2024-12-13ASoC: fsl: add memory to memory function for ASRCMark Brown
Merge series from Shengjiu Wang <shengjiu.wang@nxp.com>: This function is base on the accelerator implementation for compress API: 04177158cf98 ("ALSA: compress_offload: introduce accel operation mode") Audio signal processing also has the requirement for memory to memory similar as Video. This asrc memory to memory (memory ->asrc->memory) case is a non real time use case. User fills the input buffer to the asrc module, after conversion, then asrc sends back the output buffer to user. So it is not a traditional ALSA playback and capture case. Because we had implemented the "memory -> asrc ->i2s device-> codec" use case in ALSA. Now the "memory->asrc->memory" needs to reuse the code in asrc driver, so the patch 1 and patch 2 is for refining the code to make it can be shared by the "memory->asrc->memory" driver. Other change is to add memory to memory support for two kinds of i.MX ASRC modules.

This is generally a bad idea, so the best solution is to change that into a dependency. To allow the ASoC driver to keep building with the SCMI support, this needs to be an optional dependency that enforces the link-time dependency if IMX_SCMI_MISC_DRV is a loadable module but not depend on it if that is disabled. 2024-12-02ASoC: fsl_xcvr: Add suspend and resume supportShengjiu Wang
Use regcache_sync() to recover the registers of controller, PHY and PLL after suspend and resume. In order to recover the registers need to avoid use the *_SET, *_CLR and *_TOG registers. Recovery of the registers should be done before loading XCVR firmware otherwise some registers set by firmware are overwritten. Besides only in eARC mode is it necessary to load XCVR firmware. Merge series from Kuninori Morimoto <kuninori.morimoto.gx@renesas.com>: rtd has own ID, but it is naming "num" for it. The naming is confusable. This patch rename it to "id". And many functions request both "rtd" and its "id" as function parameter, but rtd itself has rtd->id. This patch cleanup it. And, Qcom driver want to use irregular rtd ID because of its topology, and thus, soc-core need irregular calculation. I'm not sure why only Qcom needs such calculation, but this patch also cleanup it. But I guess we want to cleanup is not soc-core but Qcom side (?)

On some platforms, for example i.MX93, there is only one audio PLL source, so some sample rate can't be supported. If the PLL source is used for 8kHz series rates, then 11kHz series rates can't be supported. So add constraints according to the frequency of available clock sources, then alsa-lib will help to convert the unsupported rate for the driver. However, there are still several users of the "hp-det-gpio" and "mic-det-gpio" properties, in DT bindings, drivers, and DT source files. Drivers that use gpiolib handle both the deprecated and new properties transparently, but that is not the case when using of_property_*() calls directly.

2024-09-30ASoC: fsl: Use maple tree register cacheMark Brown
Several of the NXP drivers use regmaps with a rbtree register cache. Since the maple tree cache is using a generally more modern data structure which makes implementation choices more suitable for modern systems let's convert these drivers to it. This should have no practical impact. After commit 0edb555a65d1 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove() return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement for platform drivers. Convert all drivers below sound/soc to use .remove(), with the eventual goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As .remove() and .remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is done by just changing the structure member name in the driver initializer. dpcm_xxx flags are no longer needed. We need to use xxx_only flags instead if needed, but snd_soc_dai_link_set_capabilities() user adds dpcm_xxx if playback/capture were available.
