2019-10-29dt-bindings: regulator: Document regulators coupling of NVIDIA Tegra20/30 SoCsDmitry Osipenko
There is voltage coupling between three regulators on Tegra20 boards and between two on Tegra30. The voltage coupling is a SoC-level feature and thus it is mandatory and common for all of the Tegra boards. 2019-10-14dt-bindings: Clean-up regulator '-supply' schemasRob Herring
Regulator '*-supply' properties are always a single phandle, so 'maxItems: 1' or a $ref is not necessary. All that's needed is either 'true' or an optional 'description'. Following this clean-up, the meta-schema will enforce this pattern. There's one case in tree with 'innolux,n156bge-l21' having 2 phandles. This appears to be a mistake or abuse of simple-panel as it's 2 different voltage rails connected to 'power-supply'. 2019-10-02regulator: Document "regulator-boot-on" binding more thoroughlyDouglas Anderson
The description of "regulator-boot-on" was a little unclear, at least to me. Did this property mean that we should turn the regulator on at boot? Or perhaps it was intended only to be used for regulators where we couldn't read the state at bootup to indicate what state we should assume? The answer, it turns out, is both [1]. Let's document this. 2019-08-09dt-bindings: regulator: twl6030: Add retain-on-reset propertyGregory CLEMENT
During reset the VMMC regulator doesn't reach 0V and only drops to 1.8V, furthermore the pulse width is under 200us whereas the SD specification expect 1ms. For this 2 reasons being able to no reset at all the VMMC during warm reset and keep the current voltage is a good workaround. The TWL6030 allows this but needs to be aware of it and this configuration should also be shared with the bootloader. Regulator high pull down are enabled by default so remove support in the driver. Signed-off-by: Pascal Paillet <p.paillet@st.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>
2019-02-19dt-bindings: regulator: remove interrupt-parent description on stpmic1Pascal PAILLET-LME
The interrupt parent description is not needed as the parent is a parent node with 'interrupt-controller' property. Signed-off-by: pascal paillet <p.paillet@st.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>
2019-02-14devicetree: bindings: bd718x7: document HW state related ROHM specific ↵Matti Vaittinen
properties Add ROHM BD71837 / BD71847 specific device tree bindings for controlling the PMIC shutdown/reset states and voltages for different HW states. The PMIC was designed to be used with NXP i.MX8 SoC and it supports SNVS low power state which seems to be typical for NXP i.MX SoCs. However, when SNVS is used we must not allow SW to control enabling/disabling those regulators which are crucial for system to boot as there is a HW limitation which causes SW controlled regulators to be kept shut down after SNVS reset. Allow setting the SNVS to be used as reset target state and allow marking those regulators which are critical for boot. 2019-02-08dt-bindings: regulator: update fixed-regulator exampleJohan Hovold
Fixed regulators do not have associated bus addresses and are typically placed directly under the root node where their names must still be unique despite not having a unit address. Fix the malformed example node which had a unit address but no "reg" property by dropping the unit address. Also, try to make the example more useful by using the recommended generic node name "regulator", but with a suffix reflecting the regulator name in order to make it unique.
