2017-11-02irqchip/gic: Deal with broken firmware exposing only 4kB of GICv2 CPU interfaceMarc Zyngier
There is a lot of broken firmware out there that don't really expose the information the kernel requires when it comes with dealing with GICv2: (1) Firmware that only describes the first 4kB of GICv2 (2) Firmware that describe 128kB of CPU interface, while the usable portion of the address space is between 60 and 68kB So far, we only deal with (2). But we have platforms exhibiting behaviour (1), resulting in two sub-cases: (a) The GIC is occupying 8kB, as required by the GICv2 architecture (b) It is actually spread 128kB, and this is likely to be a version of (2) This patch tries to work around both (a) and (b) by poking at the outside of the described memory region, and try to work out what is actually there. This is of course unsafe, and should only be enabled if there is no way to otherwise fix the DT provided by the firmware (we provide a "irqchip.gicv2_force_probe" option to that effect). Note that for the time being, we restrict ourselves to GICv2 implementations provided by ARM, since there I have no knowledge of an alternative implementations. The ITSes on the Hip07 (as present in the Huawei D05) are broken when it comes to addressing the redistributors, and need to be explicitely told to address the VLPI page instead of the redistributor base address. 2017-10-19irqchip/gic-v3: Add workaround for Synquacer pre-ITSArd Biesheuvel
The Socionext Synquacer SoC's implementation of GICv3 has a so-called 'pre-ITS', which maps 32-bit writes targeted at a separate window of size '4 << device_id_bits' onto writes to GITS_TRANSLATER with device ID taken from bits [device_id_bits + 1:2] of the window offset. Writes that target GITS_TRANSLATER directly are reported as originating from device ID #0. So add a workaround for this. Given that this breaks isolation, clear the IRQ_DOMAIN_FLAG_MSI_REMAP flag as well. 2017-09-23dt: bindings: as3645a: Use LED number to refer to LEDsSakari Ailus
Use integers (reg property) to tell the number of the LED to the driver instead of the node name. While both of these approaches are currently used by the LED bindings, using integers will require less driver changes for ACPI support. Additionally, it will make possible LED naming using chip and LED node names, effectively making the label property most useful for human-readable names only. 2017-09-19ipv6: fix net.ipv6.conf.all interface DAD handlersMatteo Croce
Currently, writing into net.ipv6.conf.all.{accept_dad,use_optimistic,optimistic_dad} has no effect. Fix handling of these flags by: - using the maximum of global and per-interface values for the accept_dad flag. That is, if at least one of the two values is non-zero, enable DAD on the interface. If at least one value is set to 2, enable DAD and disable IPv6 operation on the interface if MAC-based link-local address was found - using the logical OR of global and per-interface values for the optimistic_dad flag. If at least one of them is set to one, optimistic duplicate address detection (RFC 4429) is enabled on the interface - using the logical OR of global and per-interface values for the use_optimistic flag. If at least one of them is set to one, optimistic addresses won't be marked as deprecated during source address selection on the interface. While at it, as we're modifying the prototype for ipv6_use_optimistic_addr(), drop inline, and let the compiler decide. This reverts commit 81f95076281fdd3bc382e004ba1bce8e82fccbce. It causes random failures of firmware loading at resume time (well, random for me, it seems to be more reliable for others) because the firmware disabling is not actually synchronous with any particular resume event, and at least the btusb driver that uses a workqueue to load the firmware at resume seems to occasionally hit the "firmware loading is disabled" logic because the firmware loader hasn't gotten the resume event yet. Some kind of sanity check for not trying to load firmware when it's not possible might be a good thing, but this commit was not it. Greg seems to have silently suffered the same issue, and pointed to the likely culprit, and Gabriel C verified the revert fixed it for him too.
