2020-12-10docs: mtd: Avoid htmldocs warningsMiquel Raynal
Moving files around produced the following warnings: Error: Cannot open file drivers/mtd/nand/raw/nand_ecc.c Error: Cannot open file drivers/mtd/nand/raw/nand_ecc.c Fix one by just dropping the reference because it is not relevant, the other by using a better noun instead of a file name. 2020-05-31mtd: rawnand: Stop using nand_release()Miquel Raynal
This helper is not very useful and very often people get confused: they use nand_release() instead of nand_cleanup(). Now that all drivers have been converted to do not use nand_release() anymore, let's remove this helper. 2018-10-03mtd: rawnand: Deprecate ->chip_delayBoris Brezillon
The wait timeouts and delays are directly extracted from the NAND timings and ->chip_delay is only used in legacy path, so let's move it to the nand_legacy struct to make it clear. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Miquel Raynal <miquel.raynal@bootlin.com>
2018-10-03mtd: rawnand: Deprecate ->dev_ready() and ->waitfunc()Boris Brezillon
Those hooks have been replaced by ->exec_op(). Move them to the nand_legacy struct. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Miquel Raynal <miquel.raynal@bootlin.com>
2018-10-03mtd: rawnand: Create a legacy struct and move ->IO_ADDR_{R, W} thereBoris Brezillon
We regularly have new NAND controller drivers that are making use of fields/hooks that we want to get rid of but can't because of all the legacy drivers that we might break if we do. So, instead of removing those fields/hooks, let's move them to a sub-struct which is clearly documented as deprecated. We start with the ->IO_ADDR_{R,W] fields. 2018-10-03mtd: rawnand: Pass a nand_chip object to nand_release()Boris Brezillon
Let's make the raw NAND API consistent by patching all helpers to take a nand_chip object instead of an mtd_info one. Now is nand_release()'s turn. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Miquel Raynal <miquel.raynal@bootlin.com>
2018-10-03mtd: rawnand: Pass a nand_chip object to nand_scan()Boris Brezillon
Let's make the raw NAND API consistent by patching all helpers to take a nand_chip object instead of an mtd_info one. We start with nand_scan(). Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Miquel Raynal <miquel.raynal@bootlin.com>
2018-07-23mtd: nand: correct documentation for NAND_ECC_HW8_512Marcel Ziswiler
The documentation for this parameter said "6 bytes" when "8 bytes" was intended; correct it. Signed-off-by: Marcel Ziswiler <marcel.ziswiler@toradex.com> Signed-off-by: Jonathan Corbet <corbet@lwn.net>
2018-02-16mtd: nand: move raw NAND related code to the raw/ subdirBoris Brezillon
As part of the process of sharing more code between different NAND based devices, we need to move all raw NAND related code to the raw/ subdirectory. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@bootlin.com>
2017-08-13mtd: nand: Rename nand.h into rawnand.hBoris Brezillon
We are planning to share more code between different NAND based devices (SPI NAND, OneNAND and raw NANDs), but before doing that we need to move the existing include/linux/mtd/nand.h file into include/linux/mtd/rawnand.h so we can later create a nand.h header containing all common structure and function prototypes. 2017-05-16mtdnand.rst: group the "::" with previous lineMauro Carvalho Chehab
Group the :: with the previous paragraph, in order to make it visually better when reading as a text file. While here, replace: ored (with means "Covered or adorned with ore or metal") by: OR-ed To reflect its true meaning. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
