2018-11-21docs-networking: fix typo in defineJesse Brandeburg
The #define for NETIF_F_GSO_UDP_L4 was incorrect in the documentation, fix it by making it match the actual code. Signed-off-by: Jesse Brandeburg <jesse.brandeburg@intel.com> Tested-by: Andrew Bowers <andrewx.bowers@intel.com> Tested-by: Aaron Brown <aaron.f.brown@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
2018-04-26udp: add gso support to virtual devicesWillem de Bruijn
Virtual devices such as tunnels and bonding can handle large packets. Only segment packets when reaching a physical or loopback device. Signed-off-by: Willem de Bruijn <willemb@google.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2017-12-19net: Introduce NETIF_F_GRO_HW.Michael Chan
Introduce NETIF_F_GRO_HW feature flag for NICs that support hardware GRO. With this flag, we can now independently turn on or off hardware GRO when GRO is on. Previously, drivers were using NETIF_F_GRO to control hardware GRO and so it cannot be independently turned on or off without affecting GRO. Hardware GRO (just like GRO) guarantees that packets can be re-segmented by TSO/GSO to reconstruct the original packet stream. Logically, GRO_HW should depend on GRO since it a subset, but we will let individual drivers enforce this dependency as they see fit. Since NETIF_F_GRO is not propagated between upper and lower devices, NETIF_F_GRO_HW should follow suit since it is a subset of GRO. In other words, a lower device can independent have GRO/GRO_HW enabled or disabled and no feature propagation is required. This will preserve the current GRO behavior. This can be changed later if we decide to propagate GRO/ GRO_HW/RXCSUM from upper to lower devices. 2016-04-26net: remove NETDEV_TX_LOCKED supportFlorian Westphal
No more users in the tree, remove NETDEV_TX_LOCKED support. Adds another hole in softnet_stats struct, but better than keeping the unused collision counter around. Signed-off-by: Florian Westphal <fw@strlen.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2012-02-24net: Support RX-ALL feature flag.Ben Greear
This flag requests that network devices pass all received frames up the stack, even ones with errors such as invalid FCS (frame check sum). This will allow sniffers to see bad packets and perhaps give the user some idea how to fix the problem. 2012-02-24net: Support RXFCS feature flag.Ben Greear
When set on hardware that supports the feature, this causes the Ethernet FCS to be appended to the end of the skb. Useful for sniffing packets.
