branch 'akpm' (patches from Andrew)") [ BUG: held lock freed! ] 4.10.0+ #234 Not tainted ------------------------- syz-executor6/6898 is freeing memory ffff88006286cac0-ffff88006286d3b7, with a lock still held there!
