2024-04-05dt-bindings: treewide: add access-controllers descriptionGatien Chevallier
access-controllers is an optional property that allows a peripheral to refer to one or more domain access controller(s). Description of this property is added to all peripheral binding files of the peripheral under the STM32 firewall controller. It allows an accurate representation of the hardware, where various peripherals are connected to a firewall bus. The firewall can then check the peripheral accesses before allowing its device to probe. 2022-12-16dt-bindings: drop redundant part of title (end, part three)Krzysztof Kozlowski
The Devicetree bindings document does not have to say in the title that it is a "binding", but instead just describe the hardware. Drop trailing "bindings" in various forms (also with trailing full stop): find Documentation/devicetree/bindings/ -type f -name '*.yaml' \ -not -name 'trivial-devices.yaml' \ -exec sed -i -e 's/^title: \(.*\) [bB]indings\?\.\?$/title: \1/' {} \; Signed-off-by: Krzysztof Kozlowski <krzysztof.kozlowski@linaro.org> Acked-by: Alexandre Belloni <alexandre.belloni@bootlin.com> Acked-by: Matti Vaittinen <mazziesaccount@gmail.com> # ROHM Acked-by: Ulf Hansson <ulf.hansson@linaro.org> # MMC Acked-by: Stephen Boyd <sboyd@kernel.org> # clk Acked-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com> # input Acked-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org> Acked-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil-cisco@xs4all.nl> # media Acked-by: Sebastian Reichel <sre@kernel.org> # power Acked-by: Viresh Kumar <viresh.kumar@linaro.org> # cpufreq Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20221216163815.522628-7-krzysztof.kozlowski@linaro.org Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org>
2022-11-23dt-bindings: iio: adc: stm32-adc: add stm32mp13 compatiblesOlivier Moysan
Add st,stm32mp13-adc-core and st,stm32mp13-adc compatibles to support STM32MPU13 SoC. On STM32MP13x, each ADC peripheral has a single ADC block. These ADC peripherals, ADC1 and ADC2, are fully independent. Main characteristics of STM32MP13x ADC: - One interrupt line per ADC - 6 to 12 bits resolution - 19 channels ADC2 instance supports two extra internal channels VDDCPU and VDDQ_DDR. Add "vddcpu" and "vddq_ddr" internal channels names to the reserved labels list. 2022-05-04dt-bindings: Drop redundant 'maxItems/minItems' in if/then schemasRob Herring
Another round of removing redundant minItems/maxItems when 'items' list is specified. This time it is in if/then schemas as the meta-schema was failing to check this case. If a property has an 'items' list, then a 'minItems' or 'maxItems' with the same size as the list is redundant and can be dropped. Note that is DT schema specific behavior and not standard json-schema behavior. The tooling will fixup the final schema adding any unspecified minItems/maxItems. 2021-01-29dt-bindings: Cleanup standard unit propertiesRob Herring
Properties with standard unit suffixes already have a type and don't need type definitions. They also default to a single entry, so 'maxItems: 1' can be dropped. adi,ad5758 is an oddball which defined an enum of arrays. While a valid schema, it is simpler as a whole to only define scalar constraints. 2021-01-11dt-bindings: Add missing array size constraintsRob Herring
DT properties which can have multiple entries need to specify what the entries are and define how many entries there can be. In the case of only a single entry, just 'maxItems: 1' is sufficient. Add the missing entry constraints. These were found with a modified meta-schema. Unfortunately, there are a few cases where the size constraints are not defined such as common bindings, so the meta-schema can't be part of the normal checks. 2020-05-03dt-bindings: Remove cases of 'allOf' containing a '$ref'Rob Herring
json-schema versions draft7 and earlier have a weird behavior in that any keywords combined with a '$ref' are ignored (silently). The correct form was to put a '$ref' under an 'allOf'. This behavior is now changed in the 2019-09 json-schema spec and '$ref' can be mixed with other keywords. The json-schema library doesn't yet support this, but the tooling now does a fixup for this and either way works. This has been a constant source of review comments, so let's change this treewide so everyone copies the simpler syntax. Scripted with ruamel.yaml with some manual fixups. Some minor whitespace changes from the script.
